I just now noticed MP Acid Storm is a different mold.

I was checking another thread on the hate for MP-03 Starscream and someone mentioned the hip pods. Made me do a double take at work as I recalled they aren't on Acid Storm. When was this change even made? I'd like to check out both of them in person but Starscream is in storage. Are there any other changes throughout the releases of the jets that I've not noticed? I feel like there were more locking tabs for pieces on Acid Storm making him seem less floppy but that could just be all in my head.

Sounds like you're talking about the switch from the first MP Seeker mold (used for Starscream, Skywarp and Thundercracker) to the second (used for King Starscream, Sunstorm, Acid Rain, and Hasbro Thundercracker)

Bingo. I haven't picked up a MP seeker since Skywarp so I completely forgot about the hip pods. Were there any other changes between the two molds?

I don't own the latter mold but this is a pretty good description:

Wow, now I understand why I thought Acid Storm seemed so much more solidly built than the older ones I own. I had it in my head when I bought him that I was just fooling myself into thinking parts were fitting together better To find they actually are makes me feel better about my memory of the past.

I think you WISH you could find a decent priced MP-11. For the record, what is "decent priced" for you? 60$ like a 'Murica release? Or something more normal priced but not scalpy like around 200$ shipped?

Me, I just bought my MP-11 from a Ebay seller for 202CAN shipped. The collector coin is also included! That's the cheapest I could manage. Sure, it's expensive, but when you REALLY want something, money should not be an issue.
