Generations Blackarachnia- yay or nay?

So there's been a few great Blackarachnia toys. The Beast Machines figure (and its wonderful thighs), Transmetal 2 figure and Animated Blackarachnia come to mind. However, we still don't have a decent accurate figure of her original Beast Wars incarnation. The original figure is woefully lacking, and whilst the Telemocha version had the colours spot on, the mold is still just no good. I for one really want to see her done in all her leopard-print, black-and-yellow striped, sexy glory. Heck, I honestly wouldn't mind if they took some liberties with the beast mode (making her into a golden orb weaver for example) if it meant the robot mode was on-model.

So I ask you: do you think Hasbro should make a Generations Blackarachnia, or are there other figures you'd rather see done first?

Hell yes.

Hell no!

They were far to different in to cartoon, Blackarachnia needs her own mould.

The Perfect Effect PE-DX02 Arranea is stunning and the stuff of nightmares but yes I would like to see a Blackarachnia to go with Generations Arcee, Chromia and Windblade.

The Fall of Cybertron Decepticon Data Discs to Autobot Data Discs(and Laserbeak to Ratbat).

Generations Springer to Sandstorm.

Several TF Prime deluxes(Bee, Wheeljack, Arcee, Knockout, Ratchet) to Beast Hunters versions.

TF Prime Arcee to Generations Chromia.

This is just a sampling of the remolds Hasbro has done to make other figures, and they've been getting more extensive lately. Tarantulas would really only require a new chest and head.

Those are terrible examples that actually prove what I'm saying :HEADHURTS:

A remould in this case would be going from a smaller female to a larger male! Most of the examples you mentioned are of characters with similar physical proportions and the BH are the same characters with a few spikes and new weapons added!

Have you even seen the show, they had very different proportions. On top of the head and chest they would need to change the hips and legs at least. Tarantulas would also need broader shoulders and chest to look right, compare recent fembots to the male counterparts. Do you truly believe that any of those be retooled into convincingly masculine robots? Added to that the chest for Blackarachnia would require a completely different transformation to work as the spider mode's 'head' considering there is more to hide

Springer/Sandstorm and Arcee/Chromia are great examples, actually. Especially the latter, those toys feel almost nothing alike.

Other than just plain size, to get a Tarantulas from a Blackarachnia:

- Swap the head
- Swap the chest (bulkier)
- Swap shoulder and hip/thigh panels or parts
- Swap spider head if not covered by the above
- Repaint (obvious but here for thoroughness)

Wouldn't be perfect that way, I agree, but would probably be very, very good regardless.

Yes to this.

They could remold her into Antagony.

gotta go with actorro. theyre just too different. besides, the OG tarantulas holds up pretty well if you ask me. go for his BW10th repaint for a spot on rendition.

Yeah, upon looking at a pic on the wiki, that painted head makes a world of difference. It doesn't even look like it would be that hard to spruce up an original either.

And upon closer inspection....these are loafers.

Ok, I do agree that there are some proportional differences, and yes it has been while since I saw the show. If this hypothetical remold would take place(of a hypothetical figure) Black Arachnia would still own the mold regardless, so it wouldn't take anything away from it.

If Tarantulas got his own mold it wouldn't be in close proximity to Black Arachnia cause I don't see them making two completely unique spider molds unless they went Transmetal, which I think has aged even better than the original version. Heck, they could just re-release the original Transmetal mold and no one would care, cause other than the odd weight lifter arms it's pretty much straight outta the TV screen.

And another thing, there are no examples of female molds being turned into male characters. Plenty of male originated molds being repainted into females though.

I've been wanting a Generations Tarantulas and Blackarachnia for a long time. I never liked the way their spider modes looked though, so I'd love to see them done with realistic tarantula and black widow modes. To do that they would need different molds, since the proportions of the spider and robot modes would be so different. But if they ever decide to make a figure of one, I'm sure the other will just be a slight retool.

Yes, I'd like a new, unique mold for her. She has such a great character and they fobbed us off with a very bulky repaint.

Don't know why that spurned that remembrance, but it did. I never did pick any of them up, but I remember seeing them in stores.

I imagine that because she evokes Black Arachnia, Venox is going to be the hardest to find on the aftermarket.

Amazon has one: http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B0055RRWOA/ref=dp_olp_new?ie=UTF8&condition=new

...but as you can see it's $35 with shipping. I don't really know of any other options myself.

Big Time YAY!

I even started a thread about which generations figures people would want next if ever Hasbro would happen to see it in the ether (and just so we can talk about what we'd love to see). And in that thread, she appeared a bunch of times.
