I agree. Plus it would be way more appropriate.
How? The guy's a city.

As for the colors, it's just Metrotitan colors.

Well the original SG figures mostly used Unicron Trilogy molds, so using Cybertron Metroplex would be a nice nod to that.

Plus last time I checked, that "city" mode for Generations Metroplex is just the bot sitting down, legged spread. With a "misstransformation" and maybe some extra parts à la SG Megatron, Cybertron Metroplex can be a "city" as well.

Well, we've already seen what Metroplex looks like in the comics, and these comics are using the toy designs for the characters who have toys in this line.

You would like it to be the titan for next year? A redeco of the newest one?

I do want a SG Titan yes. It would be a subline one, much like Black Zarak this year, so we could have 2 next year.
Well, according to Hasbro Pulse, the subtitle of the Shattered Glass II comic story is "War on Titan" so you might actually get your wish.

Is that an Attack on Titan reference?

Except for Ultra Magnus, who used the Siege body in the comics, but we got the ER body instead?

So, I guess SG Wheeljack calls himself Slicer when infiltrating the Decepticons? Because otherwise it's really weird that Slicer's the only character that shares the same color scheme between positive and negative universes.

That bit of weirdness aside, I really like how, between SG Ultra Magnus, this toy and the extra heads from the Creatures Collide 4-pack, Hasbro's really pushing this "multiple characters in one figure" approach. The only way it could be better is if they also had replacement insignias for the SG characters, but that's mostly just perfectionist nitpicking.

The original SG Jazz and Galvatron were in G1 colors, among others.

So far, in the comics, "Slicer" is clearly Wheeljack, and is working for Ultra Magnus, having infiltrated Goldbug's troops as a scientist. So it would seem that Shattered Glass Wheeljack is really into espionage. I'd wager they went with Shattered Glass Wheeljack as a happy little coincidence to homage a Shattered Glass character AND a very rarely depicted obscure Generation 1 character. Which is good, because the more people that are interested in getting these figures, the more likely Hasbro is to continue the line!

They could easily do this again with a Shattered Glass Metroplex that doubles as a Generation 1 Metrotitan. People have been foaming at the mouth for a proper Metrotitan toy for a while now, especially considering his presence in the old IDW run and Takara Legends comics. They just need to put a little effort in to replace Legacy Metroplex's head, and maybe replace the buzzsaw axe with something that becomes City-mode kibble creatively.

Btw, recent in-hand photos from the designer shows that Shattered Glass Slicer has a Purple Decepticon Insignia, and not a Red one.

... which is in line with the previous homage:

Transformers Shattered Glass Flamewar and Fireglide Revealed

We thank AcademyofDrX for letting us know of a new post from In Demand Toys on Facebook. They reveal a new Flamewar toy made from the Legacy Arcee mold. It will be sold through the Shattered Glass line with Fireglide. This line is exclusive to Pulse in the US but not for the rest of the world, since it will also be available through In Demand Toys for instance.

Let us know what you think!

Ugh....add another figure to the list that I have no interest in, but comes with a cool Battle Master. If anyone getting this wants to part with it, PM me.

I was pretty pissed at how Legacy Prime Arcee was made. It didn't look like her at all.
But this Flamewar? Man, what a beauty! I must have her. I do hope she'll be available outside Pulse in Canada. She will look great beside my Botcon original.

So, who are Hasbro pretending she's the SG version of? Arcee? 'Cuz no SG character had Flamewar's deco.

Well, she's got a red Decepticon logo, so she is the character advertised on the package. Apparently negative-universe Flamewar dresses like positive-universe Flamewar. Maybe she's a robot goth?

I know nothing of the character. But just looking at TF wiki really quick....looks like she originally had the more traditional purple/black Decepticon colors, then Wings Universe changed her look.

So maybe SG Flamewar is basically looking like Wings Universe -current Flamewar, as opposed to her original appearance?

Her original toy was black and red.

As for her character, Ben Yee originally created her as a super-loyal Decepticon fully devoted to the cause, and a total G1 Megatron fangirl.

Less flatteringly, her name was meant to be a joke about us, the Transformers fandom in general, and our tendency to bicker about everything under the sun.

When she reappeared in the BotCon 2014 Wing Universe story, she became the subject of much criticism in how Hayato Sakamoto exaggerated her feminine features in the artwork and drew her in such an objectified manner.

She only recently became popular when IDW started using her in their 2019 comics, writing her in a way that readers really liked, to the point that people actually started arguing for her TFWiki mainpic to be of that version of her instead of her original design.

So they've opted to give Shattered Glass Flamewar nearly the same Deco as the "G1" version. It's smart, I'll give them that, since they've been on a kick that more recent figures can double as a Shattered Glass OR G1 Character. It helps sell the toys, since it's appealing to a larger crowd that way.

Plus, it's not UNHEARD of for Shattered Glass characters to have a nearly identical Deco to their positive counterparts. SG Jazz immediately springs to mind.

Seems like a waste. Too similar to regular Flamewar. Did they just not have a slot for her so they figured SG could do double duty and be both regular and SG FW?

Well. I wouldn't have gotten it either way.

Most likely. That seems to be the MO for SG this wave. Slicer is doing the same thing and Ultra Magnus is pulling several homages out of his trailer

I have the "Beast Hunters" Flamewar. I need that Energon one but I bet she cost an arm and a leg.

Also, further proof that the SG line is whatever Hasbro wish it to be, comics be damned.
A SG Metroplex based on the upcoming Legacy is still highly possible.

Only if we get a Wave 3. This makes the fifth out of the five Wave 2 figures known: Blaster, Ultra Magnus, Slicer, Soundwave, and now Flamewar.
