So, we are doing a family vacation roadtrip, Indiana to North Carolina, driving overnight, because sleeping toddlers are more fun in a car. Anywho, to help keep me awake, I've been stopping at various Wal-Mart's along the way to check out the toy selection. We are currently in West Vergina, outside of Charlseton, at my 10th Wal-Mart.

Man, I have not seen ****. Seriously. The closest thing I've seen to new selection is a RiD Thunderhoof, and a lone TR Scourge.

I am disappointed.

I have found the more places I visit the less I seem to find. Probably just in my head though :BANG_HEAD:

William, your Walmart's Transformers section looks like most of the toy section on a good day at my Walmart actually. They cease to keep it stocked well enough. I barely find anything. So I either do my shopping for Transformers and other toys at TRU or Target. I check hope against hope, it's more like that than not though unfortunately.

Thats too bad. Walmart is supposedly the reason TRU lost their competitive edge as being the number 1 toy retailer in North America. But I dont know, TRU seems to be on top of things lately and they definitely beat Walmart at supply (at least in my area).

I went to look at the two US websites for these retailers adn the selection was comparable. But you know what wasnt? Price!
And its not at all what I have been reading. Everytime someone talks of terrible prices, its always in reference to Toysrus. But I dont see it. Walmart seems to be the one with the worst prices here.

TRUcom has normal standard prices (even when not discounted): http://www.toysrus.com/family/index.jsp ... 896&ppg=96

So why dont people just buy from TRU.com?

Walmart is way worse, check this:

http://www.walmart.com/ip/TRA-RID-WARRI ... E/45057711

Even Buzzsaw is above MSRP, why?

http://www.walmart.com/ip/Transformers- ... e/45057731

And these arent even third party sellers, its ship and sold by walmart. None of it makes any sense to me.

Maybe, it's definitely not a down south thing. We used to have one Walmart that I scored a bunch of timely releases at. Well that gravy train has dried up.

The Targets in my area are normally the best place to find new figures with our TRU being a rando second.

Ima make a lunch time run and see if I get lucky. Going loop TJ Max in there, I've heard they've been getting some interesting stuff.

Yeah the Marvel stuff is always decently stocked when I go into my Walmart. So it's kind of like "eh! Come on!" for me.

So right now my closest Walmart has one Scourge left after their case of Wave 1. So unless the forget they need new stock they *should* get Wave 2. Unless they restock with Wave 1 again. On a less recent product note, this same Walmart has THREE Leader Grimlocks. At FULL PRICE. :BOOM: :BANG_HEAD: :HEADHURTS:

Wait... Three of AOE Leader Grimlock?! And at full price?! Uhm... Kinda holding on to the past there with a death/kung fu grip it seems.

My local walmart has discontinued its Transformers section save for some RiD one-step for now. Don't plan on restocking with TR until the old stuff is gone... at full price...

Otherwise, target and TRU only have Wheeljacks and Whirls. Nothing new RiD or TR.

Walmart is usually my best brick and mortar option. Tru sucks and target is usually a bit weaker than Walmart. It makes me sad to have only seen rewind

Target finally did it's summer reset! Unfortunately, Titans Return was represented by a sole Loudmouth.

Will, that pic looks so much like my Wal-Mart, even the turtle shell laying haphazard on top of the other toys. I had to look closely to see if it actually was my store.

But yeah, I'm putting in a cry vote for all my stores. I've checked Something like 6 Walmarts, 5 Targets, and a Toys R Us every week(sometimes more often than that) and all I've found was Scourge, Blurr, Rewind, and Stripes(latter of which I passed on). I was really hoping to find the other deluxes and a slew of Titanmasters. I'm sure I'll have to buy Fort Max online so not too worried about seeing him in stores.

Just a shame because I was so hyped for the TR hunt and now I'm sorta over it. Trying to price out a good place online to get it all in one fell swoop.

Honestly, I'm in the same boat. I mean there's additional stores about 15-30 miles away, where I'm at is a fairly decent sized city though. They had squat though unfortunately. So I resorted to getting things online and suffering through a modest markup for it in a way. My Galvy was not that bad though in terms of markup and Scourge and CW Cyclonus were also decently priced. The only place I could've gotten a better deal for them was HasbroToyShop, which actually put the TR stuff up after the fact I ordered elsewhere.

On that note, none of my local stores carried CW Devastator actually. The only place to get him is online actually. So that sucks a bit. It'll probably be the same with Fort Max and eventually Trypticon. If I remember correctly the same thing happened with Metroplex.

Yeah, thats what I heard happeneind in the US. The only place that did stock him in stores was Costco but I dontk know if that counts. I am waiting for Fort Max to get go costco to buy him.

There is a reason stores dont stock those toys though, they take a lot of shelf space and not alot of people buy them. So they are better off using that space for more RID toys or Generations Voyagers that have a better chance of selling. I preffer to find stuff in stores myself but for big items like Fort Max or Devastator, I find it more pleasant to just have the mailman deliver it to my door :)

Well you need a membership to get into Costco I believe. It's kind of similar to Sam's Club though. We don't have any here where I'm at in Ohio. I'm in the Akron/Canton area at least.

This is very true. I've got my eye on Devastator right now online. The price is decent enough at least so that's good. Probably going to have to wait until next month before I try to get it though as I need to wait for my next check.

TRU on the other hand looks very nice, as always, but still no deluxes. Wave 2 titanmasters though.

And soooooooo many RID Starscreams. That means PowerSurge Optimus is selling really well though as there was only one of him left.

Well, one of the two Toys R Us' near me is remodeling and completely butchered their Transformers selection to an endcap for deluxes and smaller, and a single shelf for everything else, which was mostly taken up by a few Fort Maxs. Glad I got Galvatron there before the voyagers were thrown into oblivion.

Though I pre-ordered Fort Max online, I did find it at my local Brooklyn TRU and at another TRU in Queens. It does appear to be readily available in the NYC area. The box was noticeably heavier than Devy to me, so I'll be perfectly happy having the mailman deliver it to me as well.
