It was her 2nd birthday last Saturday and Devastator wanted in on the construction of it Friday night

After I put it together I had to throw him in there. It would've been Metroplex if he wasn't in a storage bin! Or one of each, or another one of them fighting each other for a chance to ride the tricycle

So, now that I finally have a Devestator in hand, I'd thought Id share some thoughts on the big lug, and damn, he really is a big lug. Big. That will be the key word in this post.

Image

I suppose I should mention that this is the Takara Unite Warriors version. Bough during HLJ's sale last week for less than most of you paid for your Hasbro version. The extras on this version are more than worth it.

I just cant' get over how big this guy is. For my tastes, he is actually too big. He stands way out of place in my collection, as you can see. As individual bots, the Constructicons are pretty cool, but still huge. They do fit in a little better than Devy himself, though. I think I'm keeping him, so Ihave to get a new shelf just for him, so he doesn't look so horribly out of place like he does when on display with other bots. I really think that Devy should have been made from deluxe sized bots, not voyagers. Oh, well, whats done is done.

So let's break him down by individual bots.

Scrapper: easily my favorite. Looks the closest to original, and just such and amazing udate.

Hook: again, a great update

Mixmaster: He'd be rated above Hook, but his feet are a little on the big side.

Bonecrusher: This guy is scarlly close to the original as well.

Scavenger: Meh, great figure, but I've never cared for this one.

Longhaul: This dude is just a piece of ****. Serisously, what the hell were the designers thinking? He looks terrible.

Overall, I really like Devy. A lot more than Ithought I would. THe main reason I bought him, is because I realized that the sale price was so good, I'd be able to sell him for a profit on ebay, even with the stupid high shipping costs, for a good deal more than I paid, if Iso decided to.

LIke I said earlier, I think I'm keeping him. Devy is just too unique of a figure to let go of.

I think he looks awesome, personally. A fitting centerpiece for Devastator and an imposing bot on his own. It probably helps that I have no attachment to the G1 characters, and I don't mind Devy being bigger than the other combiners either.

Also it's Devastator. Only one "e" in his name.

Scrapper is my favourite as well, and blows everyone else away for how solid he is. And this is how you can know that you are happy with your Takara version. While Scrapper is a solid toy, the Hasbro version doesnt have elbows and while many are ok with that on the Hasbro version, he ends up never being hailed as the best (in Hasbro's Devastator) when he truly is. So while I am glad people are happy with their Hasbro Devastator, it is evident that many do not know what they are missing, and most probably never will know.

Elbows!

I find the individual bots pale in comparison to Devastator. Devastator really is better than the sum of his parts. The most fun I have with the set is combining them.

Reissue of CW Titan Class Devastator Incoming

Greetings Seibertronians! We've learned some interesting news coming from the land down under. Ozformers, has shared the news they received from Hasbro Australia that Combiner Wars Titan Class Devastator is being reissued! For Australian Transformers fans, this means that the local Amazon branch getting 300 units to list on October - November time. A comment was made that it looks like Amazon has exclusive rights to this Titan Class reissue, so its best for non-Australian fans to keep their eyes peeled to their local divisions of Amazon to see if listings crop up there.

From the Ozformers post, it appears nothing will be changed for this release.

What do you think of this? Have you already grabbed a Devy? Either the Hasbro or Unite Warriors version? Or does mark your first chance to get him without having to turn to eBay? Let us know in the Energon Pub and stay tuned to Seibertron for all the latest news and reviews!

Good news! You're going to die with all of your organs intact (or at least you wont be selling any for MP Devi). The CW figure was intended to be an MP until HasTak decided they didn't want to do an MP combiner and dumbed it down for CW (and then reinstated a bunch of parts for the far superior Japanese Unite Warriors line. Yes, there's supposed to be an MP Raiden coming, but that's likely a one-off since Japan LOVES trains in ways the rest of the world doesn't understand.

Yep. I too have the Unite Warriors version. It's a great toy. Had a great time listening to most of the reviewers on Youtube trash it simply because they had already spent 3x the amount of money on a third party option that didn't even look as good, nor as screen accurate in combined mode.

Such a great toy, I must say it again...
