That Fallen set looks so good. I think I'm going to have to buy a Wheeljack and Trailbraker soon.

Ordered the Hot Rod set moments after I got the email. The much better contrasted hood flame is worth the 7 bucks alone plus I like all the G1 toy stickers and other bits. Also bought the Brainstorm stickers cos I maaaay own that Deluxe someday and for 1 cent I thought I may as well. :D

Really disappointed in that Breakaway set. Every inch of the figure is begging for more colour and we get some small details and a headmaster readout. Frustrating.

THAT SENTINEL SET THO! Holy heck is it incredible!

Some weird timing here. Today my payment went through for several sticker sheets including Titans Hot Rod. And after checking my past Reprolabel Paypal receipts it seems tomorrow is 10 years exactly since I first bought Reprolabels. For CLASSICS Rodimus (Hot Rod)!

The Galvatron helmet isn't bad, but I wish it didn't expose so much of the Titan Master around the face. Would look better without the visible gray areas I think. Kinda big, too, looks too much like a helmet on a helmet. Great idea, just wish it was smaller, still better than the original, though.

That Galvatron set  Fantastic stuff!

Ironhidensh wrote:Do I want to order that set for Downbeat before he is released?
I'm on the fence with Downbeat (looks great but probably one of those "gets replaced by official in two years" things), and that set isn't helping my rational side win out.

That's easy for me. Based on Shockwave and Inferno, I really don't like the direction the official line is taking for the G1 characters (I love the beasts though). At this point, I don't think Takara will produce something better than Downbeat. While I know on this site it isn't a popular opinion, official is just a word to me. 3rd party has surpassed takara.

*edit*
I read this after I posted and I feel it sounds snotty. That wasn't my intention. Sorry.

Gnaw set adds the most significant difference in both modes out of this update. It's remarkable how much it enhances the figure.
Galvatron is next. The one sticker i wanted them to make is one covering the vents on his legs. I've used paint instead but it's rather if had a sticker.
Triggerhappy is my third fave of this update. Really makes the figure pop.

There is a lot of extra plastic there. I know they're trying to bulk it out to bring it up to Voyager size, but I think they went overboard on it.

galvatronhax2.JPG

Look at how far it hangs off the back, that's massive! And from the front with so much of the the Titan Master helmet exposed it just looks like Galvatron is wearing a helmet that doesn't really fit. For all of the original mask's shortcomings at least it covered more from the front.

Image

Plus it's very bland compared to the rest of the figure.

Bland, I agree. But the back part I feel is just right because of that extra stabilizing peg on the Headmaster's heel. They were probably trying to recreate the Studio Ox look. In a TVMag/ Mook, the back helmet looks very much like that.

They were going for the cartoon look where the front at the bottom is flat and the "horns" are connected across the top.

Image

It doesn't really suit the rest of the figure, though, and it makes his face look small being so big.

I would have been fine with the back of the TM feet sticking out the bottom of the helmet, it wouldn't have been very noticeable.

I feel like Reprolabels is doing enough relevant stuff that this should become the official discussion thread.

I think one way to do it smaller while sticking to one color plastic would be to have something that involves taking a screwdriver to the Titan Master and removing the legs. Or replacement TM parts in purple. As a helmet that doesn't modify the underlying figure and a toon homage, they did well. You can wish it wasn't a toon homage or look at modifying the underlying figure. I wouldn't mind IDW or toy variants of this. Or mods that use a screwdriver on the TM or which simply add a face to the pop up crown.

Since I go for toon decos, this works for me. I wouldn't mind a toon chest kit, shoulder pads, fill-in pegs, and articulated hands.

The base figure is pretty good but I think it calls for all the 3rd party add-on love that WFC Grimlock or Wreck-Gar got.

Personally like having "official" figures but I like enhancement kits because I can mix and match or choose what to apply and what not to.

Mania King is too extreme for me. I like Sovereign but that's a bad fit for CHUG. I like CHUG with add-ins.

REPROLABELS (TOYHAX): DISCUSSION AND PICTURES

Totally agree. I was shocked after searching that there wasn't one and had been debating off and on if I should start one. No need now.

And since the title says "and Pictures"...

This set blew my mind. An awesome idea and cranked this toy up to 11 for me.

I love that he has the Speed Planet emblem.

I rode the fence for years on Repros until this year. Always thought they were great, just never pulled the trigger. With sets like this, I'm so glad I took the plunge. Now I anxiously await updates from them.
The 3D stuff they're doing is exciting and I hope they keep it up.
