Bruticus looks amazing! Love! Never saw Swindle or Brawl jobs coming, but very glad they did happen!
Sky Lynx is instant buy! So is Hound and Sunstreaker. Maybe ironhide, mirage and trailbreaker.
Devy looks good. will get Hasbro since they will be combined and Y'all will be buying takara
RiD stuff looks good. nothing i'll buy, but still cool.
looking forward to combiner wars next year. Bruticus, Sky Reign, Victorion, and maybe computron. looks good. I'm excited.

That's all folks. D-Mack: Out :BOT:

Yeah. Not gonna lie, the only molds I saw coming were vortex, onslaught and shockwave, but that blastoff surprised me. I like it, but it surprised me. I'm looking forward to Bruticus. And Sky Lynx. and victorion.

I am into transformers toys in general but I never look deeper into their fiction, aside from what I know of the show. So I am wondering, by having that White redeco of Prime actually be called Battle Core Optimus Prime, does this mean that this is the literal white prime who suits up into Magnus' armour? Or a relation to that?

Yeah, it would've been nice if Blast Off would've had a shuttle alt mode... Fair enough. It would've been cool.
But I don't think what's being used is bad. I understand using Slingshot's head scuplt.
They went to the trouble of making it, why not use it?

What I'm very surprised about is that more people are not complaining about the "new" Autobots.
I won't go any further than to say I'm beyond glad I have the past Universe/Generations figures already in my collection; because if I didn't, I'd be very letdown.

Anyway, there's enough goodness with this Bruticus that even if Hasbro doesn't give us a new mold for Blast Off, this is still a big, big win.

Agreed. I really do like this Bruticus. no complaints from me.
I like the new autobots too. From both Sky Reign and optimus Maximus, I'm going to get 2 of the limbs (Streaker, Mirage, Hound and Trailbreaker). those 4 actually look really good. I love the looks of all of them, expecially Hound and Streaker. Mirage looks great and TB is my fav transformer of all time, so I will get them. Plus, i'm getting Cyclonus and Sky Lynx, so between them I will have a full combiners worth of limbs that I can slam onto them at any time if I felt like it. Plus, I'm including Cyclonus as one of my good guys considering his mtmte role, so it works very nicely! :BOT:

Well, Vortex is just a repaint, but one I think we were all expecting and so I'm not bothered by it.

And Blast Off is also just a repaint, and frankly a (in my opinion) rather lazy one at that.

But the other three? Yes! I mean, I figured Onslaught would be a bit remolded to give him different heads and replace the ladder with the artillery cannons. But Hasbro went above and beyond here. And Swindle is hardly recognizable as Rook. And an all new mold for Brawl? Awesome looking Brawl!

So yeah, disappointed in Blast Off. But overall, a great looking team and gestalt!

Yeah, that was noticed pretty quickly. Don't let that dampen your enthusiasm, though! It was a great design choice!

Um guys, 95% sure Brawl is a retool of Rook too. Look at the arms and legs.

Loved it at first sight, although I think we saw the Sky and Lynx parts separate in at least one episode of the cartoon. Hate the torso and combined mode.

I might have check Brawl out again. Combiner Wars has been a lot of pretty awesome retools I have been quite impressed.

I don't really mind if Blast Off is a jet or a shuttle either way shuttles put military satellites in space a jets do military stuff

I'm all for awesome retools, but now the dust has settled a bit and we've absorbed the weekend's excitement.

I'm a little worried that Has/Tak & Funpub are edging into 'Taking the cake' territory here.

Lets look at that alpha bravo mold here.

Alpha Bravo
Hasbro Blades
Takara Blades
FunPub Spinister
Hasbro Vortex
(Takara Vortex presumably TBA)
2X Victorion Arm Helicopter sister/twins

So that's 8 uses of the one mold. All with minimal retooling and from the looks of things the Dead End mold will be going the same way.

ANYWAY,

I AM EXCITED

That Skylynx mold is blatantly Hun-Gurr waiting to happen. Seriously the torso mode really really visibly resembles Abominus's torso. I'm just waiting on some happy-go-lucky digibasher to make a photoshop of it.

I'm not seeing Brawl as a retool of Rook, at all. The transformation is way too different between the two, look at the arms, legs and chest:

Swindle on the other hand:

As for Blast Off, I'll consider him an "extra member" among the likes of Alpha Bravo and Offroad.

