Is there any reported case of breakage ?

Ultra Magnus has very poor quality. I know nothing specific about the neck, but just transforming it once left stress marks on the bottom of the feet. Supposedly the Takara is better quality.
Really? Mine is holding up rather well. Maybe I just got lucky. Does PMOP have the same problem?

I don't know about Prime, but my Magnus has held up really well too. No stress marks or anything, and he is a figure I pull out fairly regularly

I'll concur on Ultra Magnus being pretty sturdy. I've transformed the hell out of him and everything is still nice and tight with no stress marks anywhere. Only complaint are the crappy hands that can't really hang onto his guns, at least not for long.

How common did Silverbolt's combiner head breakage turn out to be? I've been trying to search for images of that specific point of breakage to show a friend but couldn't find any.

Am I also correct in assuming it's more common on the G2 version than the normal single release?

Never head of that breakage story. For all the time I owned Superion, I never had trouble.
I don't think the kid I sold it to will either.

I also haven't seen it or come across it first hand. I do have both molds and can see some stress marks in the plastic on those areas, which are worse on the G2 version. Ever since I learned there may have been a problem, I have handled them extremely carefully (like super anal-retentive careful).

For me, so far it has been like most of the other CW mold issues. I've seen some plastics stressing, but no breakage.

In fact, out of all of CW and UW, the only figure to actually break on me was Ghost Starscream and even that one I got off lucky on. One if the 2 hinges on his right flip down tail wing cracked, but the other is holding on just fine.

I remember this. I think it was most common on the initial release. I do not recall hearing about it on the G2 version. If memory serves, it was the combiner head pin and hinge area. My Silverbolts are still packed from my move last spring. Here's a thread on Allspark, if that helps, though with broken Photobucket links. :-x

So I'm looking for...

-Alpha Bravo and Offroad because of...reasons
-Blast Off to go with Onslaught because of...reasons
-Rook because he's cool

Anywhere online I can get them for a reasonable price?

Assuming you're in America, I found Onslaught on Amazon for 20$?

Oops, uh...I already have Onslaught. Sorry for not making that clear, I just need the deluxes. Thanks though, and yes, I'm in America.

Good luck with every one of those. They are all really hard to find for anything less than $30. I've wanted another Alpha Bravo to turn into shattered glass Vortex, but he is no where to be found decently priced

The head broke on mine. I have cyclonus too so I’m afraid that's gonna break. Is the cyclonus figure known to break?

My Silverbolt is still packed away, but here are some things I found online. (I suspected that the images were hosted at Photobucket and now are not showing in a general image search. These pics came from a couple of threads over on TFW2005.)

Here's a couple pics of a Silverbolt breakage of the hinge holding Superion's head:

Here is a pic I found showing UW Galvatronus with reinforced hinges, to show the location near the abs.

It's more common on Silverbolt, but we can chalk that up to him being a first wave figure and thus more readily available. As mentioned in the post above, later versions of the mold have the hinge reinforced. This retool can be found on:

- Later releases of standalone CW Scattershot (the Betatron one)
- UW Tactician Cyclonus, part of the Grand Galvatron set
- UW Scattershot, part of the Computicon set
- box set CW Scattershot

All versions of Silverbolt, plus CW Cyclonus, have the original hinge, so be careful with it.

Thanks for the tip.

I have CW Cyclonus, UW Cyclonus, UW Scattershot and UW Silverbolt. I'll take extra care.

Well here's something out of left field. The Combiner Wars G2 Menasor box set has been spotted at Target, at full-price, no less. This is quite odd, as the set originally only saw release at online retail in 2015, and showed up in discount chains like TJMaxx and Marshalls last year, skipping big-box retailer physical locations entirely. Not only that, but this comes more than two years after the set was released. Fellow Seibertronian Cprime18 spotted the big fella at a Target in San Antonio, Texas, and below is photo proof. Has anyone else spotted and anomalous releases like this? Please let us know! And while you're at it, you can check out Seibertron's own G2 Menasor gallery right here!

Hopefully the high price will deter would-be scalpers. The Cartwheel discount... I need to get my fluffy rear over there and see if other sets will be available there. Me wants Computron!

I always did like the horns on that figure. Though I tend to wait for sales on combiners.

What part of the world do you live in?

This was newsworthy because of the randomness of the sighting, years after the set's release, at a place it'd never been available before, and where, it just happens, is one of the largest retailers of toys in the U.S.

Australia. They've really been shelf warming at TRU AU for a bloody long time. Probably because of how TRU AU jacks the prices up on their crap.

Could be, but I did check Target.com for store availability. Sadly, that info is unavailable, but people have been looking for the other sets, plus the Bruticus one is one of the first to appear in the total list.
