What to chose between these two versions of G1 Megatron reissues?

Even though G1 Megatron is derpy looking as hell, he still have a certain charm to him and my Megs collection is seriously lacking a G1 example of the mold. Sure, owning a complete vintage one would be perfect, but my wallet is agaisnt it. So, it come down to these two choices:

First, for around 100$ shipped, I have the Takara Transformers E-hobby Encore Reissue Exclusive Black Megatron.

Image

It have the silencer and "arm rest", plus, it got that nice chrome finish. However, even though it make for a better gun, the brown on the handle/legs bug me. Especially that black gun barrel. Still, he's really great looking and is the most complete.

For 80$ shipped, I have Movie & G1 CH-02 Megatron set

Image

G1 Megs don't have his silencer and "arm rest" here. Instead, we get a very premium voyager DOTM Megs. That "bonus" Megs is really fantastic. Problem is, I already have the regular version. Furthermore, G1 Megs is so... brown here. G1 Megs is supposed to be shiny all over. Here, Megs have a sepia filter applied all over. Still, the colors are balanced.

So, in both versions, both Megs dont have the real colors. Black Megs is more shiny, come with ALL the parts, but is also 20$ more expensive.

The DOTM 2 pack is cheaper AND come with a kick-ass DOTM Megs. However, G1 Megs is "incomplete" and a bit drab looking.

In my eyes, both kits balances each-others out. what would YOU chose?

K............can't you find the TFC# 6? That's the best version of the G1 figure. Second to MP-05. It's got the energon mace, functional bullet mechanism, mouse pad, sigil decals and the extension parts.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Transformers-Ta ... 3ce80f3a05

And yes, the non chrome version kind of looks brownish.

You left behind a very cryptic clue. My Firefox cant open the link, Explorer give no results, and "Transformers Encore #6" gave me everything but Megatron. Do you have a complete name with pictures?

TFC#6 by a vendor from Singapore. evildestron1988. Btw, Google Chrome works fine.

Try this:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Transformers-Ta ... 3ce80f3a05

I'm copy pasting the link...............still the same.

Search Megatron G1. Setting 50 items per page. Its Page 3, 5th from the bottom.

I'm at a loss here. I dont have Google Chrome so I avoid the "blocking in my country" by going with explorer. The link show the very expensive prototypes and nothing else. I looked at his other items, and no G1 Megs of any kinds.

Also, searching "G1 Megs". Filtered how? "Best Mach", "Price + Shipping Lowewst 1st", ect? What Ebay? .com, .ca, .fr, .jp....?

It would be simpler to just tell me what edition that Megatron is and most importantly, what is the price? Because I wont pay more than 100$ shipped to Canada.

Not Encore #6, TFC (Transformers Collection)#6 Megatron, I got one for a hundred bucks a few years back and it's honestly the best version of the toy out there. Comes with every accessory that G1 Megatron's ever come with, an energon mace, and a few nice extras.

Edit:
Unfortunately, a quick look on ebay found only two of them, and they're both a lot more than I'd recommend paying for them. Honestly though, if you're looking for a G1 Megatron, the TFC #6 is the best version out there, and I'd recommend holding off until you found one at a good price, just to make sure you get the best one you can.

Ah, there we go! ...and there I'm gone. 150$ + shipping (for a open one)is WAY more than I'm willing to spend. I don't really need the "Best Ever". So, my guess would be that Black Megatron is my best cheaper alternative? The cheapest would be the DOTM 2 pack, especially for that Premium DOTM voyager Megs... However, Brown Megs without the silencer and stock is kinda unnacceptable.

So, My guess is E-Hobby Black Megatron. Do a store other than Chimsung and Robotkingdom have it for less than 80$ + shipping? A store willing to take my Canadian Paypal and that is willing to ship to Canada too, of course.

Maybe yours refuse to ship to Canada anyway. The cheapest I could find is 150$ for a open one. Plus shipping and customs. The rest is 200$+. So, nope.

As I said above, E-Hobby Black Megs may be the best and cheapest alternative. Anyone selling for less than 80$ plus ship?

Have you tried the D-16s reissue? It has the original G1 colors. The 'black' reissue has a different colorscheme.

You misunderstand. You mentioned that you use Explorer and Firefox Are there issues with Google Chrome?

Anyway, good luck with that Quantum Megatron armor version watchamacalit. Iirc, the fiction behind him has Megatron carrying some traces of BW Megatron "monkeying" pardon the pun, with the time stream when he tried to kill the stasis locked Optimus Prime and he stole G1 Megatron's spark.

Thanks guys. As much as I like that DOTM Premium Megatron, the true purpose here is to have a complete and great looking G1 Megatron. After seeing a couple of review, (even some in Spanish because HD picture and I understand some bits here and there because of my French). I'll go with the E-Hobby Black Megs.

Thanks guys!

Woah! If it's Black Megs you are talking about, that's one weird backstory just for a simple repaint! I wonder if ALL the repaints have such stories behind them? I'd want to know what's up with Green Optimus Prime, red Bumblebee/Yellow Cliffjumper and some other similar weird repaints.

Those are both very nice, as is TFC#6. However, I think with an iconic character/toy like him, it's worth the extra cash for an original G1, as long as it's not insane like $300. I'd pay about $180-200 for 1. Same with G1 Prime. Those are probably the only 2 toys I would do this for. But I think Megatron deserves that much respect.

I'd look into getting the Movie Chronicle version & see what the cost of getting the armrest and silencer from somewhere like transformerland.com would be & compare.

As nice as it is, the colours used on that Black version of Megatron with the black, brown and chrome irks me, especially his brown hands.

10000% agree. every serious collector needs a proper megatron and prime.

personally, i have new years convoy (blue eyes, blue windows, diecast matrix) and bought a KO energy axe ala TFC #0. perfect G1 prime. megatron is wayy easier, simply buy TFC #6.

obtaining TFC #6 for a decent price is not impossible (even for a fellow canadian). even though i own one, i was searching for a second one a little while ago simply for a second mace (it fits in classics megatrons hand BTW) and ultimately decided i didnt need it right now. but i did find a few (opened but mint/complete) for about 100-150 shipped. for the character, and for a reissue of that quality, it is worth the time and money.

theres no such thing as a TF emergency :P
be patient, stalk ebay, and snag a TFC #6. you will NOT regret it.

Aside from the back story I mentioned, the "black" Megatron supposedly hearkens to the days when the mold was released as a simple non "UNCLE" Walther P-38.

Ultimately, I think this is what I will do. Beside, I'm broke as fawk because of my moving so I'll wait... and hunt... Until I find the real deal at a reasonable price.

That shajaki and try to score the iPod "Optimus Prime" speaker set. It has MP-01 (sort off) head with blue optics and blue chest/wind shields and also got the KO energon axe at ebay. Brick fight once you get that and TFC 6 together.
