I figured it was a long shot but I was hoping to like this figure more as well.

The red cockpit canopy on the chest and the silver horns above the yellow face are giving me King Atlas vibes, which I truly hope doesn't mean that Hasbro intends for this figure to also sort of double as King Atlas in addition to Dreadwing (in lieu of giving the king his own toy with his own proper deco) in the same way that the Skyquake toy doubles as both the G1 and Prime versions of him.

Not the shade of blue I was imagining, but he still looks decent. I do like the Skyquake mould and have been looking forward to Dreadwing. I'll definitely buy one when he's out.

Also, I got a shipping notice for my Armada Megatron pre-order, I'll have him by the end of this week, and I'm really excited to get my hands on him!

It kinda reminds me of the Japanese toy's brighter blue.

This mold has a similar issue that I have with other molds;
Between the length and the bulk of the torso, the legs are too short.
And I understand the bot mode has the jive with the alt mode and transformation.
But even if these proportions are accurate to the character model, it doesn’t work well for me.

I think a lot more people would have enjoyed Dreadwing if they just retooled the head to be accurate to the Prime animated series. I give Skyquake a pass since he was in just a couple episodes, and the blending with the very late OG figure was an interesting meld.

Dreadwing should be all Prime however ( or at least the head sculpt). Sabre mentioned King Atlas. I guess you'd have to throw in MW Starscream as well. I hope they don't get released from this mold, but I guess we will see.

I may be the only one to like this, but I do like this.

Wasn't sold on Skyquake's green, but love the blue (even if it is a bit too Thunderacker-ey) and red even if it's not cartoon accurate.

I don't get it. This figure seems to be a downgrade from the original.
There is some engineering that is slightly fancier, but which seems to come at the expense that nothing locks into place.

Hell yeah, Dreadwing got his cannon! He's gonna look great with Skyquake.

The tank mode is solid, which is surprising for an H-Tank.

Yup, and an original mold among several retools to boot.

No, the face is supposed to be yellow. It's the horns being silver along with the yellow face that makes it look like the face of King Atlas.

EDIT: I just noticed the little red square in the middle of the jet mode, which King Atlas also has too.

It's possible they're using some color apps here so they can recycle them later.

Poor Bombshell's alt mode suffers because of those half-@rsed rear "leg" attachments. They're almost completely buried under the rear abdomen section, and they have no leg like protrusions.

Image

As much remolding as they did for the upper body, they should have somehow molded extra 5mm ports into the panels on the lower/back sides for the weapons to plug into, then in the weapons, molded plastic insect legs that jut out in a more bug-like fashion so he has six proper insect legs.

And if the objection is 'but then the weapon accessories would look bulky and ugly'? Well, since when has that ever stopped Hasbro before? Especially with the Legacy line and their energon 'combiner' weapons - big, ugly, obtrusive accessories were what they were supposedly proud to make. This would just be carrying on with what they'd already been happily doing just a short while back.

It would be preferable to what it seems to be now, which is a completely legless backside so he looks more like a grub than a beetle.

Legacy Evolution Dreadwing Found Listed on eBay

An auction on eBay is giving us our first look at Legacy Evolution Leader Dreadwing. The Skyquake repaint doesn't have any new parts on the figure itself, but does replace the gatling gun with a proper canon just like the original toys. The colors are not cartoon accurate and there's a lot of debate within our Energon Pub Fourms about just where Hasbro got the colors from, but that's going to take an official reveal to get the truth about. Thanks again to Sowndwave76 for letting us know!

That shade of blue looks brighter than the one in the show but it might just be the camera. Mine used to make purples look bluer. The original Transformers Prime Dreadwing figure also seems to have a different shade of blue than the one he sports in the actual show, much drabber.

Of course, Dreadwing would be next.

I'll still wait for the Machine Wars Starscream version, most likely with a new head.

Not buying that mold until it's made into G1 Skyquake and/or MW Starscream. [-(

Nobody: what I meant was the majority of the Beast Hunters Autobots and Decepticons were retools of their Robots in Disguise figures, while he and a few others were original molds.
