"EVEN adults are buying them."

Man, how come people give collectors so much crap?

Of course they're not outgrown! I've loved them since I was 5 & I'll probably still love them in another 50 years! I don't care what anybody says! Take that!!

Transformers isn't a hobby, it's a way of life :)

I'm 31, full grown, I'm a professional and independant person. I have a very active social life(which is bekoning me), and am involved in many civic activities. I am riddled with all the same obsticals and responsibilities of people my age.

I just had to make that point before I say Transformers are something I will take to the grave!

I'm an adult and I buy tons of cartoon ****. I don't see how people could think that just because you're an adult, you shouldn't do things like that. Whoever came to that analogy is a douchebag.

People with insecurities attack other people at every opportunity. That is why I have the urge to sneak when I'm in the toy section, hide below the shelves in the manga section, and not head-bang to music in various public places. Why are we so inoculated with the desire to please perfect strangers with our actions? Let them repress themselves, and leave us out of it!

I go into stores and buy Sailor Moon **** without hiding or being red in the face. I couldn't care less what people think of me. I don't buy it to please them, I but it to make myself happy. Anyone who has anything to say is just upset that they don't have the balls to buy "kids" stuff and not be embarassed by it.

I am glad to know I am not the only one on this world who refuses to outgrow them.

AMEN TO THAT! :dc I couldn't agree more with you! I am sick to death by society's "standards" regarding how grown people should behave! :-x

IMHO, it's not a matter of what hobbies you must out grown but what behaviour! But I am abnormal (accoridng to a girl that taunted me in elemental school asking me "are u abnormal or are you maiking it up?" >_< ) so I could be wrong... as IF I care about that!

I agree with you all the way.

But stop "hiding under a rock", because you don't have to.

Life is not about pleasing people you don't know or don't respect.

Live for yourself, and persue your interests to the fullest; be they Transformers, classic cars or motorcycles, English literature, or collecting pogs (*shudder*). It is your life, so live it accordingly.

There's nothing wrong with being a Transfan no matter what your age! That's the kind of fandom this is!

Of course, I'm 13, so I have a better excuse to like Transformers than most of you guys. :P

I am 33 now, I have been in medicine for 8 years (Neurology) and I don't think that there is anything abnormal with liking Transformers. This was my childhood. These were the cartoons and the toys that I grew up with. I am not going to suddenly stop collecting something that I love. Have they forgotten that these adults that are collecting got in at the beginning? Transformers, and the ideas behind them, have always been very important to me. Anyway, worrying about what some idiot thinks about me for continuing to cherish my childhood memories and love of these characters is a huge waste of my time.

I'm 27. I still collect toys. It's a hobby. I also play guitar and work on/customize my motorcycle. They're all hobbys, what's so difficult to understand.

I'm sure it would be strange to the person who did this article to see my very pregnant wife and myself go into TRU, buying TFs for ourselves. I know the cashiers are suprised when we turn down gift receipts and tell them they are for us.

Adults buying toys? Where? I would never buy a toy. LOL. They give collectors crap cause they need something to make them feel better about themselves.

....beats wasting money on booze & smokes....at least with toy collecting you can actually see where your money is going to....

....you know, nobody ever seems to care about the guys that collect Hot Wheels......but you throw in an action figure line....oh noes...you just stepped across into geekdom......
