Crazy auction for beast wars megatron-

Beast Wars Megatron craziness!

-I picked up one almost identical for a tenner only last year, sure it wasnt afa rated but who really cares? Its only bw megs????

I'd rather buy this

AFA is a scourge to the collecting industry.

1.) They don't rate pieces as they should. (I've seen damaged bubbles get 80-90, while a pristine, case fresh mint item with no damage got a 95, when it was clearly a 100 item.)

2.) On an item like Megatron, it's clear to see who it really is, but on boxed items (such as Fortress Maximus) you're basically playing your hand and might lose. Who knows what the previous owner could've put in that box?)

3.) They cause prices to go through the roof for something that isn't worth a 1/10 of the price they help you command for a piece. Which in turn burns the rest of us.

But it is a nice toy though. Ahh... I remember throwing many temper tantrums before my parents bought it for me. Good times... good times

thats just plain evil asking that much, i dont care if its graded or not. So somebody staring at it and saying its in good shape makes the price this high???!!!??? I'd much rather have one in a damaged box for a lot cheaper. The same guys got a blaster for 1800$ its just plain crazy and it only got an 80. Do these things ever sell for that high even if they are graded???

looks like someone is trying to save up for college..that's not a collector, but a money making machine...they kill the fandom collecting and selling at higher prices due to grading..

Simple way to end AFA grading is just not to buy them. If no one is buying then they aren't making the kind of money they want and they stop doing it.

Wow, I remember getting him and Optimus Primal on Christmas. I almost died out of glee. But yeah, even if I didn't already own him, a thousand big ones is way too much. A fifth or fourth of that at best would be good for the seller.

That 2nd auction's price isn't too bad. That's a whole lot of really nice figures, especially the Rock Bubble versions.
