Question, after the crushing dissapointment that was finding the many black ROTF primes on ebay were knockoffs, what is the best leader class Optimus Prime (from the Bay Films) figure? Thanks!

The RoTF leader class Prime is still the best figure, not only of the movies, or even Primes, but IMO of all non-MP TFs.

Defenitely the ROTF mold.

Got money and want the PERFECT Optimus? Try the Buster Optimus Prime, version from the 2 packs with Jetfire. You'll have the perfect OP, plus the leader Jetfire to combine with.

That set above have a ridiculous price so you may want to hunt it down somewhere else.

There is also the original ROTF one, or the HFTD repaint. The smokestacks dont convert but he's still a solid figure. Cheapest:

Another option is the Jetwing retool. It's the Buster mold without any fancy paint aps, but it come with the kick-ass jetpack from DOTM. Expensive, but may be worth it.

Finally, There is also the regular Buster Optimus Prime. Buster have better paint aps and his smokestacks/gaz tanks convert into a kick-ass gun. It have no mouthplate.
This one is reasonably priced:

For the price, it may be your best option for what you get. It's about MP level quality.

Well, it all depends on what you want it to do.

The original is nice and solid, the flip out blades are a bit annoying, though.
The HFTD battle damaged one was neat because it featured his full face for the first time in Leader Class, but the apps were ugly.

The Buster is probably the most appealing, visually. All the flames are pinstriped, there's metallic silver paint and a ton of chrome. The chrome is also it's biggest problem, too, because it'll chip and wear out in time. The one neat thing about this version is that the gas tanks combine to form a blaster.

The Striker is the odd one, it's all darker colors, but comes with a ton of accessories based off of a planned design that never made it to the final film. Optimus was supposed to come with the ability to have Mech Tech weaponry and transformations like Bumblebee and Sideswipe did in DOTM. The shield and extra guns would attach all over his cab in various spots to make him look like something out of Mad Max.

Then there's Jetwing Optimus, the robot is based off of the Buster mold, but features none of it's paint work and has an additional modification done on the backpack to allow the Jetwing to secure itself to him.

Then, from Hasbro Asia, there's an Ultimate Optimus set where you get the Jetwing, all of the Striker bits and a Buster Optimus. (it currently retails for about $250-270.00)

I have the original and the Jetwing. I have no desire to keep two of the same mold anymore, so if you're interested I'll sell you my extra if you're interested. You can PM me for more info if you'd like.

I agree. It is truly a masterpiece of a figure. It's so awesome that I own every variant of it. So what am I at currently? 12, 13?

Import movie toy variants are a massive rabbit hole that I am glad to not have fallen into too deeply! That's a ton of Primes.

If Seibertron has exactly 13, then he'd have a Prime number of Optimus Primes XD :-B

Easy. Go to Ebay and search for an item. Check on the left sidebar for SOLD listings. Make an average of all the ones that have been sold in the past month. You will have your answer. For anything.
