Skyquake looks amazing.

Should be even better in Dredwing blue, and Starscream stealth black.

This is definitely a mold to triple dip in.

I suspect the alternate head is just the same only with a mouth guard, and the tabs in the back are for the scope accessory based on the G1 original. In short:

With mouth
Prime Universe Skyquake
Prime Universe Dreadwing

With mouth guard
Machine Wars Universe Starscream

G1 Universe Skyquake... What would they name him to avoid confusion? G1 Universe Predator Skyquake? Maybe even Scrash? :P

Five? There's more than that but it's going to get a bit weird. Botcon Machine Wars Megaplex used the Skyquake/Dreadwing mold too. Then if you're making Megaplex you might as well make Megatron to go with him. Which is where the weirdness will come in as you'd have both MW Starscream and MW Megatron/Megaplex from the same base mold. Other than them there's also the further different colorations and different robot modes for Beast Hunters Dreadwing and his Adventure recolor. You want five, I want nine. Or at least seven.

Prime Skyquake.
Prime Dreadwing.

Machine Wars Megaplex. Maybe with two heads in the box so you can do Botcon or MW.
Machine Wars Megatron.

G1 Skyquake.
Machine Wars Starscream.
Universe King Atlas.

Beast Hunters Dreadwing.
Adventure Dreadwing.

Admittedly though, the Beast Hunters retool would very much be a HUGE stretch. It's just all that would really need to be done is to change the wings so that they can splay out, change the feet to the bird feet and change the weapons. And...also...change...the...head...wait a minute. The head already kind of looks like the Beast Hunters head. Or rather, it looks more like that than it does the standard head from the voyager or the Cyberverse commander molds.

Going out on a massive limb here, could we possibly see G1 Darkwing and Dreadwind out of this mold? given the cockpit rotates and there's superfluous tabs on the rear, could they be used for the combined jet mode?

Wishful thinking I know.

Hasbro may cut it a bit loose with some cars and jets, but for Generations I don't think they'll be that loose  Making BotCon Megaplex out of him is already a bit of a stretch, no offense.

Wow, I am genuinely impressed here. To the design team that made this decision, this is awesome. That is how it should be done. Sign me up for ALL the repaints. Though if you do machine wars starscream, paint the crest gold with red details so it looks like screamers crown. :APPLAUSE: :APPLAUSE: :APPLAUSE: :APPLAUSE:

That's why I become a bit of a naysayer here. I didn't expect a Prime skyquake that looked exactly like in the show after seeing the other Prime universe toys, but this approch means we don't get a dedicated mold for G1 Skyquake, which already has all that potential. My opinion could change of the G1 redeco turns out to have a retooled cockpit too.

Also, just to lay out all the facts, unlike many beast hunter tiys, Beast Hunters dreadwing was a completely new mold.

Also, crazy coincidence, Kanrabat and I once traded eachother an Adventure Dreadwing for a King Atlas.

I've been avoiding the G1ified Prime figures, but I might go for this one, if for anything to give that gun to my PRID Skyquake. I do hope it gets a G1 colors version, maybe as part of an Amazon Predetors set

I’m really impressed with Tarn.
Not sure where he’ll go in my display set-up, but I’m not going to pass on him.
I’m interested in this Skyquake, but I’ll wait to see the repaints.
I really don’t like this color scheme at all.
And if I’m going to pay the leader class price, I need to borderline love the whole figure.

None taken. I was pretty much spitballing on the idea more than anything. I do think the mould's a little bit too big to be in scale for either Darkwing and Dreadwind.

I do wonder what use they have planned for the rotating cockpit though.

The original Machine Wars Megaplex and Megatron were F-22s, they should have their own mold, that can also be repainted into Fearswoop and G2 Hooligan. That'd be 4 uses for the mold.

Machine Wars Megaplex (and Megatron) didn't really work in the Botcon set and wouldn't make sense being the same mold as Machine Wars Starscream so I don't count them. Beast Hunters and Adventure Dreadwings would require far more retooling than I think is realistic for this mold that is already (hopefully) juggling Prime and G1 parts so I'm not counting those either.

Jelze Bunnycat wrote:I suspect the alternate head is just the same only with a mouth guard, and the tabs in the back are for the scope accessory based on the G1 original.

The scope is already sculpted in as the middle thruster, it even has the clear wedge for the scope on the front.

The tabs are just for sticking it to his back.

Predator Skyquake seems likely since they aren't using "G1 Universe" in Legacy.

I'd wonder if Hasbro might hesitate to label any of their toys as a "Predator" in this PC day and age.

OK, that Skyquake looks awesome. For one thing, it keeps a lot of the DNA of the Prime figure, it has the proper silhouette basically! The shoulder pads are there! the headsculpt is pretty great, I like the new eyebrow pieces from the G1 figure. And i like that the G1 figure influence is fairly mild, and where it is present, it still matches what Prime Skyquake general look had.

I really like it, I think they finally did good here on a Prime universe figure.

Oh also, new pic showing a new combination of alt modes. I guess we now know what Needlenose is gonna be retooled into and what the secret of his alternate use was

Agreed. This is them trying to cover two birds with one stone and leaning heavily in favor of G1 while butt humping the memory of TF Prime's aesthetic.

If it were a stand alone figure, Id be impressed. But trying tonpass this off as Prime Skyquake is flat out BS.

G2 Dreadwing and Smokescreen?
Rotf Mindwipe and Skystalker?
Stratosphere and his drone/gun that was cancelled?

There's no way they'd do those. They're just what came to mind when I seen the picture.

I do like the Nitro Zeus comment though.

None of the above, this was something the original Skyquake could do so that basically confirms at least one Predator jet.

Okay that's pretty frickin' great looking, I had been planning to go for Dreadwing and only get Skyquake if I found him on sale but I may be reconsidering now. Dreadwing's navy & gold is also gonna look great on this.

For anyone who may care, the source of the pics realized that those forearm holes in bot mode were a mistransformation after the fact:

Yes I remember that now. Thank you. As I never lived in Europe and only had Machine Wars Starscream, I forgot that was a feature.

Stalker/Soundwave could do that too now that I think about it. I wonder if Hasbro will be doing that as there hasn't been a reuse for Doubledealer yet and those characters were always talked about as potential retools by the fans. I still don't know what they'd do with the bird mode though. I thought CD Red Alert could work and have the bird mode be a throwback to Armada Laserbeak. And/or have a two pack with Knok and Skar as Coby and Armada Laserbeak or something. They wouldn't do Stalker until the line after Legacy Evo though as all the leaders are accounted for I believe. Maybe Generations Selects but I don't think Hasbro in particular has ever done an extensive retool for that line yet. Possibly as one of the capsule figures then? Those listings are always pretty vague when they get leaked so it could be possible.

Assuming of course that they actually go ahead with the Predators and what not. Them making the feature doesn't always guarantee it will happen. But wait, isn't there a rumor for an upcoming Thunderclash...
