For me,Beast Hunters Ratchet.Image
What is with all the rust, the green monocle on his right eye,the green circle on his chest and the ice cream shredder drill of stuff?? #-o :???: #-o :???:
Frankly, he looks better in his Go! repaint.

Here are the two side by side in robot mode:

Go! Hunter Ratchet was captured by the Decepticons and exposed to Dark Energon, turning him into a Decepticon. Personally, I have repurposed him as a Mad Terrorcon Scientist called Lifeline, with Cliffjumper, Dead End and Rumble ("Scrapmetal") as guards.

And weird... can't say I've had weird Transformers in my collection, really. Maybe it's because I never expect anything to be "normal" with Transformers, or maybe I'm just weird myself

Huh, never noticed the chest design before on Beast Hunters Ratchet. Looks kinda similar to the Horde logo from MOTU.

So a weird Transformer? One I do have(though there's plenty more to choose from)is the first Beast Machines Optimus Primal:

The gorilla mode is sorta haunting, that face. The robot mode isn't too bad, but one arm does have a spring loaded throwing gimmick while the other doesn't, and that's odd. Then there's the other gimmick where you can move the ?skullcap? on the head and it gives the illusion that his eyes are widening. It's a rare expression gimmick, but it's also strange.

And lest we not forget the figure is almost completely show inaccurate.

Weirdest I own is probably ROTF Soundwave. The two modes are neither, though I am strangely drawn to the satellite mode. There's a useless missile launcher behind the head, with really good Ravage detailing. It's shorter in 'robot' mode than alt-mode, nothing really blocks into place, and you can't really pose it on a shelf or flat surface without it collapsing or just not having the appendages to do so.

And yet, I still have it.

I think Beast Wars II and Neo both have very good claims for the title, though.

I can tell you that I vividly remember G1 topspin being sooo weird to me. Don't remember the name of the gimmick, but he and TwinTwist basically you'd pull back and let roll away in vehicle mode, then they were supposed to jump and "transform" and stand up. Basically the vehicle was the robot's legs folded on top of the chest.

Well, they didn't look like any kind of real vehicle, I couldn't tell if he was a plane or a car, and of course, the gimmick didn't work, and of course, he was an unknown character. I didn't even think it was a real transformer. I think my mom got it because she was sick of me asking her to transform wheeljack.

Jumpstarters. And if you think they were weird back then, imagine how weird it was a year or two back when they released new ones designed to look like Marvel characters like Spider-Man and Iron Man.
