The Official Kre-O Discussion Thread

Thanks to Jacquelyn Orenza on Facebook, we get in-hand images of the Kre-O Battle Changers. These were first seen at SDCC 2014 and they are the first Kre-O sets that can transform without having to take apart and rebuild the sets. The first wave features Optimus Prime, Starscream, Bumblebee and Grimlock.

These are what Kreo Transformers should've been in the first place.

I didn't think I would buy any Kre-o stuff but these are very tempting.

I still want more microchangers. These are great but if these and the new "transformers in different costumes" blindpacks are replacing them I'll be disappointed

I really like that starscream. I can't wait for the Soundwave with Rumble, Frenzy, and Laserbeak.

The problem i have with collecting Kreons compared to LEGOs is the quality.

One thing that LEGO never failed me is that the quality is always top notch. What see at the packaging, you're gonna get 98% accurate to it. Clean mold, sharp printing. Nice colors.

I've collected Micro Changers, some Kreo sets and combiners, but they rarely come out satisfying to me. Their tampograph, especially silver is very poorly aligned. My recent purchase Obsidian has quite an amount of misaligned printings. A micro changer I got Trailbreaker, which I liked because of the nice chest print I see in the packaging, well the print is horribly misaligned.

So far the very VERY best Kreon i got was Jalguar from Series 8 i think. That Kreon has nice colors, and super sharp printing. I could stare on it all day long.

I see Kreos are improving, now with actual transforming figures, and I'm glad. Hopefully they work out with this printing issue, especially their silver printing. I wanna enjoy collecting them.

Give it time. Lego has been doing this for a LOOOOONG time without any real competition in the building block department. If Hasbro keeps doing their Kre-O's then we'll see an increase in quality with them. Of course, Hasbro makes most of their money from other toy lines, so Kre-O, being relatively new, might get the axe if they need to do some cuts.

It's been a while since we last heard about the Hasbro Transformers Kre-O Battle Changers, but thanks to their YouTube channel, we now have a 15 second commercial showing off some stop-motion animation for the line! Check out Grimlock, Optimus Prime and Bumblebee in the embedded clip below.

Whatever happened to the 6th wave of Kre-O? The one with Blackarachnia, Seaspray Gears. Did they show up anywhere?

Did Grimlock stomp Cobra Commander?

Heads up, a lot of the new Kreon parts are NOT compatible with the old ones.

Asia.

It really looks like Kre-O's on it's way out...

Video Review - Kre-O Battle Changers Optimus Prime

With the official Hasbro commercial just showing up, we're happy to share fellow Seibertronian chuckdawg1999's video review of the Optimus Prime set from the Transformers Kre-O Battle Changers line. Check out the video embedded below!

I was never sure if I'd see these sets released in the US but with a commercial popping up on Hasbro's YouTube channel there may be some hope yet. Optimus Prime is a fun build but keep in mind that the Transformation may be a bit fiddly causing parts to pop off.

I'm really happy we'll be seeing these at mass retail. I was starting to think they were going to be canceled.

And, like Chuck said in his video, Canada... I've seen that wave on display at the nearest TRU for over a month.

I've also seen a lot of these in the last month or two... people really need to start telling me when I'm walking past rare finds

Something distressing I noticed in that Battle Changers commercial. The Kre-O website it gives at the end is kre-o.ca. ".ca" is the typical suffix for Canadian websites...

It's been out in Canada. They're actual blindbags too, no codes on them. Wasn't able to find Blackarachnia or Gears, but I got Seaspray. My Seaspray has a Decepticon symbol on him though, instead of an Aubotbot symbol. So it might be worth money. :P :HEADHURTS:

Man, you could've been making a mint off these things selling them across the border.
... assuming shipping, etc. didn't completely kill it.

Well poopy.

I guess it's good none of the newer Kre-O sets are absolute must-haves for me.

What newer sets are we talking about? The RID capture vehicles?
