Interesting look.

What's a "mashers" toy?

Mashers seem to be toys where you can swap limbs etc with other Mashers toys as I found here though who would want a t-rex with Iron Mans arms?

First look at Hero Mashers - Age of Extinction Grimlock, Drift/Bludgeon?

Seibertron.com user gavinfuzzy, in their online research, has come across an interesting listing from Brazilian site HobbyBrinquedos. The item appears to be a Hero Masher (figures with removable parts, that kids can mix and match to create different combinations) figure, with electronic features, of the upcoming Age of Extinction Grimlock! As much as the toy does not look like some of the artwork we've seen so far, and the product is not named, the colour scheme matches - but is that enough? Could it be one of the other Dinobots? Check out the image below, and let us know what you think in the Energon Pub.

UPDATE: There seems to be a whole range of Mashers planned, with additional figures fitting different aesthetics, from movieverse to IDW comics to G1 to Prime. Check out all the images below!

Figure with electronic lights and featuring battle accessory, missile launcher and ports compatible with products from all Mashers line, allowing you to build and customize your action figures! Box dimensions: 04. C 31 x W 07 x H 23 cm.

Interesting. It's not exactly a new idea, but I bet kids love them.

yeah.. kids love them sooo much that they don't even want to take them out of the store.. it seems as though they prefer the way they look on the pegs. lol

at least that's the way it is at the stores in my area.

There is a whole Transformers Mashers range planned.

Most figures are G1 themed... with a Prime bulkhead...

Is that drift? Or just a confused Bludgeon?

Looks rather Meh. I don't see this being any kind of a success. Its action masters again.

No, not a new idea. I've seen blocky Marvel figures with the same idea. I'm sure DC Comics is working on something as well or already has something similar already out there.

Nothing but Construct-Bots toys cluttering the shelves and pegs in most of the stores I've been to in my area. These particular construction toys are facing an early grave similar to the Kreon toy sets. Neither the Kreon nor the Construct-Bots toys actually transformed and that was their downfall. To go from robot to vehicle you have to disassemble then reassemble. Much of the Kreon toys sets have been clearanced out and I foresee that happening to the Construct-Bots this summer/fall, if not sooner. As it stands now though, shelves and pegs are so full of the Construct-bots to the point that there's no where to put the new Deluxe and Voyager 2014 toys. Thank goodness for www.hasbrotoyshop.com, otherwise I'd never get any of the new stuff.

It is just me or we are getting more Non-Transformable transformers toys than original transformers?
(And by original I mean transformers that aren't buttom-transformed or "simplified" versions)

Keep in mind that all the reveals we've had so far are for licensed products, rather than the main lines.

The only actual Hasbro releases we've seen for the new lines are these Mashers, the Rescue Bots line (who do transform), and the Battle Bots. The actual toys will be shown at the New York Toy Fair on 16-19th February! :D

If that is the AOE design for Grimlock, he's very G1-colored.

Cute idea. I'm sure at least some of the youngsters may get a kick out of these. Shoot, I may actually pick up Starscream and IDW Bumblebee for myself. They did a really good job on those two.
I couldn't tell if that was supposed to be AoE Hound or Bulkhead though. Doesn't matter, didn't float my boat either way and I'm not impressed with anything I'm seeing pertaining to AoE anyways so I'll be saving my money from that line to put towards Generations and the more interesting aspects of the novelty lines like this one.

HOLD UP - I think that star on "Bulkhead" is our first indicator that this is, in fact, their Hound design!

That would explain "Age of Extinction" on the movie title.

Someone has made the same statement about every line, every sub-line, and every series they've ever produced. It's getting old now. Enough with the Chicken Little "The sky is falling" crap. Time to retire that nonsense. >:oP

How about instead of getting dumber toys we get smarter kids ? I mean seriously, back in the 80s one line fit all ages and it worked fine. Now every year bumblebee and prime get 10 different figures and 8 of them suck. This is wasted plastic that could be used to give us more deluxe and voyager molds that will actually sell instead of warming the shelf like this crap.

How about not complaining about toys that weren't meant for you anyway? Do you go to the Barbie forums and complain about the Barbie dolls? These are kids toys; they're not meant for you. If you don't like them you don't have to buy them. It's not like plastic is a limited resource. If Hasbro didn't make these, they'd make something else FOR KIDS, not more Voyagers for collectors.

Interesting that G1 Prime seems to come with ROTF Jetfire as a backpack.

I totally agree with you, no kid of mine will ever have a dumb product like those. For those who complain about people complaining (lol). What kind of mental development stimulus does this toys offer? "Learn to be retarded"? No, this sucks, even for kids those toys sucks, and contrary on the popular belief, they DON'T sell well, there is a lot, if not all, of those rescue bots on stores (at least on my region).

Again, at least me and Rated X are complaining not about toys for us. What you want your kids to play with? Something that stimulate spatial and geometry notion, mathematical problem solving, artistic skills and so, or you want your kids to be playing with retarded toys that limit imagination and have no challenge at all? A nephew of mine (age 8 ) got ROTF leader class optimus prime (the "hardest" transformer you all b***h about) Did he cried like a little pussy because it was too hard? NO, he sat down for like 1-2 hours trying to transform and he was so happy when he concluded the transformation that I bet any of your kids will not have such feeling with retarded "simplified versions". The problem aren't the toys, are your kids that are dumb, deal with it.

No, you see, you're going about this wrong.
Now you can have an Iron Man with T-Rex arms, a Spider-Man leg and a Doc Doom leg.
Just think of the possibilities, We can make out own Guiltar from this, as in a mix of Optimus and Megatron parts!

Oh man, what if the T-Rex head comes with the same connector as all the humanoid heads? Just think of putting that on Spider-Man.

I also don't see a single Prime design here, or are you referring to what I assume is AOE Hound? Cos yea he does look very much like Prime Bulkhead, just the deco and the head look more like Hound.

the future shelf warmers have just been unveiled folks, will hasbro never learn? built to rule was a fail, kreo was a fail & construct bots are a fail, stop with the construction toys cause you obviously arent good at it and its not what the market wants.