Putting the drill right in front would be problematic, as that's where the combiner peg is located and it forms the chest. Don't hug him :P

Agreed, it's a shame there is so little retooling with the AB mold: if either Blades or Vortex had different arms/rockets that would go a long way to keeping it fresh (and would also help differentiate the two Victorion choppers).

I'm also a little disappointed that they reused the Streetwise/Prowl mold for Smokescreen. It even has the police lights on the roof! I know historically he shares a mold with Prowl/Bluestreak, but they should have just used the Dead End version as that hasn't been used for an Autobot yet.

Hence my use of the phrase "at least trying". The combiner peg does make things difficult. Perhaps they could try resculpting the tank's rear to turn it into Nosecone's front and put the drill there. :-?

In theory, we could have a full, regular computron:
1) Brawl could be reused as Nosecone.
2) Afterburner could be a deluxe sized Groove retool or a legends class retool. (who knows)
3) Lightspeed could be a retool of Breakdown or Dead end
4) Strafe could be a redone aerialbot
5) Scattershot could be a redone Silverbolt.
6) A new recruit if Afterburner was a legends retool

Now, please take not that these are all extreme "maybes". I'm just throwing out some ideas. It is wholly possible that these could be original molds or even retools of molds we didn't think of (looking at you Swindle and Hound). We'll just have to see though. Patience is a virtue :BOT:

Let's put the limit of shells per mold to 2, and heads to 3 per shell, and see what we can make:

1) Possible, with a creative workaround for the drill(s) (in case they're planning CW FoC Wreckers). It's also possible he'll be nixed given the trend of choosing members for replacement according to the Kre-O sets:

Blast Off: Kre-O Blindpack and redeco instead of own mold, still counts
Groove: Kre-O Blindpack and replaced by Rook
Quickslinger: Kre-O Blindpack and replaced by Vortex Alpha Bravo
Brake-Neck: Kre-O Blindpack and replaced by Offroad

Nosecone was also blindpacked, so... Expect the worst and hope for the best?

2) Has to be a new mold, as Deluxe UW Groove seems to be TakaraTomy-only and thus likely won't have any other characters built in. On that thought, Hasbro could make a (futuristic) Groove out of their own Afterburner. Irony at its finest.

3) Looking at Wheeljack, I bet he will be retooled into Lightspeed/Lightstorm (pending trademark issues from Kre-O) and he's the closest in general shape:

Image

Image

4) New mold, or (finally) a Firefly reshell.

5) New mold, given the 2 shell limit of Silverbolt with Cyclonus

Maybe the drill could attached to the turret? And then either be part of the backpack or a detachable weapon?

The fact that we already have 3 of our potential 4 combiners for 2016 laid out kind of saddens me, because there's a lot that I want and only one slot to fill. I kind of wish the second round of Autobot Cars weren't a thing, and Sky Lynx was just an extra torso to use with whoever, like Cyclonus. Then we could get another full team.

Teams we haven't yet seen updated:
Technobots
Seacons
Terrorcons (ignoring the Beast Hunters version)
Predacons
Pretender Monsters

And some Japanese exclusive combiners as well.

I wouldnt count takara in the equation because what they decide to do with the mold is their business and by bringing them in, we are dilluting the abuse a specific company is doing and instead reporting it as widespread which might not be the case. Also, there isnt any corporation who owns both Takara and Hasbro so the business decision and blame should always be made seperate.

So, with that said, we can look at Hasbro alone and see that there is already some abuse here. I mean the same freaken mold with very little difference used over and over takes away some of the fun. Without even having a TFSS subscription, you will actually be able to make a combiner made up on only alpha bravo mold limbs and still have an extra one lying around, which is pretty nuts.

Now, onto Hun-Gurr. While it makes perfect sense in a way, I dont really know how they will execute it. The legs are where all the combiner ports are found on this Sky Lynx (right?) but Hun Gurr has these 2 large heads which become the robot legs and the combiner ports. So you wouldnt be changing the skylynx head into 2 heads but his front legs instead and I dont see how that would work.

JelZe GoldRabbit wrote:Let's put the limit of shells per mold to 2, and heads to 3 per shell, and see what we can make

Sorry for being a mega pessimist Jelze but I dont think there are rules anymore. If Hasbro wants to reuse the same mold 5 times, they can do it (and they are doing it).
