Shipping Fortress Maximus is a pain in the ass!

Has anyone ever tried shipping a boxed Fort Max? What a headache this is! If you can find a box to fit the damned thing in, it's ludicrously oversized. I had to get two large boxes and combine them into one giant box. That's a fun time. Once you get this completed, you still have to actually get this heavy-ass Frankenbox to the post office.
Urgh.
Anyone else have similar troubles?

I've never thought of that... ouch, that's gotta be a pain!

I had to ship a set of full-sized replicas of the 'bots from MST3K once. Crow and Gypsy were a nightmare.

I'm expecting a Fort Max in the mail any day now (not the one the original poster sent), so I'll be thinking of your post when I open it.

Appreciate the effort that went into it!
My next round of shipping is a piece of cake. A couple of Gekiranger Mechs and a 1981 GoLion model kit. One box, three pieces of tape. Simple.

Ironically, I bought a new digital camera to take pictures of it...but did not record my suffering for posterity.
