for me car modes have been done ok fair enough the micromasters have still to be done and its about time the constructicons got their due

but with that said enough with the cars all ready

id love for Hasbro to take a crack at the animals and the monster cons or the pretenders whole list of non virhicle (sp) transformers

Animals and monsters of any kind are verboten on my shelves, with those very rare few exceptions. IMHO, it's either simply going from one weirdly proportioned semi-humanoid to a different weirdly proportioned humanoid, or it's like 90% of Beast Wars - "Stand up on hind legs, flip down or back head, stick tail in hand as weapon".

Cars will ALWAYS be good, as will jets. Me, I'd like to see more household electronics, like the Real gear line, with the in-universe note that they are "actual size", and are teeny tiny spy types having a secret war under the noses of both the big bots and the humans. Maybe some more lesser known military alt modes besides tanks and jets - there's only a couple actual Hummers, and very few wheeled armored cars (though the Wreckage / Bludgeon mold from 2007 is a notable and excellent exception), for example.

Me? I'd love to see Ironhide and Ratchet re-done as large conversion vans instead of SUV's, but I know it won't happen. And perhaps they could add a few more bots along the size of the City Bots by making them huge naval vessels - carriers, battleships, cruisers, etc. We do have Tidal Wave, but he is really beginning to show his age. And some Cybertronian modes would be acceptable, but they have a disturbing tendency to end up as one of three things - futuristic cars that may as well be real cars with a body job, those stupid wedge fighters from MTMTE pt 1, or robots doing yoga and pretending it's an alt mode.

You can't really get rid of cars when one of the factions is the AUTObots.

Anyway, I really don't like when they have beast modes. I mean, Dinobots are one thing, but stuff like gorillas, it's like why even transform at all. And if there's a robot that turns into a panther, what does that say for Ravage who's robot mode is a panther? I just don't care for that sort of thing in general, though some are good, and i'd be totally up for Generations G1 Predacons.

So I guess I'd like less beast modes, not that I think they over do it right now anyway, and there are some I'd be down for.


More of... I really don't know. Rather than alt modes in general, I'd like more ways to have them have modes that interact with other figures, not necessarily in combiner sort of ways, but like how the tapes and Soundwave interact, or how Tidal Wave could be used by Megatron as added armament. Was it Straxus that had a mode where he could be used as a turret by other figures? That sort of thing.

this is a neat idea. and outside of the real gear figures, its something gone largely ignored since the G1 days. seeing a comeback for those, or having characters with alt modes like that in a main line would be nice to see.

as far as cars and jets? those are a staple, they aint goin nowwhere.

and me... id like more beast formers. although we had beast hunters, and they werent my cup of tea...

You got it right Valandar! I'm sick of Movieverse BB car mode. Henkei and Alternity versions were great. The Movieverse............so much.

Sick of: The usual sportcars, jets, tanks

Needs more of: Buses. Even better if it comes with interiors. Garbage truck with working trash compactor, ferries, Vespa scooters and pickup trucks with wooden bed


Basically, any super common vehicles that doesn't cost gazillions and turn heads everytime they go down the streets. They're supposed to be robots in disguise, afterall.

Bonus: Vehicles from other parts of the world eg: Thailand's Tuk-tuk

Eh, part of the problem may be that modern cars all kind of look the same. There's the prius cheese wedge, Mazda 3 bubble car, and mid-size sedan. Then you've got the too big pickup and standard SUV. Outside of that you have to get to ridiculously expensive cars. Out of all those, which one did you think a 9 year old kid is going to say, "Mommy, buy me that!"

