Hmmmm.... The only other thing that it could be besides the Fan built combiner would be an SDCC exclusive or something, in my opinion. I don't think hasbro would release 2 versions of every combiner.

Yeah, now that I am looking closer, it cant be the fan built combiner, it says superion on the box (at the top near the card image)

DO IT, HASBRO!

So here's my question, because I can't tell from what of the picture I can see: Do you think they'll do G2 Gold Slingshot, or will Alpha Bravo steal Slingshot's color scheme again?

And a follow up, who of us wouldn't buy a golden Alpha Bravo?

But would Alpha Bravo be more or less awesome if he got SLingshot's G2 color scheme as well? It has such an unpleasant rep, with the GPS and all.

I'd actually be most excited for G2 Offroad, since he'd effectively be the G2 Ruckus that I never knew I wanted until now! Triggercons/-bots rule!

And as for the color scheme of Defensor's G2 Rook repaint...Image

Counter-proposal: It shows 2 cards up in the corner, correct? What if as an extra incentive they throw in the cards for the combined forms with the fan-built combiner? That or it could just be both the G1 and G2 cards for Superion.

Thanks, Optimizzy!

As far as the colors, I wonder if SW's Silverhammer's post was actually the vote for the fan built combiner and not related to G2. (I could be wrong...) At least that's how I took it.... (Which is why I did two separate posts rather than combine in one, hoping to avoid the confusion. I failed... I think...)

It's for the fan built combiner, I posted it to see if anyone could pick up on similar pallets. Oh also, in the cross cell on the front you can see a blue Skydive or blue Airraid, similar to Machine Wars Megatron. G2 Skydive's jet mode wasn't all blue like that, only the wings. Nor is it G2 Airraid who had a navy blue jet body, but red wings.

Has modern technology found an answer to GPS? If they go by the G2 route, Slingshot is doomed again.

So if this is a G2 Superion, do you think this will be a Takara only thing or do you think Hasbro would release it too?

The solution is basically not using that particular blend of plastic and dyes. You can still do gold with a different blend. The problem isn't inherent to all gold plastic, just the particular gold plastic that was used in the G2 and Beast Wars eras. Hasbro has evidently moved away from it due to the rising awareness of GPS.

I believe the important question we should all be asking is WHO IS THE MADMAN WHO TOOK SLINGSHOT OUT OF THE BOX AND ASSEMBLED G2 SUPERION FOR THAT THUMBNAIL?!?!? Why would you tempt god?!?!?!

Ugggh. There's already too many combiners coming this year, G2 colors aren't really necessary.

Excuse me sir, do you work for a Mr. Dick Jones?

I was all set to say this was a G2 Aerialbot gift set since I just figured they were coming eventually, but now I'm not sure. If you look at the pictures of the cards on the box, one is clearly G1 Superion and captioned as such; while the other is in a different pose, clearly based on the larger box art. When has Hasbro created new art for a repaint?

What would be cool is an golden Alpha Bravo with GPS. As he turns to dust in your hands, inside the figure is a small ticket that you mail in to redeem your G2 Slingshot. That would be awesome !

Well that's definitely the end of a golden firefly wrapped around that big Blue fist....if you look at shots of the current version with firefly as an arm l, the tail configuration around the first matches exactly

I'm betting this is a g2 repaint. Most likely for sdcc like everyone else is speculating.

It would definitely be cool to see G2 combiners make a comeback. I already own Superion (sans Slingshot for obvious reasons), so there doesn't really seem to be a compelling reason to get a second Superion...
