by Va'al
The official Transformers Facebook page has shared a new video, and we get our first full-on look at the upcoming warrior class Transformers: Robots in Disguise Soundwave figure! As the clip says, the toy takes several generations of Decepticon communications officer design tips, from Transformers: Prime to G1, via recent RID incarnations and War for Cybertron/Fall of Cybertron cues. Check it out below!

Weird how there's no sound for the video.

I like the boxart, but the fact TFP Soundwave now has a faceplate gives an extremely different feel to his character.

It's weird how they completely exclude Cybertron and Animated Soundwave as if they seem to have never existed. And this irritates me.

Don't worry, I did.

Yeah...what's up with the faceplate on the artwork? It's more logical that the show model would use the Prime Soundwave head that's on the toy.

Eh, screw it, the toy looks amazing. I'm sure Takara will show it up, but I don't care. For once, Hasbro dun gud. Now let's see that Blurr.

They skipped the film version too. They skipped every incarnation. It's just the oldest Soundwave vs. the newest Soundwave.

Watch them go show-accurate by painting a faceplate on which ends up looking as good as when they used paint to 'remove' CW/UW Drag Strip's slit teardrop eyes.

I really don't think the box art is automatically indicative of how Soundwave will look in the cartoon. Remember how wildly unlike the cartoon model Steeljaw's box art was?

Robots in Disguise Combiner Force Warrior Stormshot Review

by D-Maximal_Primal
Fellow Seibertronian chuckdawg1999 was lucky enough to get ahold of the latest Robots in Disguise warriors, and was nice enough to share with us his review for new Autobot Stormshot! Stormshot is an all new mold which is heavily based on a combiner wars Aerialbot mold, minus only the combiner port and featuring a tighter backpack, and features a pretty good paint job of red, white, and blue. Stormshot is schedule for release along with wavemates Drift and Blastwave at the very beginning of 2017, so stay tuned for those guys to start showing up in stores!

chuckdawg1999 wrote:Stormshot is the first Warrior Class figure I was able to get from the Combiner Force sub-line of RID. Robot mode is very cool looking, with a nice red, white, and blue color scheme. Transformation is satisfying, although I'm concerned about stress marks on some ports. Overall, Stormshot just might be my favorite figure from RID thus far.

Boy, they sure are getting their mileage out of that leg transformation.
He looks good though. Simple and fun. Dig his robot mode.

i have that issue to. For mine, his left claw does not like staying tabbed in.

Same for me, same goes for the blue :CON: from wave 3 of tr, I don't even know how to fix the problems either :HEADHURTS:

So I kinda have a fix for this issue; transform the arm that's giving you trouble alone, then close the hood on that half, then combine the hood parts and then transform the arm that doesn't give you trouble, and that should work out better, although it's not perfect.

It's a shame this guy is so simple when RiD's transformations were getting pretty impressive. The wing/cockpit section is pretty unique tho.

Still, it's a great looking figure and it's much better disguised than your normal Aerialbot thanks to the hands tucking in and the shoulders looking like fuselage.

They should make a Soundwave boombox. They would make a mint.

Transformers Robots in Disguise (2015) 2017 Wave 1 breakdown

PostPosted: Mon Dec 19, 2016 1:42 pm
by Kurona
Due to a new listing on Entertainment Earth for the entire Wave 10 of the Robots in Disguise (2015) toyline, we have a breakdown of which figures will be included in the wave in which quantities. The new figures - new Autobot mold Stormshot, a redeco of Drift in his IDW colours and a pre-deco of Bludgeon called Blastwave - are unfortunately shortpacked as well as the previously TRU-exclusive Starscream; with unchanged previous releases Grimlock and Strongarm taking up half the case.

2x TRA RID WARRIOR GRIMLOCK
2x TRA RID WARRIOR STRONGARM
1x TRA RID WARRIOR STARSCREAM
1x TRA RID WARRIOR BLASTWAVE
1x TRA RID WARRIOR STORMSHOT
1x TRA RID WARRIOR AUTOBOT DRIFT

Don't forget to tell us what you think in the forums!

Wouldn't it make more sense to double up on at least one of the new figures? I get it Hasbro wants to make sure kids coming into the show can still get their main characters, but I'd think more kids have their main characters already and would want new stuff. Collectors would want the new stuff too, although they're not the target audience. Just a thought.

this assortment is f$%&ing stupid. Grimlock and Strongarm were both in wave 1. which came out in december of 2014. these toys are literally 2 years old. anyone who actually wanted one, be they collector or child has had ample time to procure them.

Consider the re-releases "second chances" for the one who have been waiting for more Decepticons to appear in the line. Some actually did wait.

Putting Strongarm and Grimlock back on the shelf makes sense. They sell and their show appearances haven't really changed. I imagine we'll see these shortpacked figures in later waves in higher quantities to coincide with (presumably) some actual appearances in the show.
