What is the biggest river in Egypt?

The Nile..... are you seriously resulting to trying to insult my intelligence and or age? and here i thought this wasn't the youtube comment section... seriously guys, when arguing about a transformer figure, don't insult the other person... especially over a toy.....

I might also suggest that you accept you were wrong, admit defeat, and stop trying to antagonize everyone who did more than their fair share giving you the burden of proof to refute your "upsizing the AoE mold" theory. Also, it would help you to do a little bit of studying on how the toy industry actually works, particularly how these toys are really made (not to mention what makes something a knock-off).

I will not back down from something simply because everyone is threatening me and think i'm wrong. i'll believe in what i want and you will believe in what you want. sorry that expressing my opinions on a figure came off as antagonizing, not like others were insulting me or anything...

I can see Octo's point of view in that Legendary and Evasion look the same, just upsized, to the untrained eye and even transform the same. To some, that already makes it a "retool", or directly based on the original toy. Just an upsized copy, nothing more, nothing we haven't had before, look at the last wave of Beast Hunters toys or better yet, the Authentics range.

However, closer looks do reveal several key differences, in detailing and transformation points (the whole transformation is just guess work at this point since we've yet to see the figure properly in action), even if the majority is the same. That may not really matter to some, it all depends on personal definitions. The majority does consider it an all-new mold (including yours truly), based on the fact that:

- it's upscaled
- has differences in key points with the original and whatnot

Fine if one doesn't, not the end of the world. What does need to be acknowledged is that:

- toys in the past have copied transformations and engineering, sometimes fully, despite difference in size. Examples a-plenty, and exactly what Legendary is doing.
- both toys are based on the AoE movie model, thus by nature, share detailing

That's it, nothing more, nothing less.

Just a friendly reminder guys, we all have our own opinions.

Opinions =/= Facts.

It's one thing to disagree and debate with someone, but there's no need to be condescending/rude/insulting/etc about it.

Right or wrong, don't be a dick about it.

Cheers.

Ontopic:

Is it me or is that Bumblebee huge? Or is the ugy tiny?

I don't have interest in the Evasion Optimus, I have my broken chrome voyager and he's good enough.

What I'm greatly interested in is that Voyager sized Optmus. He looks very G1! And doesn't have that huge front grill piece thing that Hasbro's has.
Atleast it doesn't look like that.
I hope there will be at least one version without it.
Finally a true Voyager G1 Generations Optimus Prime, I've been looking for a good cab front = torso voyager for years now. And even the Power of the Primes one couldn't do that.
But after a ton of years, finally!

So very excited for that, also that new Ultra Magnus. Siege looks so good, a new Sideswipe! And of course Ironhide, who hasn't had a decent toy since.. well he never had one. The Classics was meh.

That Fortress Maximus little Weaponizer guy looks very cool! I love the idea of a Deluxe being a gun drone tripple changer.
Hound looks amazing, Micromasters look great and I want them!
I always tought they were better than minicons since they look more uniform and solid. Sparkplug is cool and all, but kind of flimsy.

Not that interested in the exclusive Titans Returns figures since they're too expensive for me.

When is Siege coming out people? I know Power of the Primes just hit the Dutch market, got 2 Dinobots last week.

Yeah the bee in these pictures looks a lot bigger than i thought he would be.... i'm actually tempted now... as for the WFC optimus, he looks very nice, and the alt mod isn't another purely G1 cab... probably going to buy them both.... i'm sure my wallet can take it.... i think.

MP Hound flew off my radars: glad to see a new MP mold, even if it's another Autobot.

Maybe it'll be repurposed as Detritus... and by the way, I'm still waiting for an official Bug Bite... do you hear me, e-HOBBY? :-D

Speaking of MPs, I'm not very fond of the new OP. While I understand that the line is focusing on a batter resemblance to the original cartoons, I still like a bit more detail on such expensive figures.
I'll stick to the original MP-10 mold - to the B variant more precisely, since I'm collecting only 'cons... unless the inevitable (?) new black repaint comes out with a RiD Scourge-esque trailer.

Hi Res Scans of Figure King Magazine With Legendary Optimus, Siege, MP Optimus V3 and More

Thanks to Loopaza, we now have high resolution scans of the latest issue of the Figure King Magazine, issue 247. Oddly enough, the big highlight in this issue is Power Charge Bumblebee from the upcoming Bumblebee Movie line. So yes, a gimmick centered toy aimed at kids is the most promoted item of Takara this month. We get to see a big promo shot we had not seen in yesterday's news.

Aside from Bee, we also have a lot of images of Legendary Optimus Prime and an image comparing it to the voyager Evasion Mode Optimus Prime, showing it to be the size of a modern day leader class toy (or just about). Speaking of scale, we also see how big Micromasters are, which is the exact same size as the Prime Master decoy armour (so slightly bigger than their G1 counterparts).

We also see other Transformers Siege toys, but nothing that has yet to be revealed. Thanks to these high resolution images, we can finally see that this is the final product with weathering effects. They are simply less pronounced in the final toy than what we had seen from Hasbro which was only digital renders and painted prototypes. So this tells us that as expected, the brand unification is in full effect and the weathering won't be as intense, especially since that would mean a lot more paint applications than usual.

We also see Masterpiece Optimus Prime version 3 which highlights his articulation and backpack.

And there is more, much more, like Takara Tomy Studio Series Starcream, Movie Bumblebee and KSI Sentry, MPM-06 Ironhide, Encore Big Convoy, Studio Series DOTM Ratcher, Ironhide and Shadow Raider, PP Throne of The Primes, Masterpiece Wheeljack, Legends Grotusque and Repugnus and the Unite Warriors reissues.

Sideswipe has the weathering so it’s probaky just takara painted proto

Sadly, the weathering effects will not be avoided, we see them better now in the new scans:

You can at least see it on Optimus's thigh and wheel. I am not a big fan because this seems like they didnt really go all the way. Reminds me of Beast Hunters Wheeljack.

I asked about that at SDCC to the Hasbro team. I misspoke with my question by asking if Cog could transform into the individual robot modes for Gasket and Grommet. As I was asking the question, I was really thinking for some reason that Gasket and Grommet had individual robot modes, when in fact they do not and not sure what I was mixing them up with.

Cog is amazing, by the way. Way to take a BS character and make him awesome.

I'm definitely getting excited for SIEGE. I'm also pretty pumped with that upscale retool and redeco of Evasion Optimus.

Pretty sure that's what it is.

I mean, who'd leave those elbows ON PURPOSE?!

I must say, though, that the scaled back weathering effects look much better to me. A little does really go a long way. It should help the Siege figures fit in that much better with the rest of the Classics/Universe/Generations line. These high resolution scans also make Optimus Prime's red look a whole lot more on model. The low resolution scans before made him look almost hot pink.

Apparently Takara. I've heard of a glass jaw, but a glass elbow?

Any prices on that big boy yet? Not sure if I can justify him and emop.

I mean, you get me. Clearly. ;)^

Who else is guessing $79.99 USD? Pretty standard leader price for a Takara piece. Or, $89.99.

Definitely one of my favourites too. Fingers crossed for the likes of Six-Gun, Slammer and Brunt.

Exactly. Less is more with the "battle worn" paint apps. The understated details tell a better story and make a better figure than the over-the-top painted by hand details Hasbro showed off at SDCC. Now, if only they could have shown as much restraint with the "greebling" on some of the figures. Poor Chromia probably got it worst, and Ultra Magnus isn't much better, unfortunately.

I like the Greebling on Magnus, looks interesting on Cromia. But this a new effort. Let's see how these look in person.
