Thanks everyone! It was a ton of work to set up this shot. Unicron fell on the poor Autobots several times, though it doesn't seem like anyone was damaged fortunately. Maybe I'll notice a paint scratch or something later but nothing glaring at the moment thankfully. I took more photos from this shot but it was way too much work to remove the fishing line from the picture that I used to hold Unicron and the Decepticons up above the Autobots. Here's a before pic of the same shot in a rare "behind the scenes of Seibertron.com's galleries" that I thought you guys might enjoy seeing.

Definitely the worst Warpath tank mode of all. The original is still the best. This one looks like an afterthought from a beginner designer. It's disrespectful to G1 Warpath and Transformer designers alike. Awful, just awful. Try harder Hasbro.

It's just a fun little repaint of legends Megatron no need to get all worked up about it.

This is it, the gallery you've been waiting for...

New Gallery: SDCC 2015 Combiner Wars Devastator

Still unsure about Devastator? Still unsure about the bling the SDCC version is rockin'? Well check out our newest gallery to help you decide! (I have the retail version in hand and I must say it's worth the money, so while I can't say much about the chrome, I'd imagine if you're an SDCC junkie, this guy is perfect for you!)

Our galleries of the individual bots will be released over the weekend, so you'll have something to enjoy when you come home from your 4th of July celebrations, something that'll make you paw the screen and drool. (And probably open your wallets...c'mon, we only live once!)

Before we head onto the gallery, make note of the special edition packaging, chrome accents and G1 toy accurate paint apps used to match those of the sticker sheet that came with the original many moons ago. (You can see the original in our galleries by clicking right here.)

Without further ado, we proudly present 2015 San Diego Comic Con exclusive Combiner Wars Titan Class Devastator!

If Devastator's chest piece and some of the other Constructicon parts are a different hue of purple, why not replace the rest of the old purple to the attention drawing purple? It would make more sense.

Chrome paint is expensive yo. Maybe they blew most of the budget on giving Devs stereoscopic vision. Maybe they got halfway through chroming up the purple bits and ran out of budget.

In all honesty I don't understand the Chrome paint on this. If all the Purple was chrome, it might look great. But the mixed types of paint is kind of distracting.

Purple is a really hard color to get right, especially in photography. A single shift to either red or blue can change the appearance on the image dramatically, while in person it looks totally different.

Meh. Looks okay, but I'll just wait for the Takara release with proper elbows and guns for the individual bots and more detailed paint apps. I'm not liking the chrome at all. I appreciate that they seem to be trying to give us what we want, but it's like they just don't quite understand how we want it. The purple areas are the last thing I would want chromed. I would prefer chrome where chrome makes realistic sense on the vehicles and maybe just mirror the chrome on the old G1 toys on the bots. I figure the Takara version plus the various third-party upgrades with make a fine MP Devy.

Oh yeah, I know. I took plenty of Color Theory and Study classes getting my art degree. Even the shade of Green on Devs affects how the Purple looks.

This has probably already been discussed (I'm too lazy to read the previous 14 pages of comments). So this set was designed by Shogo, who's been hitting home runs in the MP line. Seems to me the Takara version is how this set was originally designed, with the elbows and whatnot, and the Hasbro version is the remold. I can't imagine Shogo not have individual bot modes with no elbows in his original design. I assume Hasbro cut them as a cost saving measure?

The extra engineering on the Takara version was done afterward by Takara. Hasbro's was engineered first.

The latest issue of Figure King shows the parts altered for Takara's version in the grey prototype stage while the rest of the (unpainted) figure is unchanged from the finalized Hasbro version, showing that the changes were made after the Hasbro version was made:

Additionally, the changes made to Hook's and Mixmaster's arms to give them better elbows by adding new elbow joints did not replace the joints that were already made for the Hasbro version, instead keeping the Hasbro elbow joints intact, making their arms now have double-jointed elbows while the other Constructicons only have single-jointed elbows, further showing that these changes were made after Hasbro's version was done.

Well at least I know I do not need the sdcc version even though it's shiny.

Takara for sure, but I think I'll grab a regular HASBRO for me and my boys to mess with.

By now you have undoubtedly checked out our SDCC 2015 Devastator gallery (If you haven't then by all means get to clicking). Now its time to break down Devy into his component Constructicons featuring Scrapper, Hook, Long Haul, Bonecrusher, Scavenger and Mixmaster. This sextet features more paint apps than the standard retail edition and as you can see the chrome purple also extends into the robot modes of Scrapper, Hook and Mixmaster as well. What else more is there to say about these guys? Click on the images below to see the full galleries.

Anybody else notice that the front section of Devy's rifle looks like Galavatron's arm cannon?

Devy's left foot is so weird. Like, Mixmaster is designed to have an ankle-tilt in combined mode, like Scrapper, but you can't actually tilt without bending his arms out of the way and having them hang off the back of the leg.

I'm curious if anyone really likes the metallic purple on this figure. It seems out of place and I find it distracting... and kind of ugly.

I like the chrome. I only transforms my figures once in a while, so not afraid the chrome will rub off. I love to display my transformers under the blue/white lighting. Any color chrome and white plastic shines under the light. It's beautiful. The only gripe I have about the devastator is the left mixer facing up. It's weird. The bigger part of the mixer should face up. But oh, well.
