I find them atrociously awesome. So ugly that they are cute, like a pug. Plus, you also have the option to consider them a G2 Victorion.

I guess... but it doesn't quite pass into that threshold that G2 Bruticus and Action Master Thundercracker do for me. It just kind of looks bad, as if someone desperately wanted to prove to me that no, black with everything isn't always good despite what I usually think.

What if they were actually neon? Like light up tubes of gas? That would be AMAZFACE!
Light piping from the future! :HALUC:

Damn, me too.

I wonder if they would glow under a blacklight? I now know the 1st thing I'm trying once I get my hands on them.

Unless Death beats you to it ;) . I wasn't even aware the G2 CW sets glowed under black light until I saw his reviews. I still wonder if that was intentional by Hasbro or just coincidental.

I hope on purpose. I love glowing things

I honestly don't see how this is any harder to look at than CW Liokaiser.

The colors give me a 1980's Punk vibe.

Yep....those colors look amazing on this combiner. Waaaay better than Victorion. Maybe it's the pose and symmetry of it that really make those colors really pop.

I'd buy this. It does need some more neon though.

If/when I get this I'm going to combine her asymmetrically I think. Not sure whether to go "one side helicopters, one side cars" or complete chaos/diagonal asymmetry. I'm also going to get Shapeways...ing and make Megaempress some upgrades to make her look more railgun-y but that's another story.

Takara had a missed opportunity in painting inside the two holes on Shuttler's chest either black or dark gray to both break up the sea of orange on his chest and to emulate the vents he had on his chest in those spots in the cartoon:

I see a typo I wrote. "Holds" should have been "holes". That make more sense to what I wrote?

I get what you mean about breaking the color monotony but to put the parts in human terms, the Shuttler/Blastoff mold doesn't have too much of an "underboob" where he a "human". It's more of a "petanko" that even if Takara painted on it it would come out clumsy. At least that's how I see it in my UW Bruticus.

I'm just suggesting that they paint the holes black/gray, not that they paint actual vent lines in those holes.

Looking on Computicon, they could have but they didn't as that image I put ups seems to be that Baldigus has gone gold already. I could be wrong but highly unlikely.

That's why I used the words "missed opportunity" in my original post.

In the show, was it really a paint app or just a shadow formed from an angle?

As did his original toy (but on which were unpainted):

Too bad that his "modern" version doesn't have one.

From official Takara Tomy Transformers account TF_pr, we have a new image of members of their upcoming Unite Warriors UW-EX Megatronia set, featuring the helitwins! Repaints of the Victorion set's Stormclash and Skyburst figures (the Alpha Bravo mold with new headsculpts) Lunaclub and Moonheart also come with the butterfly swords we saw in the Torchbearer team. Check it out below!

Kinda like the team better individually, but at the same time the colours are a bit... I dunno. A bit too pastel-y, a bit too light? If it was a darker shade of red and a darker shade of blue I'd be all over them. Dunno why they went for this shade.

Because it's intended to homage Sentai(power rangers)? That's the entire reason. Brightly flashy colors.

so I finally purchased UW-04 Devastator, found one for a decent price in eBay ($160 MISB) free shipping.

What an amazing toy!. I love how solid it is for such a big toy, wish the other UW/CW toys were as sturdy in their combined modes. It is nice being so BIG, but my only regret is that it is not to scale with al the others, well that and the fact that the packaging was not window boxed, or that TT used Hasbro box art recolored instead of their own, but those are minor nitpicks. Kind of hard to play out "Starscream's Brigade" with Dev being 1/3 taller than Bruticus ;) . But all that aside, it is a great toy. Looks like BBTS still has plenty of stock, though they lowered their price by $40 (From $220 down to $180), I foresee another price drop coming soon, they wont want to hand on to those forever, so anyone waiting, the holiday time might be a good time to pick up this giant, as the price goes down, the value for what you get definitely goes up.
