That was already confirmed a month ago. But it will probably use the Legends mold instead of this one.

grimdragon2001 wrote:ok, if Hasbro's excuse for not releasing Groove is that they have Legends Groove, let me remind everybody that we got a Legends Thundercracker and a Leader Thundercracker in the same line within months of each other. Not getting this to US fans would be the biggest failure this year for Hasbro

I think their excuse is that they already have a Groove who is part of the Defensor team. Neither Thundercrackers really come into play with the combiners so it's not a fair comparison. The interview with the head of Transformers even said their groove was made smaller to account for scale (ha!).

And I think we will get this mold and I'm sure it will be available in some form or another down the road. The issue may be they are making a distinction because breakneck and Quickslinger were released. Perhaps they mean that this mold will not see a hasbro version but just a Takara one. So, I don't see how that's that bad. Just have to order it like Prime Itonhide or Breakdown. If you really want it, you can get it. I think it looks great but I don't want it as groove.

Except that was for trademark reasons. Groove has no such issue.

As opposed to every other takara exclusive product like the Alternity line and MP12? Was Prime Breakdown also a racist thing?

And this went from good news to bad news in just under Twenty Four hours.

Don't need this that bad to warrant spending the takara gift set price to get it.

Prepared to have the faith and wait forever for Hasbro America to maybe release this.

I'm actually fine with this, I dig rook, but I feel bad for those who want a limb-bot groove.

We KNEW Defensor would be a gift set since Menasor and Superion. That shouldnt be news, and tht Groove would be in that set is the obvious next step, no?

That smells like bad translation, sorta like the "No Available in stores" line that you see on ads... in this case meaning TakTom made this. I wouldnt be suprised if Groove goes the way of the Go! Autobots, but I think thats an off translation. Could be wrong.

Agreed.

If it dosent make $$$ then it doesent make cents.

Those going to Botcon shold bring it up at the Hasbro pannel. But dont ask for a deluxe Groove, demand one.

It's the former, picture man (hence the little tongue guy)...but I liked your reply nonetheless.

Though, I was tempted to post "Silence, picture man!" to keep it going...

The Takara Unite warriors are only available in gift sets. you can't just order a singular unite warrior character toy.

It's going to be expensive getting this. Not only due to Takara import gift set prices. Also due to the exclusive release of this.

Oh, most certainly. But we can always dream.

In my head he'd go good with Galvatronus, one herald to another. ;)

I hope its a bad translation because right now it seems that not only would it be Japan exclusive as a box set as we thought Slingshot and Wildrider would be (which I was fine with) but it seems this would also be exclusive to Takara Tomy Mall, Takara's own web store. Meaning that we wouldnt get our nice cheap preorders we can usually find for the japan exclusive stuff.

Question guys, can someone outside Japan order from Takara Tomy Mall? Because if yes, then it's still not as bad as those Cloud figures which were retailer exclusives and Japan exclusives (while Breakdown was just Japan exclusive which is not a big deal in today's internet age and cheap preorders)

So...as of right now, this is a Japan only exclusive, according to the rough translation. If that's the case, then Hasbro is incredibly stupid because he'd be a guaranteed sale for the majority of collectors and fans.

This better not be an Arms Micron Breakdown all over again. That's a ridiculous hoop to jump through.

Might be worse. At least Breakdown wasn't retailer exclusive(was he? I dont think so). This set might be a TakaraTomyMall exclusive, kinda like how the Cloud figures were E Hobby Exclusives.

Which would kinda be nuts since this is a whole new mold. To anyone out there (Sabr or Jelze), is there a precedent for a wholly new mold to be retailer exclusive? I can only think of exclusive repaints and maybe retools but not fully new molds.

I'm gonna stick with me legends Groove. Looks much better in scale, and I care a little bit about it. Besides, the legends figure looks really nice to me, so I do not mind.
Plus, I really like Rook. I'm keeping the IDW configuration and won't be getting the G1 exclusives. Just looks good to me. Besides, I'm sure we'll get the mold later on, so I still look forward to getting it! :BOT:

Well, not a huge surprise, but it seems not. I just struggled my way through their registration page. Even had to figure out my name in kana since there is a spot where they specifically want it in kana. (Apparently, unless the translation software I was using is wacked -- which is entirely possible -- I am アタニアン マシュー.)

So everything should be fine and dandy... except I cannot fill out the state/province line (since the only options are Japanese ones), and it also does not recognize my U.S. zip code as a valid postal code.

So it seems you can only register for the website if you have a Japanese mailing address with which to register.

Incidentally, Defensor is already up on their website. He's listed at ¥16,200, which is the same that they have Superion and Menasor listed for. So at least he won't be more expensive then them to purchase. The only issue will be the mark-up if we have to pay someone else to buy them for us.
