It's a $10 dollar (or less) toy that also serves as a leg for Combiner. Compared to the last time Hasbro tried to make a Combiner on a budget, this is great.

Overall it was a good reveal session.

Metal hawk is perfect
Glad to have the others officially revealed
Grimlock is...well
Shrapnel's robot mode is amazing, not so much for his alt mode. I'd say the old legends figure does better there.
Still don't know why they ruined the movie designs

Now that you mention it, yeah, if they ever end up making new toys of Landmine/Lander, Waverider/Diver, and/or Cloudburst/Phoenix, Metalhawk will be much bigger than his pals, whom he's supposed to be the same size as.

Then again, they did also just do this same thing to Skullgrin towering over both Iguanus and Bomb-Burst, so I guess Hasbro just doesn't care, unfortunately.

With the core class Bomb-Burst and Iguanas, I guess the case could be made that they are "smaller representations" just like Prime, Megatron etc... But with Skullgrin being Deluxe, and now Metalhawk being a Voyager yeah that is unfortunate.

However I grabbed this shot from the opening of MF. Metalhawk is almost as tall a Ginrai in standard form (basically Optimus Prime). I know Cyclonus is a tall Voyager (especially with the rabbit ears), so it will basically be decision I have to wait on until people have Metalhawk in hand. If he is taller than say ER/Kingdom Prime, I'm not sure if I'll make the purchase, but if he is the same height, or a bit shorter, I can probably work with it.

The difference between Voyager and Deluxe height is negligible, especially since there are short and tall Deluxes. Put down the rulers, y'all, and play with your toys.

No offense toy your collecting style but I prefer the slight differences in height, I don't want bumble bee to be the same height as Smokescreen, or Jazz being the same height as Ironhide or Prime etc.

Also confirmed a normal classic colored Holiday Optimus Prime.

They also joked around about a Optimus Prime as a firetruck but not confirming anything. :-?

We are getting a firetruck Prime next year with the Voyager animated Prime. So more of a hint than a joke.

There isn't much here that really catches my eye, Prowl is the only one I've pre-ordered, I may get Skyquake too, and while Metalhawk does look good I'm undecided on getting him. I find it hilarious that they felt the need for that "Through the Space Bridge" segment of upcoming reveals, it's like they're admitting that the leaks are way ahead of them but they don't actually want to bring attention to said leaks. Either way, I'm excited for Armada Megatron and I might even pick up Dirge if I can.

Crashbar's name makes me think of a certain song by the Clash. Know which one? ;) Gotta make it a point to get all Junkions...

And Grimlock what did they do to you? Seriously tho, I understand the reasoning and it does fit with a trend of (parts of) Grimlock's rear half needing to be bigger when a Combiner (him not being a "boxy" shape like the others plays a part in that), but still... You know, I may get them just because I like them as a case study in complex toy designs. Besides, Bandai's Super Sentai/Power Rangers toys, specifically the separate humanoid ones (Shogun, Zeo and Turbo) weren't that much different. Snarl or Swoop should be next, with Skar last.

Skyquake has my attention, because I really like Prime Dreadwing's design. I may wait for redecos though, especially if a G1 EU colored one is in the pipeline.

So, Twincast has the retooled smirk face that showed up awhile back on a normal Blaster by mistake, which everyone thought was either a photoshopped hoax or meant for SG Blaster.

They also said that he's not Blaster himself, but a Shockwave-made clone that went awry.

I like that Skyquake, and since I have breakage issues with the original mold, this would be a good way of adding him to my prime collection. My only issue is the size. Were Dreadwing and Skyquake larger/taller than megatron? I thought they were around the same height.

And that Grimlock is not great but this is further proof that while the designers do think of fans when making a lot of these figures, we do not figure much in them designing the core class. It's very much for a different market than the fans not finding it good looking.

Grimlock is mistransformed in the official stock photography. Here's how he's supposed to look:

Nothing really stood out to me, some nice looking Bots no doubt, just not in my collecting focus.
I do think the mix and match with Junkions is cool feature I'm just waiting for the moment it no longer works well, hence wear & tear. Once they get more to work with the options could be really cool.

