I'm pretty excited by this. Like others have mentioned having the Hasbro MP Rodimus, I'll use this as Hot Rod..although I still have Carry coming, and if I'm gonna run this guy as Hot Rod I really need the MP09 release..crap!! Why?! :lol:lol:lol

In season 1 and 2 while on earth the "Drones" were reflector and Insecticon clones. Now that I think of it once the Insecticons were introduced it was mostly their clones as the grunts. Season 3 we had the sweet sweeps.

In the pilot episodes, Ultimate Doom nd the one were Optimus was severely injured that they needed the Cosmotron doo hickey. Yup. You're both right.

I'm sad to see this thread descend into MP09 bashing :(

I mean, I've read the horror stories-QC was awful, sure. But that's not the toys fault. The only design issues I have are the tolerances and clearances on the legs, considering the way they transform, was bad, and the hands suck. A compromise had to be reached for Rodimus alt. mode, but...I think he's well cool.

But then, I'm a Roddy fan boy ;) He has pride of place in my room.

That said, I look forward to a new scale 'Hot-Rod'. But I do firmly agree other characters really need the MP treatment. It's not cool keep re-doing stuff.

Interested to see what this one will look like though. And bought, of course :D

Ehhhh... I kinda want an MP Chromedome or some of the other Headmasters. Those are really the only Japanese Transformers I actually like a lot.

Before God Ginrai, Chromedome or anyother decepticons, I think it is quite important for Takara to finish what they started with the Dinobots. They wont though, but I do feel this is what they should do. Each of them has redeco potential for either Diaclone or G2 or both. From what I read here when I asked my "amount of season 1 Decepticons" question, it seems you could just buy a whole bunch of sunstorms and acid storms and have them be drones. I think that idea blows personally, but it is a way to beef up your Decepticon army while we wait for them to move onto the next phase of triple changers and smaller decepticon robots (and shockwave).

Looking forward to this. Never had this character before (in either of his incarnations), except for the Choro-Q.

I think a Prowl-sized Hot Rod will look cool next to Optimus Prime, Magnus and the other cars.

I'm not opposed to "troop building" as such, if they're TF:P Vehicons ... but Masterpieces? No. That's just way too much space and money.

Yes, I'm disappointed that they're going back and re-doing a character like Hot Rod, but on the flip side, I currently display the first release as Rodimus Prime, so I'll be able to display this new release as Hot Rod and hopefully he'll be different enough to not look like just a smaller Rodimus Prime.

For those who do love the MP-09 mold and already own him, having the new MP of Hotrod will not be for naught. Not like MP-03 VS MP-11. Because MP-09 can still stand tall and proud ad Rodimus Prime! ;)

I love Rodimus and the flaws that MP-09 has don't bother me too much. The biggest issue I always had was the lackluster Hot Rod/Rodimus modes. It was made to be one of them and the slight tweaking to make the other was never enough. And the car altmode is just too damn big. This new one will settle all of those issues once and for all. MP-09 will be Rodimus forever and MP-?? will be Hot Rod. Now I need an MP Arcee. Get on it, Takara!

Unless his arms fall off, then he's not quite as proud, but still tall! ;)

That's what stopped me from getting MP-09. Za expoding zhoulderz!

2016? I can only pray.

Heck, few years back, I read a rumor that the D-bots are already in blue print state just waiting for a green light.

Source? Just a verbal blowhard mod from an Asian site so I put it at 50/50 accuracy. Same guy who (disproven by the recent re-release of Lambor) stated that the previous images of planned re-issues of MP for Asia was false/fake, with the exception of MP-10.

I'm actually quite surprised that there hasn't been an Air Warrior version of the MP Seekers yet. If Hasbro did one they'd definitely not sit around on shelves very long. The only season 1 Decepticon that doesn't have an updated MP10 scale toy is Megatron so at this point they're rather trying to finish off the season 1 Autobots or just doing whatever they can get the licencing for.

Hound (rumoured)

Other molds to squeeze?

Ratchet's a no brainer, and I'd love to see Hound.

Didn't Dai Atlus come in ahead of Ginrai in the fan poll? I'd love to see an MP attempt at a city bot. I'm ok with Ginrai, but only if Godbomber is included as well

The poll was a one off thing. Some people seem to think that they're going to make other the choices too but so far only Primal is confirmed, again as a one off for the 20th anniversary of Beast Wars.

We're looking at getting both Hot Rod and Optimus Primal in the same year!

I wasn't taking the poll as gospel, just saying that TT designers might use it to gauge perceived interest in MPs of those characters