Some things to consider, INPO:
1. Limousine (I like this recommendation, but then we're again getting away from robots in disguise).
2. Trains
3. Civilian aircraft (smaller vehicles that fit more in line with a car or truck)
4. Commercial aircraft, 2 in 30 some years (Octane and Silverbolt)
5. There are a lot of military aircraft beside A10s, F15s, and F18s. How about one of the 24-hr command planes (can't remember what it's called), a B1 or B2, WWII Era fighters.
6. Non-shuttle space craft, although this gets into a lack of interest from kids.
7. Aircraft carriers.
8. Mining equipment
9. Garbage truck
10. Bus, it would have to be a tour bus. New girl toy with artist dejour on the side. JEM tie-in!
11. Civilian drones, think of the mini-cons...
12. Armored car (do they still have those?)
13. 4-wheelers
14. Snowmobiles, lol.
15. Really surprised more hummers haven't been used.
16. Rental trucks
17. Wind turbine
18. Space bridge (could be used for DJD, too)
19. Whatever the heck Rung turns into!
20. Off shore oil rig?
21. I'm really at a loss when it comes to military vehicles outside of hummers and tanks, but there have to be more.
22. I want something as crazy as Omega Supreme's alt mode, a rocket guarded by a tank on train tracks.
23. Space lab or whatever is.
24. Forklifts
25. Snowplow
26. Roadgrader
27. Tractor
28. Combine
29. Battleships
30. Ferry
31. Swamp boat
32. Yacht
33. Dragster
34. Segwey?
35. Hoverboard? Obviously, Sunstorm would lose his seeker status and turn inot tjis.

Totally agreeing with the Segway. It would look really weird in robot mode though because there's not a lot of mass to work with. A mini-con would be fine since oddly proportioned bots are more acceptable there, though it would be neat if a deluxe sized Starscream could ride around on it....

As for buses, in the 30+ years of Transformers, there still hasn't been an official Transformers bus has there? There's been a Machine Robo one and probably one or two from another line.

A limo would be fine, and I don't think it would be too out of place.

As for modes I'd personally like to see, a line dedicated to Cryptids and other legendary creatures!

-Sasquatch obviously.
-A yeti repaint/remold would be logical.
-The Loch Ness Monster!
-Ogopogo could be another remold/repaint.
-Quetzalcoatl
-Chupacabra
-The Kraken could be a voyager sized stylized squid
-An actual Gryphon(Beast Machines Silverbolt has a supposed alternate beast mode).
-The Hydra
-Cerberus
-Medusa(oh wait, we have ROTF Arcee for that don't we? )
-A Pegasus! Maybe could come packed with a highly posable but non transformable Cybertronian warrior that could ride it.
-A Satyr (though BW Ramulus practically fits the bill).
-A Minator, though that's more of a robot mode aesthetic.

And last but by no means least, the Cryptids from my home state of West Virginia, the Mothman and the Flatwoods Monster!



And yes those are stylized versions of the two.

Well, seeing as this has been necrobumped, I think I'll contribute.

I can't really think of many modes I'm sick of to be honest. I suppose the trend of fembots being motorcycles annoys me somewhat. I suppose.

Now alt modes I'd like to see more of? Hoo boy, how long do you have?

Firstly I'd like to see some construction vehicles outside the normal "Constructicon 6". So perhaps a tar spreader, an earth scraper, a trencher, and holy slag a STEAMROLLER would be nice.

Some unconventional military vehicles would be cool. So an engineering tank, a minesweeper vehicle, an anti-aircraft tank that isn't a Gepard, and perhaps some WW2-style tanks? I for one would love to see Megatron as a King Tiger.

Emergency vehicles are fairly common...for the Autobots. Decepticon emergency vehicles are something we need more of.

Which is why Steamhammer and the PCC Constructicons are so awesome(besides being a legitimately good set):




Now if only they'd make transforming versions.

I want to see more Cybertronian car modes

Have they ever done a Combine Harvester as an Alt-Mode? I know Combine Harvesters are not terribly exciting on their own but it could make for an interesting bot when transformed.

I would also love to see a larger scale (say Voyager or even Leader Class) figure of Megatron in his Stealth Bomber form, a B-2 certainly stands out among the many aircraft we have had.
