ZeldaTheSwordsman wrote:You're wrong about Roadhauler. Roadhauler is in fact a renamed-for-trademark-reasons version of Hauler from the cartoon's pilot - the crane truck guy who lifts Hound back to the road and who was likely the original plan for the toy that would become Grapple. The e-Hobby toy expands on him and ties him in with the extra Constructicons seen in the flashback to Megatron's construction.

Regarding Road Rage herself, and her face.. G1 Cartoon fembots do seem to have faces that are more tapered than the guys, and it helps her look more distinct from her mold-mate Tracks. And if we look beyond G1 stuff but still within the realm of more-or-less-normal proportions, Override and Thunderblast have tapered, pointy faces.

What was wrong with my statement Roadhauler being a Japan created fiction? >:oP e-Hobby is Japan based and the fiction/backstory was created by a Japanese Takara engineer/designer. Last I checked......Hirofumi Ichikawa was still Japanese.

Did you read that factoid in transwiki? I also know how to use google btw.And there's no mention of any trademark reason for his not being included in the show.

http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Roadhauler

More or less a too fast a release or premature release of the product who got forgotten in the mix. Maybe check your sources first before offering a know it all correction.

Btw, this discussion is not off topic as I initially mentioned, Roadrage's first fiction backstory was done by Takara. She had a mouth plate. Always been a mouthplate. The history/backstory was fixed in the G1 Japan centric universe (a mix of the Marvel/Sunbow production) with a sprinkle of their (Japan's) take on the franchise.

The "Wings" incarnation done with a fembot who looked like RR without the mask, well, another clam bake fanwank which unfortunately came to a hault as we have heard nary a peep from the creators.

The release of the fig came with Crosscut and Roadhauler. Whose fiction was created by a Japanese engineer/designer who work for Takara. Try giving the credit of Roadhauler's bio to the Sunbow/Marvel seems to be stretching it.

Darn it, the more I look at Road Rage, the more I want one. Really, really need some more fembots for my display.

I promised myself I won't buy any retools or repaints, but still... :BANG_HEAD:

This toy has no chance at all showing up in my collection. I like that it's turning out to be a fembot ad that we're seeing more and more of those... But I'm no MP collector.

Not even a cheaper TRU Hasbro version?

By the time that reaches my doorstep, I could have just paid Takara prices for the same thing.

I'm downsizing to Generations and G1/G2 at the moment. The only one I'm considering is Starsaber, because he's an oddball in the MP-range anyway and I'm a Victory fan.

Starsaber's a great toy, but only if you're a fan of the Japanese TF anime. He doesn't really fit into the "traditional" G1 TF aesthetics, and seems more at home among early/mid 80's Gundam mobile units than his TF brethren.

That's why he could so nicely fit into my Takara focussed GEEWUN. I could have bought him friday, but passed him up. 'cause I figured that if I've got the money for MP Saber... Why not save up some more and get the original?

Because he costs a kidney.

That's the thing though, I am not really collecting much right now, and definitely not in the MP game anyway (the entirety of my MP collection is OP, Soundwave and cassettes and G2 Sideswipe). But Road Rage just looks so niiiice. :(

You kinda lost me there. Why would he fit into your Takara G1 collection, if he DOESN'T fit in with generic G1 TF aesthetics?

As for vintage TF's, I have no inclination to collect those. Even as a kid, I felt jipped when the actual toy didn't have nearly the same level of articulation of cartoon accuracy as the cell animation models.

With that said, vintage toys will actually go up in value.

I meant that I could have gotten MP Saber, but passed him up for the sake of having money for the original. While he looks absolutely rad and fits in verrrrrry nicely with what's going on in my collection, he just isn't the original. Knees be damned!

Kinda the same way I feel about Roadrage. While cool, it's just not red GEEWUN Tracks.

Ah, so you're more of a vintage collector. Personally, the only G1 vintage I'd want is Mirage. It was my first, and arguably my only non-KO TF as a child. Lost the original during a move, though.

To make matters worse, the original mold's been lost/destroyed, and I can't even hope for an Encore toy.

Not willing to pay evilbay prices either, so I guess Classics Mirage will have to suffice.

I dig it, though I probably won't be picking one up right away. I am hoping we see some new molds soon. Would love to see a Shockwave that homages G1 cartoon/comic Shockwave.

The more I see, the more I think I'll skip Tracks and wait for Roadrage. As mentioned above, she'll keep G2 'swipe company.
