There’s a difference between fake or counterfeit Transformers that are meant to fool collectors into thinking they are buying official product and a bootleg that is immediately distinguishable from a Hasbro or Takara figure. While both are intended to profit from and take unlicensed advantage of the Transformers brand and its supporters, some collectors can find themselves quite drawn to particular knockoffs. This week I’ll highlight a few that have stood out to me as being more than just fakes.

Fun read! I always look forward to your posting of articles, but this one was especially cool to read since many don't share your opinion on the matter.

That Oversaber KO appeared in some Korean(Hong Kong? I don't know) knock off film. I have no idea what it was called, I saw it on a website I've long since lost that had pics of all sorts of other knock off films, including the animated film that had Inferno in it.

Also, totally agree that the activators version of the Animated seekers is extremely awesome.

Holy slag, Academy used to do bootlegs? They're big players in the model kit industry nowadays...
