I think these are way better than the arms microns we got before.

How does this look like an octopus (speaking of looking dumb):

And remember these? I would rather we dont go back to this:

But if you liked them, thats cool.

I kinda get the sentiment, at least the microns made epic weapons, if the mini-cons at least had ball-jointed shoulders and thighs, I'd like them way more :(

Look at that Bumblebee in this pic and it's weapon mode and letme know if it looks epic to you.

hint hint, its not

Also, while the octopus did make a decent pile driver weapon for Frenzy and Rumble, you only got one per figure. I cannot express how much that blows.

I love the names. they are getting some good ones (and some good jokes) in there. Lest we forget Hammer and Anvil :D :MAXIMAL:

Eh, I dunno. If Back and Forth were sold together it wouldn't bother me so much, but them being sold separately kinda kills the joke.

As for the naming guys, there are still some seriously terrible names for some of these guys. Lord Doomitron would be bad enough for a Big Bad, but for a Minicon? :BANG_HEAD:

Hammer and Anvil on the other hand is great.

It kinda reminds me of armada terradive - who was awesome... til the soft plastic cracked where the claw attaches to the body :BANG_HEAD:

They weren't all great, but they were refreshingly different, and they look a lot cooler than the dumb, upcoming sword mini-con and his doofy face chillin' on the side of the sword.

Of all the galleries to start up a fun discussion on the ol' Energon Pub, these were not the ones I thought would accomplish that. Four more to go and then it's on to the 4 2-Pack Battle Packs.

Hammer and Anvil= Blacksmithing. Iron work. Specifically a lot of heat and then brutal beating.

Arms Microns had all those crazy (sometimes crazy-awesome) weapon combinations with sometimes equally awesome names.

Indeed. The Wiki has you covered, listing every single official weapon combination (but sadly is lacking in pages and/or pics for some of them) - http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Arms_Micron

Is it just me, or does Powerglide look depressed in his boxart?

 Yes he does.

Also, I want to point something out that may not be known by all. A BIG difference between the TAV insecticons and the Hasbro generations ones is that Takara molded circles in their chests to acomodate the stickers.

I think they were deigned with Transformers G1 in mind, but why add them to the Transformers Adventure lineup :-?

 Nice to see a fellow whovian.

Well, Takara is simply considering the TAV line a catch all line to issue a bunch of figures. There's animated redecos, older generations figures and these here. I agree that they should be more for the legends line but Takara is marketting for kids here with the interactivity so I guess they think that market is more lucrative for these figures.

Though, the bios given to each Adventure toy peg them as characters native to Adventure's continuity. Adventure Lockdown, for instance, isn't the same guy as Animated Lockdown.

Yes, definitely but for fans picking these toys up, I dont think they are stopping from buying these because the bios dictate that these insecticons are different characters an thus cant be on their shelves with their other classics toys.

I feel the bio is more of a way to incorporate these toys within the app/continuity rather than the toys being mae to be part of this app/continuity. Similarly to how they did their Legends line. Sure, there is a legends universe where they all fit together, but that's just a cute side extra for fun rather than be a fully developped universe created inorder to sell these toys. What I am saying here is that in both cases, the toys come before the fiction rather than being a product of it.
