I actually like him because he's so stupid. And I love rhinos. Good thing he was like a dollar though, right?

The way I see it, I got bonzaitron for less than 4$ and the rest are free

Bunch of crickets. The thrift shop had tons of stuff but no TFs. Was fun anyways.

Went on a big TF hunt today but it yielded nothing. For TFs at least. Scored some stuff for the family though.

But there was one cool thing related to giant japanese robots: this book found at the thrift shop.

People have been talking about these 70s robots on the site lately and also asking me what affinity I have with them, well Grendizer is a big deal in Quebec. He is the national giant robot, the one everyone knows (well, until the TF movies came), but he definitely feels like our own thing. Since the french market did create a whole new name for him, where we know him as Goldorak.

And I found his book. But I didnt buy it, because I already have it, as does every Quebec household it seems. Just wanted to share some Goldorak :)

I've always heard it was huge in Italy, too, under the name Goldrake. These just didn't take off in America. We had Shogun Warriors, but they didn't get a lot of media exposure, just a Marvel comic (that Marvel had to license themselves) that tried to tie three of them together and the Force Five anime series that Mattel helped produce to promote Shogun Warriors, but for some reason didn't actually call it Shogun Warriors. No real surprise that Hasbro was always able to beat out Mattel when it came to promoting their toys.

Crickets again. Fred Meyer was picked over worse than Target is. There were 2 Berserkers and one Crowbar. Was hoping to find Ratchet but no dice. I don't know what it is about this area but the distribution SUCKS.

Went to my local wal-mart in pursuit of PotP Wave 2. The transformers section looked like it was hit by a tornado; all deluxes, voyagers, leaders, warriors, and premiere edition figures were gone. They did have some Studio Series deluxes, so I got to see ratchet, crowbar, and dinkybee in person. With the timing and state of things, next time will probably be a lot better!

Pretty sure, but I may have gotten so used to seeing them that I thought they were part of the shelf. :-?

I haven't seen most TLK stuff since since it all went on clearance in February. A few weeks ago I remember still seeing some Voyager Megatrons and Grimlocks hanging around, but I'm pretty sure they're gone now. Looking this morning at the Walmart near work the only things on the pegs were from PotP and RID, I was moving stuff around because the pegs were a total mess. The Studio Series stuff is just sitting on the shelf because there's nowhere else to put them.

Not *completely*, they still had some turbo changers, a couple legions, and an actual legion of those dancing Sqweeks statues. Knight Armor was gone though, replaced with what I think were RiD activators. Really should have taken a picture, this was the strangest mass-retail shelf I’ve seen in ages!

Oh and Emerje, I finally found a vulture with his head. Oddly enough, it is very tightly held on there so I dont really get it.

Huh, I wonder if they just aren't being pushed on all the way at the factory and shaking loose in transit?

That Tailgate for 2 Loonies is an AWESOME SCORE, Will. Even if he comes in a bag of trash!
That's the kind of thing that makes repeated empty-handed trips to the thrift store worth it.
Is he in decent shape? He looks it.

So I went hunting and I dint fond much TF related. Winners (TJMAx) is all dried up and while our local national dollar chain is stepping up their game and becoming more of a 5 below, the only thing TF related there were KOs. But they got a really nice selection of Star Wars 2 packs for 4$ Canadian.

Found this cooler at Sam's Club. Hasbro really should broaden their trademark.

Sadly, those one step RID toys were missing limbs. That sucked since I only found out after I bought them.

Also, I found these suicide sqaud toys at Dollarama for 4$ each, which is an amazing price.
