in all honestly im not sure how i feel about it -he is bascily motormaster repaint but that doesn't really impress me but -what does is that he can be a core of a combiner team -im actually more interested in the number of combiners we get out of this we know the stuntacons and the aerial bots are going to get theirs but there are several teams -and since this is a big thing for idw as well we have to look there too

of the possible combiner teams we have seen most of them
the technobots have been seen the terrorcons the combaticons protectobots and the seacons and predacons -so they have already introduced members of 6 teams-into the story not too hard to see them getting a toy. But what makes me hope is that we will see something in the idw story thats not anywhere else the unusual new configuration of devestator -the 7th combiner in idw -because he is different now -as he is modualr and either megatron or prowl can take up scrappers possition with him being-dead

can we HOPE to see that i don't know but it would be nice -one of my collections are my combiners -ive got the build team the rid combaticons the fall of cybertron combaticons, the g1 predaking supirion and piranacon so i really like combiners -and if their going this route the other thing they need to add to this series of toys is the one thing bigger than the combiners the city transformers we need to see trypticon

I wont be picking him up. I dont like his look in either robot mode or truck mode. He works much better as motormaster. I dont feel the need to get another version of the mold in the form of Optimus and he wouldnt even scale well with the Leader Megatron figure.

I'm looking forward to seeing more pictures of it.

I'm perfectly happy with the Classics Optimus Prime. I have no interest in this guy. Hi looks far too gorilla-ish for my tastes.

The robot mode is mediocre at best, and the vehicle mode is just disappointing. Definite PASS.

Truthfully, I will end up getting him as the MMaster repaint and leave this mold alone for OPrime.
The Classics voyager, now being released in the TRU 2 pack, will end up being my Prime choice at that scale; I missed out on the original release and never got back round to it.

Upscaling the
legion optimus and roller would have been better.

Don't get me wrong, he does not look bad but I still agree with my statement above.BTW, what does the new motormaster look like?

I'm going to hold out for a leader generations Optimus to go along with Megatron.

I feel he looks better as Motormaster

plus if you want a better mold the classic prime is in that two pack at toys r us i saw one on the weekend after anime weekend atlanta -wow that was extremely fun

well im just unsure at this point if it is worth it -i just don't see the value in another optimus even if he does combine with others to form a gestalt -i mean if its in the comic maybe but im just not thrilled with it -primes combinations have so far been other bots adding on to him making him stronger as support or fusing with magnus and forming together as two brothers working together i dont see how making it 4 or more random bots and prime makes as much sense -story or character wise -toy wise i get it but we will see i guess

im really hoping that next year we get several of these combiners

I have 6 Optimus' now. It's an easy pass for me.

plus whats it really do for us -i mean its cab over engine which is nice but even the movie crap gave us that -im just tired of always getting another optimus -or bumble bee lets get some more of the others like a cybertron ratchet and iron hide at least haven't had they cybertron modes -or how about some more sub teams like the throttle bots -i won't even complain if their legends -also you could make them into a combiner i don't care as long as we don't get more of the same

As a retool of Motormaster (or vice-versa) he has to be. He can combine with any 4 limbs into "Ultra Prime". Was kind of hoping for "Optimus Maximus" myself...

Might want to get Prime and the Stunticons (including motormaster)

im just not thrilled with this kind of repaint like the thundercracker out of jet fire mold -it doesn't fit thundercracker i have several of him the classic the foc and the cybertron one and this isn't him he isn't that big or powerful hes a grunt. same with prime he shouldn't be a combiner -i know energon he was but that series was terrible -it just doesn't work for me
