Overquoting to say that at first, I found the idea of that armor set completely stupid. What's the point? Evasioptimus is perfect as he is.
Then, I got a closer look. IT'S A GOD GINRAI HOMMAGE! With this set, I can have a movieverse mini God Ginrai!!! Oh man, I'm so buying this! =P~

Seriously, any G1 fan out there should have a God Ginrai set. It's incredible!

Just curious, but is that also why you like DOTM Ultimate Optimus so much? Because the fact that his trailer combines with him to make him a super robot kinda makes him a movie verse god ginrai homage, no?

So the movie-accurate version is only being sold as an exclusive pack-in, and the general release has a lazy, uninspired paint job.

These things are no longer surprising to me.

Arent we getting a figure with similar deco in the platinum set called Autobots Unite? For the same price as this, we get all 5 autobots in better deco.

Ultimat OP is not a God Ginrai hommage at all. The distinctive triple-window chest and unique guns are not there. However, it is an Optimus that combine into a something to become a SUPER mode. And I just LOVE that TF trope. Masterforce, RiD, Armada, Energon, Cybertron, ROTF, and DOTM.... I just love it. Only the ROTF one is the weakest of the bunch. Jetfire is only a backpack here. Lame. Also, one regret. Ultra Magnust should have been OP's first ever super mode. However, due to some business reasons, the character of UM was created instead. Not a big loss, mind you, because UM is awesome. Especially in Animated and Prime.

Similar camo paint job but the Autobots United Hound has much more gray/silver bits inluding the weapons.

Dr Wu already made an add on set for that.
Also, the Galvatron is a Power Battler. Think Fast Action Battlers, but with less articulation. It's not that bad a shellformer, especially for a gimmicky simplified toy. It's on par with the Voyager, at least, which isn't as bad as people seem to believe. And anything's better than the First Edition Optimus.

Yep. The First Edition is a pretty cool toy, but that shellforming just completely ruins it.

It took me a second to realize that the vehicle and robot were one toy, just separated. #-o

You know, it looks more like a Galaxy Convoy homage to me, especially the way the wings are done.

When we were talking about this set the other day, I saw those wings and thought the same thing.
Cybertron prime all the way, but those guns are totally God Ginrai's.
This might be the 1st 3rd party item I ever buy. It helps that it doesn't cost $763.00 too.
