So, now that I finally have a Devestator in hand, I'd thought Id share some thoughts on the big lug, and damn, he really is a big lug. Big. That will be the key word in this post.
I suppose I should mention that this is the Takara Unite Warriors version. Bough during HLJ's sale last week for less than most of you paid for your Hasbro version. The extras on this version are more than worth it.
I just cant' get over how big this guy is. For my tastes, he is actually too big. He stands way out of place in my collection, as you can see. As individual bots, the Constructicons are pretty cool, but still huge. They do fit in a little better than Devy himself, though. I think I'm keeping him, so Ihave to get a new shelf just for him, so he doesn't look so horribly out of place like he does when on display with other bots. I really think that Devy should have been made from deluxe sized bots, not voyagers. Oh, well, whats done is done.
So let's break him down by individual bots.
Scrapper: easily my favorite. Looks the closest to original, and just such and amazing udate.
Hook: again, a great update
Mixmaster: He'd be rated above Hook, but his feet are a little on the big side.
Bonecrusher: This guy is scarlly close to the original as well.
Scavenger: Meh, great figure, but I've never cared for this one.
Longhaul: This dude is just a piece of ****. Serisously, what the hell were the designers thinking? He looks terrible.
Overall, I really like Devy. A lot more than Ithought I would. THe main reason I bought him, is because I realized that the sale price was so good, I'd be able to sell him for a profit on ebay, even with the stupid high shipping costs, for a good deal more than I paid, if Iso decided to.
LIke I said earlier, I think I'm keeping him. Devy is just too unique of a figure to let go of.
