Welp, after the Cyclonus thing, this pretty much confirms it.

I prefer the look of the Classics mold, despite not owning it. That's the problem though - need an Ironhide, need a Prowl, but can't afford Classics, don't like CW appearances. What's a casual, non-wealthy collector to do?

So really, only Mirage is involved in both.

Since in the new rid show Optimus is getting upgraded to become Optimus Supreme I'm pretty sure that Optimus Maximus is just renamed Optimus.

Better name then say Masquerade Optimus Prime.

why do all versions of this mold, even after swapping the head, seem to have lush kissable lips?

Complaining about complaining... but oh well... >:oP

Why so much hate for the G1 Arkbots being combiners?
We know that CW is chock full of retools. The moment this stuff was leaked it shoulda been very apparent that this is how it would go down. If these figures were made, then goblins came and destroyed your existing C/G Arkbots, you'd have something to complain about. But these existing doesn't taint your existing collection.

Don't like them? Don't buy them. GAWD.

You can just ignore the combiner part and if its the fact its a remold that makes you worried well Ironhide was always a repaint alongside Ratchet (Even if not same mold they have always had the same look)

It's going to be better then Universe/Classics Ironhide which has got to be one of the worst molds that Hasbro has made.

Because Transformers prefer to make love AND war.

Tried my best to like those CHUG deluxe 2.0 toys for Ironhide, Ratchet, Prowl, Bluestreak and Silverstreak. Had a tough time trying display them in robot forms without them falling apart and refusing to do stable poses.

Think the P B S guys looked great miles away. Up close the toys looked cheap and terrible. Thought the engineering ruined these toys. Joints were on the loose side.

Thought CHUG Deluxe Ironhide and Ratchet were just throw away toys. As I found nothing to like about them. the sculpts were ugly and weird looking. joints were loose. Engineering was poor.

Favorite 2.0 Deluxe Autobot was Hound. That was a solid, good looking toy. Coming with Ravage was just icing on the cake.

I just wait till we get a better non combining one eventually.

Prowl will be the first aid retool that's been seen that everyone thinks is Ratchet. Sorry buts it's actually prowl. Why have two red and white ambulances? It's going to be an police SUV that's black and White and be prowl.

Ironhide is the off-road mold with a new head

Sunstreaker is breakdown and mirage is Dragstrip. If you're reading combiner Wars then it's all there not to mention those four were found in a store database 5 months ago.

Well, so far that rumor from a few months ago is panning out about the MPs- and that did have Ironhide as MP-27... fingers crossed...

Except that the First Aid mold's retooled head lacks the central forehead crest that Prowl's helmet has, but which is a match for Ratchet's helmet, and the Streetwise mold in robot mode is pretty much just Prowl from the next down.

MP Tracks was part of that rumor, which turned out to be real, so hopefully, MP Ironhide and Ratchet are next.

I'm so jazzed about the Autobot (or Arkbot ;) ) combiner team I'm not even gonna bother defending how cool the idea is. Wanted it since I was 10. I'm just gonna stand over here doing this.

Easy mon capitan! Else you'll also fall for the trap I got entangled with a few posts ago. Repaints/remolds, if implemented properly are really the BOSS! Sandstorm, the new Wildrider and Slingshot. Are are great products! Only on I detest as a repaint is the e-hobby Orion Pax. Very limited, very expensive but very lazy recolor of G1 Kup!

Cheers, everyone. Fun conversation we have here today.

And another thing. A bit of imagination working here, but iirc, in Japan, their "Scramble City" schtick, when you mix and match the limbs, you are supposed to get different outputs for the teams. Like, putting Dragstrip and the like who have top speed abilities on the feet makes menasor move faster or vice versa on the arms gives him a multi hit fast punching ability.

Maybe that can meld in with the current fiction?

I remember reading on tfwiki about the different abilities each combiner gets with different configurations but I'm too lazy to look it up right now. I-)

I have CW Superion and when I do combine him I either go with the standard mode or what I like to call brute force mode.

Standard is RA Firefly, LA Alpha Bravo (I might get Quickslinger), RL Skydive, LL Air Raid.

Skydive and Air Raid are bulkier as legs so I think of standard mode as Superion being strong on his feet with powerful leg boosters and good with the rifle. Also, a kick in this mode will put his opponent down, followed by the stomp of doom.

Brute force mode swaps the arms with the legs, so Superion sort of "Hulks up" and becomes a bruiser with Skydive and Air Raid as the right and left arms respectively and Firefly and Alpha Bravo as the right and left legs respectively. I like to store the rifle on Superion's back as this mode is for boxing. The thinner legs provide increased agility but don't have the same thrust for flight. And while his kicks are quicker, they don't have the same force behind them to put an opponent down for good. But his one-two punch is good night and good luck.

I have no idea if that is inline with the actual cannon, I'm just basing this on how Superion looks to me. 8)

G1 Prowl. the design of Streetwise's chestplate is molded to resemble the front end of Prowl's car torso.

I love Universe 2.0 Prowl and Silverstreak (Bluestreak). I have no issues with pose-ability or play-ability. My only significant issue is when I transform Silverstreak his doors always pop off the ball joints. But they pop right back on, so no big deal. He makes great poses in a crouched position holding a large sniper rifle (I like to give him G1 Galvatron's rifle). I get his head lined up with the site and ready for sniping action. I also found a way to store the small fold up pistol in his back using the rockets to hold it in place. I think it's the best Autobot mold from Universe 2.0. I just wish the head could look up. The only reason I didn't complete the triplets with Smokescreen is because I disliked the paint job and he doesn't have the custom front end. I also don't have Red Alert because he just doesn't look as good as Sideswipe and Sunstreaker, and I never cared for the character. :PEACE:

I found Ironhide to be an epic fail in paint and design, though I was interested in Ratchet. I never found him, so I don't have either. I may get both if they are released as part of Combiner Wars, as well as the rumored Smokescreen. If I get Quickslinger then Alpha Bravo can join the cars as an alternate limb combination for Silverbolt. If Hot Spot gets retooled as RID Optimus Prime/Omega Prime then they will be perfect for him. ;)^

I really hope Hasbro gives us RID Prime (Fire Convoy).

I think this mold will look a lot better as Prowl than Streetwise with Prowl's head and paint scheme. If I didn't already have a definitive Prowl I'd want the CW one. As it is I really want that shotgun but I don't like Streetwise enough to plan on getting him. #-o

Think the shotgun will come with the rumored Smokescreen? :???:

I'm sorry. I should have been more specific. Who's version of Prowl? That doesn't look like a Datsun. Is there particular IDW artist's version?

Now that I'm looking at the pic you put up I kinda see the Classics toy. Which a lot of the IDW character designs are based on.
