From what I can tell, a flawless figure. Looks fantastic. Glad I got my preorder in.

Now, they said the next masterpiece was going to be announced at Tokyo toyfair. Are the next figures Ravage and Rumble/Frenzy? Or are we going to get another suprise?

They will be released in a pack by themselves, my sources say. I know Soundblaster will come with a cassette, but perhaps he comes with them all?

I think a seperate pack of cassetes is a good idea and I would be all over it too. But can we expect the cassettes to be labelled MP15 or is there another reveal coming?

Exciting times. I'm loving this line.

I have a whole cassette collection thing going on, so these being backwards compatable is a thing for me.

Acousticwave has been cancelled for some time now. The company making it has gone under.

That was never confirmed, and if you look at the 2nd page of that topic, there's a brief explaination from Sidecutter regarding some difficulties related to getting the product out.

I'm thrilled Takara is producing MP Soundwave, but will still consider picking up an Acoustic Wave if it were released. Besides, this group also teased a prototype MP Blaster. How long do you think we'd have to wait for an official release of that guy?

For me, the more the merrier.

I may also pick up AW under the exact same logic, but the thrill for it has just been cut down by a substancial margin. Those tapes were always what drew me to AW and now it seems the official release has all of them already.

I'm sure that due to their lack of size they won't be labelled such, but rather a MP-13n side.

there is no more acoustic wave.. so you won't be able to pick it up.

That's the best looking, most accurate Laserbeak I've ever seen.

That's the best looking, most accurate Soundwave I've ever seen (they FINALLY got the scale of his chest accurate to the cartoon, which always looked better IMO and was way too large on the original toy).

My preorder on BBTS has been in since it went up and that isn't going to change. Mine mine mine mine mine :D!

The price is very steep if the only cassette it comes with is Laserbeak...unless it also comes with working electronics of some kind. (I.e., can actually play music, not just make sound effects.)

Otherwise, I'm happy to hear the news, and I'm happy I preordered at BBTS, but don't see how Soundwave + Laserbeak is worth $170.

If Starscream+Coronation Set is worth $160 (and that's a pretty big IF), then Soundwave+Laserbeak is DEFINITELY worth $170.

Wait a minute!!!! So Buzz Saw, Ravage and Frenzy/Rumble will be coming separately next year!?! WHAT!!!!!

Anyways. I wouldn't mind TT sticking in a cheap MP3 player inside the toy. Even those 5$ micro MP# players would do. :D

They did that with Music label Soundwave. It was a pitiful. >:oP

Great figure, though.

Are you serious? this is what Acoustic Wave looked like. I am not seeing an articulated G1 toy there. To be honest the TT one is more of an Articulated G1 toy.

I really wish the official product had a bit more detailing in him, it looks too plain for the Masterpiece line. Look how much detailing went into MP-10. Oh well, I'm just glad that we are getting an official Soundwave. Laserbeak sells me on the TT product of course. I want a Buzzsaw, Ravage and Frumble next please. Do it like your Encore line and release a pack of tapes.

I thing fantoys version looks better to with way more detail. Mp-13 is nice but hes kinda plain and it's nice to see all the stuff he's coming with and not just one tape

surely even the cheapest MP3 player would be able to hold "Soundwave superior" "<insert cassetticon name here>: eject" and the transforming sound? if it isn't adding too much to the price, I'd be okay with it, but it's not a huge deal one way or the other.

I'm more worried about where it's goin'. By which, I mean the tapes. I'd hope we'll get at least Ravage, the Purple One, the Black One and Ratbat as well as Laserbeak. I don't give a damn about Buzzsaw since he never EVER did anything of note. The prototypes there seem nice enough. It'd be cool if the size was the same as the G1 tapes, since that seems to be the dimensions that the majority of tapes fit into, be they official or not.

Also, I'd like an eventual Blaster set, but not too bothered about it too quick. Blaster is ok and all, but Soundwave is the mainstream Tape Player TF, and there's a bunch more iconic characters we could do with first.

Only downside for this figure, might be the size, and the price. I'd ideally like to see SW fit with Classics, at least in robot mode, but if he's going to be much bigger than the original, he's going to be well too big. Not sure I can pass on him though, even if he is a giant, he's certainly one of the most memorable characters and alt modes.

takara is going for cartoon accuracy.. i can't recall that much detail on the cartoon model.. can you? no.

i think people make too much about small little line details and what not. acoustic wave had way too much unnecessary detailing.

takara's version is perfect. we don't need a bunch of ridiculous detail that is just going to fade away when the color gets put on.

Not in the cartoon, but he got plenty of action scenes to himself in the very first four issues of Marvel G1. ;)

Soundwave is awesome and so are the tapes. I am sure that Ravage's booster rockets are part of the transformation. And thank you Takara for including the pile driver's for Frenzy/Rumble.

The color test shots look right on the money for Soundwave and Sideswipe.

The accessories for Soundwave look great. The Megatron gun is perfect. Can never have too many of those.

So we are going to need to wait another year for the release of the cassette minions?

I posted earlier that I have all of these on pre-order, and love the way they look.

I have to agree with others here though that Sideswipe, and Red Alert should have rubber tires.

Please tell me these pics are just a pre-production, and that rubber tires will be on the production versions.

If not, it's not the end of the world, but for me it would take away a little from an otherwise perfect G1 MP toy.

I'm assuming the final production piece will have tires. I'm guessing this is just for the protos.
