MP-11 issues.

I just bought MP-11 Corronation Starscream for around 240$CAN, all fees included. For that ammount of cash spendt, I expected more quality than this. I transformed him back and forth and I noticed two major problems.

First of, when you try to move an arm, the whole shoulder and "breast" lift up, à la Generations Blitzwing.

Second, the back of the chest (if I can call it that) expand to transform into jet mode. For the MP-03, it locked into place solidly in either position. With MP-11, it's a bit floppy and dont "peg" anywhere, making manipulating the robot as if I manipulate a slinky.

Anyone else have these issues? Did I transformed something wrongly? Do I have a KO? Or am I just unlucky?

Regardless, these issues dont affect the jet mode nor how glorious looking Starscream is on display. It's just that for a 200$+ figure, I expected more quality than a "standard" TF.

Although I don't have mp11 starscream, I do have Thundercracker and acid storm and they're back can peg in. Although the chest/arm thing is still a problem. The reason you paid over $100us/can is because you're buying starscream.

I'll be honest, I don't like mp-11. He looks good on a shelf, but he is not fun to transform. A lot of the thin plastic parts scare me on him too.

Sucks to hear. I know how much you were looking forward to this figure. I wonder if Sunstorm has the same problems. I hope not, I'm actually giving serious thought to acquiring him. The Takara version, not the upcoming TRU exclusive. The red knee pads look like ****. I liked his DW G1 iteration.

Something isn't right in the transformation. He should lock up pretty well.

The worst thing is it will never be worth it to return it for a replacement. I'll have to pay over 50$ of shipping and I may be slapped with ANOTHER 36$ of unrefundable custom fees.

Sigh.

Like Counterpunch said, maybe you missed something during transformation?

I did exactly as I should while transforming Screamers. Strangely, in Paugh and Mitch's reviews, they never mentionned the issues. Still, I saw that the "breast" will lift up if you dont hold it down while moving the arm. Also, like mine, the torso that slid down from jet to bot dont seem to peg anywhere. it just REST there. Maybe mine is just a wee bit looser to rustle my jimmies.

Any MP-11 Starscream owners who want to share?

As I thought, the "loose chest" issue is a desing flaw. It don't peg down at all nor it is as tight as with MP-03. Proof, look at Emgo's review when he does a bit of bot manipulation. He's not mentioning it, but we clearly see on camera the "loose chest" happenning right about here:

Conclusion: I'm releived that my MP-011 is not a KO (I dunno if a MP-11 KO even exist) but I'm a bit disapointed that the chest for my 200$ MP-11 is not as tight and stable as my previous 100$ MP-03 and current MP-03G.

These so called "reviewers" are not totally honest with their reviews then. Good thing to like/love a particular figure but at least point out the design flaws.

The back should peg in; the chest-lifting issue is a design thing.

As someone who has owned both the original and Asia Reissue versions of MP-11, I will say that the Asia Reissue version has less inertia in the chest area, i.e. it more easily lifts. But that's not something that ever really bothered me.

I got my MP-11 reissue back in March. So far no problems for me. He pegs in pretty nicely.
