The "Holy Grail" of your collection?

What is the most prized figure or "Holy Grail" of your collection? For me, my goal when I started collecting as an adult was to complete the collection of toys that were out when I was a kid. My favourites being the Original Transmetals and the Brand New Molds of Autobots from the 2001 RiD line.

As of now I completely my Transmetals through online and thrift shopping. I found a complete Optimus for $5 at a second hand shop. $6 Rampage missing his Gun, Missles and two legs. I've since found them online and all 12 of these guys are complete now

Image

I got the Autobot brothers Sideburn, Prowl and X-Brawn for Christmas when I was 11 and a couple years ago set out collecting the three combiners Rail Racer, Omega Prime and Landfill. Through online stores and sellers I've got them all complete minus Ultra Magnus' missles

Image

These may not be the best figures or the rarest but they hold sentimental value to me and they showcase some unique aspects of Transformers history and engineering. These are the toys I'm most proud of owning.

What are you most proud of in your collection? What do you consider your "Holy Grail"?

My VF-1S Super Valkerie. My favorite childhood toy neck to neck with my G1 Ultra Mags. He looks like G1 Jetfire with Military Gray armor, and I got to enjoy him several years before everyone else in my neighborhood.

G1 Shockwave jumps to my mind immediately as my holy grail. Along with my G1 Megs. I have others that i totally love but these two hit a nerve with me, especially Shockwave.

That's pretty cool! :D

I can't ever really think of any of my figures as grails, though I obviously care deeply about my three MPs, and my Eva-01 Awakening Version. I'll ponder some more on this. :-?

Galaxy Force NoiseMaze - Mass Production Model
Botcon Antagony, Packrat, Fractyl and Vice Grip
Botcon '05 Ratchet was happened upon by pure chance.

Those are the ones I had to actually hunt for. Nowadays with me being all caught up on the past stuff I liked, I don't have "Holy Grails" any more :(

Edit: That's a lie. There's still one Galaxy Force figure I've been keeping my eyes open for - that's the Cody (Colby?) Ramble figure repaint

Just remembered. My Trypticon. I wanted him sooooooo bad as a kid but got Scorponok instead at xmas time. I was totally grateful to get anything at all at xmas time especially a massive TF like Scorponok who is pretty awesome in his own right but admittedly i was deeply disappointed about not getting Trypticon. I NEEDED that figure when i was a wee child above anything else in life...lol.

So getting him in my adult life has filled a void and this alone puts him up into Grail status in my collection.

Of the four 90's Botcon toys I don't have, this one is going to be the most painful to spend money on. Damn thing runs a mint these days.

That's legit awesome. :)

Mine probably are MP-01 Optimus Prime and G1 Bluestreak. Prime's one of my favorite Masterpieces, and Bluestreak was my first Transformer toy back in 1984. Ah, memories. :)

I would say MP 05 Megatron. He impresses me a lot and is of such a grand scale. A very imposing figure in every which way. I really like my G1 Slugslinger too though, as well as my Predaking reissue and TF Expo exclusive MP Lambor.

I dont really know if I have a grail per se, but these always impress me.

I don't quite recall how much I spent on her ($400 maybe?)

Dare I inquire about how much she's going for these days?

About the same. Only one on ebay right now is $450 BiN. At least I got a deal on Vice Grip and only paid about $80 for it, he can go for $200+ which is crazy for such a terrible deco.

you mean, the prototype for the grimlock repaint? or the actual repaint? cause ive got a MOSC one already.

and thanks y'all! my shrine has been in the works for a while and id say im about 70% done. but i should really get around to posting its progress...

the shrine is of BW dinobot, and is of any figure made of him, any repaint, and any mold-mate. also, two of each, one loose one sealed. it also includes package variations (within reason). perhaps ill work on posting some stuff this week! ;)

Honestly don't bother buying rare, low producion toys or hard to find popular toys.

Most of the stuff I buy is stuff thats easy to find and had high productions runs.

What I consider valuable stuff in my TF toy collection, Is stuff that I felt HasTak made really well and beyond standards. With all this said. I consider most of My HasTak MP TF toys to fit in this thread category. Also put most movie verse leader scale toys in this thread category. As far as singular TF toys goes, Shout outs go towards Transmetals 2 Tigerhawk, Titanium Rodimus Prime, Animated leader scale Megatron. Armada Unicron, Cybertron Primus, 2001 Rid Super scale Optimus and Ultra Magnus.

Won't bother listing 3rd party stuff, Since this isn't the section for that discussion.

I'm with you there! I found Primus at a Flea Market last year for $12. It was a mom selling her kid's old toys and didn't realize what she had. He's missing the Unicron head, the missles and the omega lock but I was very happy to get him for what I did.
