Will Transformers Animated have action figures?

Well, I started off trying to collect Autobots from the 2007 line. This has failed miserably since I ended up getting Blackout, and I also got Galaxy Force Vector Prime yesterday. Now another nail in the coffin with my original plan: I'm interested in this new animated series. Will there be toys with this continuity?

If Hasbro werent going to make toys for this line, this show would not be getting made.

The reason all transformers tv shows have been made is to help sell the co-inciding figures.

Dont be surprised to have the core cast released early on, with waves full of previous lines toys filling in the gaps.

Fair deal.

I'm looking forward to checking out Bulkhead, Grimlock, and Blackarachnia. The more I look at Cybertron series the more I want to get the Decepticons from that series and this Animated series for some weird reason.

You are in the same spot I was in when I returned to the Transformers-dom, except I was looking for RID stuff when Armada was near the end of its run.

Cybertron Decepticons were fairly good too. I haven't checked Ebay for a while now, but a month ago there were plenty of Cybertron toys (mainly the larger ones) for about the same prices as they were in stores.

Otherwise, check out smaller toyshops like Toyworld, many that I have popped into during holidays and whatnot still have Energon Stock, prices are a few $ more, but not much you can do about it.

They do look a bit... strange. I guess its more and more kiddish these days.

Cybertron is officially awesome for me. I only have 1 toy from Cybertron and I am not planning to collect the whole line (not even the whole line of Autobots), but I respect it. The Decepticons also looked pretty cool. I wonder why Unicron ended up such a tiny tank thing.

That's what people said about BW, RID, GF too. Dont write it off yet. And even if the show is kinda cruddy, does not mean the toys will be.

The styling is CArtoon Network, moreso than kiddy, if you want kiddy styled designs, go watch some Bananas in pyjamas, perfect example of sets and costumes designed to appeal to children.

Unicron was a non-show character, like Armourhide, Hardtop and Shortround. His bio pretty much made set him up as having to rebuild from scratch after being all but destroyed in Energon. He is slowly rebuilding, and for now is only the size of a tank, but will continue to grow.

Were you at BotCon seeing the show preview and advanced pictures of the toys?

I was.

They look awesome.

The show is going to rock hard (similar to Batman Beyond). The toys look like a blend of Cybertron and Transtech.

That post puts me in a good mood.
Out of 10, how would you rate the Autobots' look?
And how similar, if at all, is Prime to previous incarnations? It's just that the promo poster gave me a very strong vibe of Cybertron Prime.

That's hard to do...

Prime really reminds me of Classics Prime and I'm horribly biased towards Armada through Cybertron era stuff...

The Autobots are probably an 8/10, because really, they don't change much from series to series. Car/robot, robot/car, you get the idea. Bulkhead is a standout. He's different from anything you've ever seen TF-wise. He reminds me of a Star Wars droid who has done years and years of steriods.

The Decepticons are a 10/10 easily. They are the best cons perhaps this side of Energon Galvatron.

I think I am going to look at the new animated series the same way I looked at the movie. I will wait for the final product to decide whether I like it or not. From what I have heard about the toys, from reading the Botcon posts, I think that us fans are going to have another great line of toys to collect. I mean just look at the movie toys, they were being bashed left and right, and now it seems as though they have been accepted.