That said Crosscut was kind of neat for a repaint, and Shrapnel looked good. I won't be getting because I already have the older Legends versions and they work better for me.

The only thing that really piqued my interest was the pipeline reveal of Devcon.

Skyquake is a definite pickup. Looks awesome.

Nemesis is well nemesis. nothing to write home about.

Grimlock is o.k. Maybe I'll pick him up. just because he's Grimlock and I have a thing about getting Grimlocks.

Crosscut does nothing for me, easy pass.

I like Shrapnel, and since I already have Kickback, I can't just skip him.

Twincast is o.k. But don't have any real attachment to him, so unless he's deeply clearances I probably won't bother.

And I'll probably break down and get Metalhawk. I just love how they just rotated Cyclonus' arms forward for his jet mode, and gave him a new cockpit / nose cone. Means I can just rotate them back and have a steak back swept wing look.

Really great use of Cyclonus here.

Well I guess "Holiday Prime in normal Optimus colors" sorts out the mystery of that "EVO Leader Optimus" listing that no one knew anything about.

I'm impressed by how different they made Metalhawk's alt mode be compared to Cyclonus, and he's got more accessories to boot? Yeah, he'll definitely be a buy from me.

Surprised by how hench Shrapnel looks. I was kinda expecting/pulling for electricity blast effects, but bug leg guns are cool too. I can't find any eyes on his alt mode though, which is weirding me out (although not enough that I intend to skip him, it's my only real critique). The assumed Chop Shop from this is gonna look niiiice.

None of these Cores appeal to me, but I already knew that would be the case when the names leaked. Cool to see Nemesis has the axe from Optimus's instructions though.

Prowl & Skyquake still look great, as does Crashbar (he's a real boy now, he's got a name and everything), and I guess I'm still getting Twincast for Rewind.

Might grab Crosscut if he goes on sale like Skids has? The red wheels are still weird but they're basically my only complaint.

So they made a point of saying that those pipeline reveals aren't necessarily the next wave....but according to the product numbers and leaks we have, Armada Megs, Beachcomber, and Devcon are all definitely next wave, so are the Voyagers out of order or was that statement a meaningless disclaimer? Also, is Axlegrease gonna be the remaining Deluxe Junkion or the Voyager....

Of the figures we have images of, Shrapnel and Skyquake are the most appealing ones to me here.

Twincast is tempting, but I can't justify buying a whole voyager figure just for Rewind.

Core grimlock looks hilarious, so cute
Don't care about Nemesis Prime

Sharif don't like it! Rock the Crashbar! Getting this guy
Still getting Prowl of course
Don't care about Crosscut
Shrapnel looks cool! I already have fansproject insecticons though and I really don't like legacy Kickback. Maybe I'll get the chop shop out of this guy

Twincast is still a nope for me
Metalhawk is a definite yes now, love the weapons too

Skyquake looking great as ever

And im excited for copy convoy and devcon

Whenever I hear it, my brain constructs a music video that uses a lot of footage from Thief in the Night.

And now that I've seen his red feet in addition to the wheels, I'm enthusiastic to get what will be repurposed in my collection as Shattered Glass Crosscut, the alien diplomat who runs over/stomps any and all local fauna, leaving a trail of bloody pulp in his wake.

Maybe the red plastic shouldn't make me think of the tips of Nemesis-Big-Convoy's tusks, but it does every time I see new pics.

Everything else looks great! Hope some of it goes on sale.

I caught that also, but I thought it was a name drop error ( they themselves admit they get confused about names sometimes) I thought he meant Soundwave.

Anyway, while it's cool to have a different take on Soundblaster in the WFC Netflix show, Soundblaster & Twincast will for me, always be the upgrades to Soundwave and Blaster ( Just as Galvatron is the Rebuilt Megatron) despite him not being so in some universes.

Shockwave's the one who does experiments. It's apparently a Dreamwave reference.
