Oh for sure! If they do Deathsaurus the aftermarket price take off. Just like when Black Zarak caused the aftermarket price of Legends Grand Maximus to triple and even quadruple since Takara Tomy made less than 2,000 of them. Not sure if Victory Saber will quite go that high, but it'd go up quite a bit.

That's another fine retail product you've sourced funded us into.

All seriousness aside, I think we need a top 5 transformers packaging list at some point.

In your shoes, I'd be not only salty, I'd bee peppered too with a parsley garnish on top of my head.
Especially because the fact that on top of being just plain brown, that box is HUGE.

Well, Unicron and was originally supposed to be a Selects toy. That's why his box was brown cardboard.

Was gonna say the same thing. I tend to throw away my boxes to make room but when it's presented like this, I make an exception. And if I am an extreame case of keeping as little as possible, I guess most will keep the box too.

Sounds interesting.
Also, this toy exactky as is would cost more at retail, so I'm glad with how it worked out.

Yeah I toss most standard retail packaging. I did keep Titan and CC. Boxes, as well as all the UW sets, those are just amazing. I did also keep any CW that came as a set as well.

I kept the one retro titanmaster/headmaster box I got, was way too nice to throw out. I liked binlatech boxes mainly because they displayed the cars well and was a good way to re-store them to stop the paintwork getting scratched (I remember some alternators boxes being those awful open carded things like they try these days but I might be wrong).

I'd honestly throw the packaging for this star saber hahaha but I had to keep the packaging for WFC toy colors reflector.

Yeah, a retail version of this would actually be a downgrade to what we see here (love it or hate it)

As an aside, I'd vote for the beast wars packaging to be on any top 5 packaging list, the eye design is still striking to this day

G1 does have a place on the list for the art and the back of the box art (at least I would include it)

Some of the Titan class box art has been fabulous...stuff I'd buy in poster form if I wasn't still rocking my Dreamwave posters and didn't have room....

I think in the history of TF toy packaging, this HasLab Victory Saber is easily no. 1. In terms of the graphics, the layers of packaging, the integration of the different packaging layers, the thickness of the cardboard material used, it's unprecedented. Amazing effort, Haslab.

A distant second to this would be the packaging of the Takara Transformers Collection book-style reissues.

There's no third for me. In general, Japanese packaging for Voyager figures from Henkei to Legends had pretty descent packaging style and graphics.

In contrast, the second worst is the current Legacy line, with irregular shaped boxes that can't be easily stored, and either windowless or windowed-but-lacking-plastic-cover. What were they thinking????? :BANG_HEAD:

Worst TF packaging ever - Haslab Unicron. Just gross. They could've at least put some colour on the box for the fans who spent so much money on this thing.

I'd agree on the transformers collection packaging being great but having the pages binder style/meant to be torn of the packaging to compile the volume might make me lower them on a list (unlike toynamis book style robotech). As for star sabers think other company's have and are doing better packaging and even transformers has had nicer.
Encore Ironhide and Ratchet boxes that gave the reissues faces was a nice touch too. I'm guessing star sabers would have done that for the shield if they hadn't reached numbers hahaha

If we're going to talk about top tier Transformers packaging is it weird to suggest a book? It comes in not one, but two boxes AND it's own wall mountable and sort of transforming case. It's a ridiculous presentation for a book. I really need to get mine mounted on the wall soon.

It's at least worth an honorable mention.

So, for every successful HasLab, people got emails to confirm their shipping address on the first of the month before they were shipped that ran till the end of the month, right? Cause I haven't gotten anything for VS, and if they want him in hand before Deathsaurus' campaign finishes, we should have gotten the email yesterday, right?

VS was my first Haslab, so I'm unsure, I just made sure my order is still present on Pulse. Ok so far.

It wasn't strictly the first of the month, my Sentinel email confirmation for address came maybe 2 weeks before mine shipped.

Ah, okay, so Hasbro's not 100% great on the emails, got it. Given the amount of people I saw on TFW insisting that the only real way thay we'd get VS in December was if we got an email on the first of November, I was getting worried that he'd be delayed (probably still will), but if the shipping email's never consistent then oh well. He gets here when he gets here

Things went pretty smooth with Galactus. I dunno. It does take about a month from when they say it's coming you getting it.

People can be as insisting as they want, doesn't make them factually correct.
