And so it begins, my fellow Seibertronians! Fun Publications has posted a YouTube video that teases the first reveal from the BotCon 2015 box set. To find out which figure they revealed today, check out the video they posted below.

BotCon 2015 will be held in St Charles, IL at the Pheasant Run Resort, about 50 minutes west from Chicago's O'Hare airport. Further information about BotCon 2015 can be viewed in our news section or at BotCon.com. The theme of this year's BotCon box set will be "Cybertron's Most Wanted", as shown in the images below.

I think the egg reveals are a fun way to do these, especially considering that Easter is this weekend. Now that the first figure has been revealed, I'm definitely looking forward to seeing what else they've got up their sleeves. Looks like it might be another great set!

How gimmicky. Now we have to wait for arbitrary dates for Funpub to release unnecessary videos showing off the toys then photos, instead of arbitrary dates for two photos of the figure. What an improvement funpub. Way to go. Also these Easter Eggs will be so timely if these reveals go into May; unless of course they plan to put out all the videos in April. Which they wont; the club likes to take its' sweet ass time.

Judging from the sizes, of those eggs we'll be getting 4 Deluxes and a Legends, I don't see them fitting a Voyager.

Now, to the site, each character has a couple unique codes on their cards:

The Thief: BC2015718-2197M, AO: STGN
The Muscle: BC2015591-9687D?, AO: STHD
The Loose Cannon: BC2015426-2912SG?, AO: STHD
The Boss: BC201562811-484?, AO: STHD
The Bount Hunter: BC2015712-1496D?, AO: GNOP

I know the "BC2015" stands for "BotCon 2015", but how to the rest of the codes relate? Like Packrat for instance, 7182197M?

Wait, the final two numbers could refer to their release year or year of first appearance (Packat's was BotCon 1997 along with Fractyl), that would mean we need to look at:

1987
2012
1984
1996

Let's start guessing :)

It's about time. Even so, I'm not impressed with Packrat. So this'll be yet another set I'll be splitting with someone.

The Boss: BC201562811-484?, AO: STHD

Does the final letter in the code match their allegiance or some other clue? D = Decepticon, SG = Shattered Glass, etc?

Is Packrat another one of those 3H characters ? Or a Japan repaint ?

OK, are you kidding me? I may be on to something:

Thief: 718-2197 could translate to 7-18-21-97, or July 18 through 21 1997, which was BotCon 1997 (off by one day though), which had Packrat

Bounty Hunter: 712-1496 would then translate to July 12 to 14, 1996: BotCon 1996 which had Onyx Primal.

Loose Cannon: 426-2912, April 26 to 29, 2012 aka BotCon 2012... :-?

It doesn't go for the Boss and Muscle, though the principle should be the same.

I doubt that means anything, because it can't be applied to the 1980s codes.

Still can't be applied to 1987 or 1984. No BotCon.

Packrat is one of the original BotCon exclusives, from 1997, along with Fractyl.

A 2000 or 2001 Walmart exclusive version of Transmetal Rattrap bore an extremely striking resemblance to Packrat, and was later repurposed as Transmetal Packrat in Botcon related comics if I recall correctly.

Unless the characters they are representing are from 1984 and 1987 respectively.

I never said they were all BotCon characters, just that the codes deciphered refer to those BotCon dates. That leaves 591-9687 and 62811-484 (which is reversed format) to refer to something else entirely.

That's more likely. But can we figure it out from the codes?

If the rumored Battletrap from Springer proves true, then he could be the Muscle, whose 591-9687 code could refer to May 1991 (the publishing date of Marvel G1 #80, in which he appeared), D-96 (his Japanese ID number), and 1987 (the year his toy came out).

Or it could be Oilmaster, since his prototype was first unveiled at BotCon 1996, and he is a bounty hunter.

something to keep in mind, Packrat came out of blue egg. perhaps the egg colours are hints for the other 4.

another thing to be mindful of, there are some voyager class figures that become quite compact in alt mode. the arms micron breakdown springs to mind.

there was a screencap from a podcast ages ago that had an olive green breakdown alongside packrat, a red jazz, and an unidentifiable legends figure.

green jeep from 87, gotta be Rollbar.

I hope none of them is Lockdown since that would be such a waste, with us having already got plenty of good Lockdown toys in recent years.
