I'd like to see a compilation video of all the shark and shark-like characters who appeared on screen. I know it's limited, but you have Sky-byte, Sharkticons and Alicons, and...actually, I almost think that's it. But it's still on my list.

Don't forget about BWII Hellscream and Masterforce "Overbite".

Does Depth Charge's gun swimming in the water in Beast Wars count :P? It looks very shark-like, though I don't know about the fin placement and all that on real sharks so I can't really offer any valid biological info on whether or not it actually is a shark or not (but maybe someone around here who knows sharks can).

And of course Cybershark, Universe Overbite and TMII Cybershark (lot of repaints/retools out of that mold, eh :P?).

Heck, I'm still hoping Takara does a Cybershark repaint of Generations Sky-byte.

We were only counting the on-screen ones i.e. the ones who appeared in any cartoon. As you can see not many.

You covered all his repaints but not the original: Energon Sharkticn. And as a bonus, here's a small checklist for the Arms Micron Sharks:

Jigu (Dreadwing)
Gou
Giza (Nemesis Prime)
Ex

Also, what are your thoughts on figures with the deco of a shark? I can think of at least two: Generations Powerdive, and Animated Atomic Lugnut, on the cockpit.

Also Generations/RTS Lugnut. I'd say those count, then again they could also be "scary face" or "monster face" just as much as "shark face". But I still like that idea.

I'm going to stick to the traditional sharks and shark creatures. I'd rather see Beast Wars Depth Charge get featured since Manta Rays are part of the same family of animals as Sharks.

The Return of Transformers Shark Week: G1 Sharkticons!!!

The Return of Transformers SHARK WEEK begins right here!

Our first featured galleries this week are none other than the G1 Sharkticons! These fictional Cybertronian sharks have rows of razor-sharp teeth that can shred their prey to scrap metal much like how real Sharks can tear apart the flesh from their prey with their multiple rows of serrated teeth.

To celebrate the Sharkticons here on Seibertron.com this week, we have updated the galleries for G1 Sharkticon and Robot Heroes Sharkticon. Both galleries have been updated to have larger images than their original galleries. The "large" 800 pixel wide images have all been replaced with larger 1200 pixel wide images for your viewing pleasure.

Make sure you check back tomorrow to find out which gallery will be featured in "The Return of Transformers SHARK WEEK" on Seibertron.com!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

G1 Sharkticon's Tech Specs: Travels in packs with fellow Sharkticons. Fearless and vicious. Loyal only to the master who last fed him. Powerful tail fin allows him to travel at speeds over 150 knots. Carnivorous with a voracious appetite. Possesses several rows of razor-sharp teeth that can tear through solid steel. In robot mode, carries a maceration laser that shoots salt-based corrosive liquid. Also carries a barbed mace.

Shark Trivia from Wikipedia wrote:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shark#Teeth

Shark teeth are embedded in the gums rather than directly affixed to the jaw, and are constantly replaced throughout life. Multiple rows of replacement teeth grow in a groove on the inside of the jaw and steadily move forward in comparison to a conveyor belt; some sharks lose 30,000 or more teeth in their lifetime. The rate of tooth replacement varies from once every 8 to 10 days to several months. In most species, teeth are replaced one at a time as opposed to the simultaneous replacement of an entire row, which is observed in the cookiecutter shark.

Basically, any ray will do. So we could add:

- G1 Seawing
- BWII Terrormanda
- BW McDonalds Manta Ray
- BW Depthcharge
- Universe Depthcharge

And the ones we originally forgot:
- BWII Sea Phantom (G1 Overbite repaint)
- Timelines Overbite
- Reissue Overbite (because of a different plastic color)

I disagree on the shark thing. He looks more like a prehistoric creature I once saw in a book :-?

So are Submarauder and Finback no-gos? They could have easily been shark type creatures with a little fiction behind them.

Bingo: now I know what Finback reminded me of, so-called Osteostraci. Thing is, they're jaw-less bottom feeders, emphasis on "jawless".

It's still your call. If you do add them, don't forget Splashdown. ;)

Man what a bummer! I can't find some of the original DVD backups of the 2004 and early 2005 galleries which means I can't find the original images for the Seacons!!! I've been searching all over my house but can't find the spindle with the original images from that time period!
