If it's anything like this, feathered Dinobot = hideous.

First of all, that looks great. A little lanky in bot mode but that's because of how he's rigged, the artist admits as much in the description.

Now, I want my cartoon-accurate Dinobot, but this is also cool.

Sabrblade wrote:If they wanna do feathered dino Transformers, either make all new characters or give us the Raptoricons.

However I'm also here for these.

As far as Kingdom goes, I'm really impressed by that Blackarachnia so far. I didn't think it was possible to make her cartoon accurate but I guess she's a shellformer. Cheetor looks alright. Rattrap is nice, never was a big fan of him to begin with. I want to see that Megatron. The first figure I ever bought was Ultra Class T-Rex Megatron, I'm pleased to see what they do with him for the 25th anniversary.

No thank you. Jurassic Park dinosaurs look cool.

Honestly? I don't think Jurassic Park dinos look as cool as feathered dinos. At this point, in my mind, seeing feathers on dinos that had them actually help them feel like the real living creatures that actually existed, while the typical featherless scaly things in pop culture are these imaginary fake creatures. Feathers + realistic addition of fat, flesh, and muscle on the face, body, and limbs/tail bring dinos from being these fake monsters to actual interesting ancient life.

Unrelated, all the bipedal dinosaurs in Jurassic Park have broken wrists. Most dinosaurs' wrists faced inward, and could not rotate to face downward the way they do in Jurassic Park.

And will you be as accepting in another 30 years when paleontology "discovers" more which makes what they believe now seem dated?

Just saying these are toys, no need to chase something that isn't really there.

what further discovery would retroactively erase the many, many, many clear feather and proto-feather imprints we've seen (and continue to see more of) in fossils

and don't show me that Ben G. Thomas "maybe T. Rex didn't have feathers" video, because T. Rex never had anywhere close to the most concrete evidence of feathers in adulthood, compared to the many many many other species that have had incredibly solid evidence for it

I don't care about dinosaur realism. Giant lizards are cooler than giant turkeys.

Come here to talk about new BW toy. Found a debate regarding semantics of feather on dinosaur transformers toy instead.

On topic, i am definitely interested in blackarachnia. Among all fembots so far, she seems to be having the most compact bavkpack. Looking at the alt mode and robot mode, if the transformation is going the way i imagine it, she will have a hinge joint conveniently placed to be used as ab-crunch, which is a plus for me. Also, boobs as spider mouth is...interesting.

That has what exactly to do with what I'm saying? Yes, real lizards are scaly, but dinosaurs as a group are not super closely related to the groups represented by modern reptiles like squamates, or even sphenodontia; even the more closely related crocodilians are still more distantly related than the actual modern descendents of dinosaurs, birds. I'm saying the dinosaurs we see in pop culture that are scaly (outside of actual scaly exceptions like Carnotaurus), often not very realistically muscled/fattened/fleshed out, have no lips, etc. are outdated depictions, and any continued use of them is an exercise in fantasy and willing rejection of science.

If you want to discuss whether a particular type of dinosaur had feathers or not, go and start your own thread about it and stop derailing this one!

Speaking of Shadow Panther, who else would like him to keep his Mutant Head to distinguish him more from Cheetor?

He will be pink, Shadow Panthers were hairless in prehistoric times... :P

Now im thinking hasbro will do a pink panther crossover figure -just hoping they complete BW S1 cast in Kingdom as it's anybodys guess what comes after Kingdom (well until it's leaked after or even before the Kingdom leaks finish.

With the fact Takara gave MP Shadow Panther the mutant head accessory, I could definitely see them having the mutant head as the alternate head tooling for the Cheetor mold, and giving it to Shadow Panther. I think I would prefer just a redecoed Cheetor head though, personally.

I kinda wanted mutant/alt heads for all the beastwars characters that pop up in Kingdom, even those that didnt have them like ratrap. I didnt even notice the original blakc widows second head until a few weeks after having it -and she was bought many years after having Tarantulus.

honestly, rattraps' exposed brain and rat teeth make him seem "mutant" enough

I posted this in general discussion, but just thought I would drop it here too. Hasbro just put up the splash page for their pulse-con on September 25-26. betting that's when we will finally see the beasts officially unleashed.

Most likely I believe:-? The question is, how much will we see? And will the leakers get them first?

I think they'll probably just show wave one. I'm predicting Rattrap, a second core (Optimus Prime?) Cheetor, Blackarachnia, Warpath, one other deluxe (likely a fossilizer), Primal, one other voyager (likely either G1 Inferno or Cyclonus), BW Megatron and one other leader (Galvatron or Ultra Magnus, but if I had to guess I'd say Magnus).

So, allegedly, the Titan for this line is gonna be the Ark with a Last Autobot/Vector Prime-styled robot mode.

Again, grain of salt and all that jazz.

But, if we really are getting the Last Autobot with an Ark altmode, then the Ark better well come in Marvel BLUE!!

Image

The Last Autobot's main color isn't gold, it's BLUE!!

Damn. I was hoping more for Animated Omega Supreme vibes from an Ark-former

If the titan is the Ark and it isn't somewhat a "G1-ified" Animated Omega Supreme, then I'm fine not getting it. If it looks good and has some fun gimmicks, then maybe, but I'd rather have Animated Omega than the Last Autobot (who looks more like he should be a Jetfire retool).

Though, it kind of makes sense why they'd merge him and the Ark. They could call it the Ark and not have to explain why the figure is called the Last Autobot to people who don't care about old Marvel comics

Back when we were all speculating what the Titan would be and our only real hits were that he was lanky and not a BW character I meant it when I said I wold love for it to be the Last Autobot! That's definitely something I would be excited about. I've wanted a Last Autobot figure since he first appeared in the comics and that's never changed. I would have to head canon it as a different Ark from the original, but if the Ark is going to turn into anyone in G1 it should be him.
