Yes, he has the most views for Transformers content on YouTube and is already on influencer lists for these topics, which is why he also got a sneak peak by Paramount for their Rise of the Beasts unveiling.

Also, this isn't a stolen copy, and the toy isn't out, so there are less options as to how he may have gotten it.

I get that, but the other stuff is supposedly stolen. So, are we to believe he's legit with Hasbro who would have to have some inkling of how he's getting his stuff?

I think we have to take it as a case by case basis and just stick with the facts. let's not assume anything other than what we know.
Remember, so far, his legitmacy with new stuff is only linked to licenced content and he gets contacted by PR firms, so he's twice removed from Hasbro with this particular Lego set.
He probably gets similar e-mails to the ones we (Seibertron) gets. While we get official behind the scenes look at stuff, it isn't form Hasbro proper but from an independent PR company Hasbro's own marketting team outsourced. Some folks at Hasbro may be aware of what PVP does, but the third party PR firm is not. They are paid to get the most buzz for certain things and will do that assignment. If it means contacting PVP, then that's what they will do.

If you want, I can make it simple. If it's stuff others get at the same time, then odds are it's legit. If it's stuff no one else gets and there is no proper documentation (I.E. a box) then it isn't.

We could just wait for Dan Larson of Toy Galaxy to put up his own livestream build of the set, since he got a sample early too.

There's plenty of folks with it, have been for at least a week. But, none of them are as funny as Dan and Toy Galaxy. I'd wager it's their production values that's holding them up.

Not to derail this any further, because I do so tire of these PvP conversations, but these seem pertinent.

Have you ever contacted their PR team? Gotta be proactive about this sort of thing sometimes. Send them an email every time you upload a review, eventually they'll catch on. At my old job with Tomopop we would always send our review links to the companies that made them, even if they didn't send them to us. At our height we were even getting free stuff from BBTS and HLJ (which is how I got my TT Titan Metroplex). Then our sister site Destructoid got sold and we were shut down by the new parent company, I really miss those days.

If you are a blogger and are interested in any of our Hasbro brands or products, please send your request in writing to hasbrobrandpr@hasbro.com.

See! It already happened without happening! I actually mistyped, I meant I'll probably miss out on the regular orders.

It should be in production and generally available for two to three years, so that shouldn't happen. The initial stock will probably sell out online overnight and in-store early the following day, so missing that is easy enough to do.

Any idea when this will go up tomorrow? Apparently it's going to be exclusive to the lego store at first then other retailers will get it down the line.

Midnight ET for the US site. I'm going to be camping out, virtually speaking. Only time I haven't been able to get a set was a convention exclusive, but the demand for this is going to be wild.

Which hopefully bodes well for future Lego Transformers projects.

Got my order in. Time to go back to bed I think.
And by bed I mean go sit on the couch and watch dodgy renovation shows and play Pokemon Go until the sun comes up in an hour.

They're using a queueing system tonight. I think I've gone through this before when big Star Wars UCS sets have dropped. It's late, hopefully I get in sooner than later.

Not usual, but not unprecedented. Consistently happens for certain high profile events like May the Fourth, when UCS sets go on sale and there are limited numbers of GWP sets. I've been waiting for fifteen minutes though, that's a long time. I would have tried to access the site even sooner if I knew I was going to be dropped into a queue.

I got in right after I posted the reply above. I was planning to get a different June 1st set too, but sometimes it takes a few days for everything to be available.

Optimus Prime Lego Set Now Available on Lego Site

It's June 1st, the release date of the Optimus Prime Lego set. As of right now, this set is only available on the Lego websites and the Lego stores. In the US, it runs for 169.99 which, while some may see as high, corresponds to the average price to parts ratio in licensed sets.

Let us know what you think of this set and if you will be getting one.
