At the mods, I hope this can be stickied so as to assist our fellow members in gauging the currency exchange prices should they decide to purchase overseas (i.e. Japan) aside from domestic American sources like TRU or specialty comic shops or hobby shops that are handled by Diamond Publishing.

I learned to use this online tool when also buying stuff on ebay.

FYI, for those who haven't used ebay, depending on the region you are registerd, there is an automatic conversion already but this is just a heads up.

This is an off shoot from a previous discussion but the objective of this post is to assist with no malice intended to anyone. Google and common sense is your friend.

Please note, fx(foreign exchange) rates tend to fluctuate so this is just applicable to the day you enter the figure you need.

I am not affiliated to this company or it's owners

Allow for a little allowance when paying for products as shipping costs are not included immediately. This will be based on the weight of the product and of course your location/destination of delivery.

I've been using XE for years, just be aware that their exchange rate is the median between the "buy" and "sell" values, and that there's always a discrepancy when purchasing online, as it doesn't include any fees charged by your bank for foreign currency, or Paypal's rate which I beleive includes their fee for currency conversion.

On the other hand, it's a pretty good tool to give you an estimate of just how much you're forking out

I've had a currency converter, language translator and measurements converter saved in my favorites for years. Makes sense using them as they are free sites.
