do you ever feel tempted or get the urge to open a brand new toy in public places and play with it in front of people? i mean if i bought a toy, i don't even have the guts to take a peek at my toy in a plasic bag in a bus or a train ride. another question, where do you play with your transformers besides at home. do you bring them to work, to school, or sunday church???? :-P  :-?

I think this is more of an age based question. I love picking up new TF's but half of mine are MISB anyway.

Call me nostalgic but I wanna keep them in good condition for my 7 month old son. That way if he's in big with a bookie when he's 25, he can sell them to help pay the dude off.

Hahaha, Transformers in Sunday morning church! Now that would be hilarious!

I'm usually too ashamed to Transform them in public, but once I bought a loose RiD Prowl from A3U and had to change it to car mode in the mall so I could put it in my backpack without it getting broken.

High school girls came, and poked at it. Then giggled. Then wanted hugs. It was bizarre.

I usually don't bother asking for gift receipts at TRU anymore though. Who am I kidding? And considering I'm often with my girlfriend when I buy TF's these days, it's a moot point.

I'm fine with reading comics on the bus/train, however. Meh, who cares, I look like a geek already anyway, what's it matter if I'm reading comic books?

I take new toys to work all the time. No awkwardness. Just tons of boredom suppressing fun.

I can tell you one thing, people on the subway don't like Transformers with missile-shooting gimmicks.

And don't play with G1 Megatron at an airport, security guards are clearly not G1 purists... then again, they didn't like me playing with Classics Megatron either.

Also, I'm on the no-fly list now for some reason.

lol, I wonder how they'd react to MP-5 Megs.

If I had one and pulled a stunt like that, I probably wouldn't be here typing this...

I had a crapload of toys at work when I was in the office full time(including RiD Fort Max).. now I have less since I'm on the road and out of the office a lot. but I do have my classics that I have doubles of(except for Ramjet..somehow he came home with me one night and has since lost a missile, it's somewhere in my sock drawer I think) I transform them all the time. God Magnus is right.. definitely helps pass the boring times when you can transform your toys.

I've opened in the shop plenty of times.

The TRU staff don't give me no stick. I'm mates with the one gal, and all the others fear me 8)

I have 3 TRU gold cards. I have so many vouchers from buyign tfs from them. I'm surprised I don't have a reserved parking space yet, but damnit I will have one eventually 8)

As soon as I get a chance to open it, I am playing with it. Most of time, I'm still in my truck in the parking lot. However, I have picked up open toys at a flea market and I play with it while I'm walking around.

I also have toys at work, so playing with them is no big deal there. However, I don't bring in anything that I really cherish, you never know who has sticky fingers.

where are the places or moments that you absolutely won't bring your transformers toys to? A. Prom night, B. Hot date, C. While Bathing D. When your parents were around.
which of these if you only have one choice to choose from.
i certainly will not bring my "precious" to a date!
btw do you think collecting toys is a nerdy habit and will chicks dig it?

That's a weird question. There's a lot of places I wouldn't bring them. But I don't care if my parents are around, they've seen my huge collection.

Yes it's a 'nerdy habit'. Some chicks dig it, some most definitely will not. If a girl thinks your hobby is lame, you probably wouldn't want to be with her anyway. Only someone who likes you the way you are is worth being with, in my opinion.

let's say if that female digs your hobby, she's most likely a nerd and dork looking too. don't get me wrong, but have you ever seen a chick that is super hot looking and sexy from head to bottom likes to collect transformers? and if you do bring a hot chick over, will you hide all your toy collection to avoid embarassement just like steve carrell in the 40 year old virgin movie?
btw is it hard for a toy nerd to get laid with a supermodel looking chick?
but if i get a chance of marrying a hot chick, i don't mind throwing all my toys away if it pleases her.

Honestly, you'd be surprised how many time I've used, "Hey, do you want to see my toys?" as a pick-up line and had it work.

Altertron, you're starting to sound like a very shallow person. You should think about selling all your toys so you can buy a fancy car and start hitting the gym to work on your abs. And don't forget the steroids!

Man, I don't know where you live Altertron, but around here there's tons of hot 'nerd' chicks. Just look for the ones with the black-rimmed glasses and band patches all over their jackets/bags.

I hate the stupid, shallow, plastic supermodel-type girls. I'd rather be with someone who has interest in things other than makeup, shoes, cellphones and "Oh my god, did you see what she was wearing??? That was like totally tacky, I can't believe it!. *giggle*" Those types of girls disgust me.

I'm already in a long term relationship with a hot girl, and she doesn't mind my hobby in the least. If things didn't work out with her, any other girl I might bring home would already know me well enough and know that I collect transformers.

Trust me, you don't want to be with a girl who won't let you collect transformers. If she won't even let you have that, what else is she going to stop you from doing?

I take mine to work with me when I get a new one. It sits upon a shelf overlooking the desk.

People love them. They usually ask who they are and if they are updates of G1 characters.

I took a G1 Megatron in it caused a bit of a stir, so many people wanting a "go".

I dont leave them there overnight though.

Well, all the girls i've brought home think it's kinky, but I am irrisistible to women :P

I wouldn't bring em to A,B or C. Purely cos they get in the way at such times.

i don't see myself as a shallow person maybe i sound like one but i'm not. the truth is that's how society perceives us, even my father mocks me at times, aren't you alittle old to play with toys? 8 years ago i bought all 4 south park plush dolls, they were quite popular at that time. up till this day, my father still mocks me, why did you buy those 4 dolls? i think of myself as a kid in heart who refuses to grow up. am i strange if i still collect or play with toys? who do i be judged, by the staring eyes of society. yes. cuz they're not from that generation, and will never understand how many of those childhood memories we still wanted to cherish. i mean collecting transformers is just like those old geezers collecting beatles, and elvis records and other stuffs.
i mean i would like to tell my dad to move on instead of lisening to those old records and to envision themselves that they were young once.

Nope, I don't hide them when the females come over.

But I don't play outside with them either. Maybe I should start too...

Well, it's wrong of your dad to be that way, and you're right, it's exactly the same thing as collecting Beatles memorabilia. If you still live at home, you'll feel better once you move out, you won't have parents judging your collecting all the time. If you've moved out, well, you don't live with your parents anymore and they can't say a thing about what you do with your time and money. Don't worry about what other people think, just do what you want.

There's nothing wrong with collecting Transformers at all. Maybe it means you're still a kid at heart, there's nothing wrong with that. It's much better than people who think they've grown up and see fit to mock those who don't conform to their view of 'normal'.
