As it stands, both the Aerialbots and the Stunticon teams are complete after the first two waves: 4 Aerialbots and a Stunticon for Wave 1, 1 Aerialbot and 4 Stunticons in Wave 2. I understand it's frustrating not having complete teams from the get-go, especially if your area is prone to wave skipping.

To me, it's a nightmare not having complete combining teams, with any line (see my signature). The feeling of "something's missing" will continue to haunt me until I complete them. So I'll try and wait until Wave 2 before hunting actively.

The whole mixing the Combiners in seperate Waves is just a marketing thing. It's to promote the whole Scramble City vibe, a mix'n'match gimmick really. If you buy Drag Strip just to "complete" Superion, you may be tempted to go out and get the other 4 Stunticons in the next Wave.

Well, I think part of it is the idea that they'll add something a bit extra with the Legends bots as being target/powermasters. The other part is that they probably don't want too many figures being too samey. I'm guessing that they figured that, with already having Firefly, Skydive and Air Raid, adding in Slingshot too is going to make things too samey and boring. Likewise you already have Deadend and Breakdown so they thought they'd spice things up a bit by adding a different type of car in Offroad. I guess Wildrider and Slingshot drew the short straws. I'm positive we'll see Third Party figures of them soon enough for the completionists out there.

If they did the Combaticons I doubt they'd change anything because of the 5 having very different alt modes. Then again, I don't think they'll go back for the Combaticons since it's been done recently.

As for the Protectobots, I'm sure I remember seeing that Groove is going to be a Legends figure, so he won't be a limb. If that's the case then I wonder who the new member will be.

There is one other thing I did think about when considering why they didn't just stay 100% faithful to the G1 iterations. I guess, like with the Generations theme, along with the IDW comics, they're paying homage to, and rebooting, the G1 era. That doesn't mean that they can't change things around. The comics already have very different outcomes for some of these Combiner characters already, and that might be a factor if they want to tie-in this product line with the comics (I haven't got that far into the IDW comics yet, so can't say whether this is happening, but it seems a likely outcome to me).

I find their lack of Slingshot highly disturbing.

Back in the day, he was the favorite Aerialbot of my best friend and me. Now they have some dumb helicopter instead. Boo.

(I still want them, I want them all, but I have so little monies and stores here are so crappy with distribution now)

That's what better jobs are for, and why Al Gore invented the Inter-webs. :D :CON:

He's super cereal.

I don't mind the new members, and I can see why Air Raid was left out of W1 as his lower half is identical to Skydive's (just more black, less grey).

Off-road looks to be a cool figure, and I've got the Arms Micron Wildrider as a stand in for him, so character wise I'm not losing out.

Iirc, Groove's limb replacement has been named "Rook." I wonder what Altmode he'll have, Fire engine, rescue chopper, police car and ambulance are already taken - Swat van redeco of First Aid or Off-road?
