The KO were recent releases. Your IH might be the same as mine, 2015 release so the oxidation has already started. Maybe I should get a KO for spare parts? :HEADHURTS:

That's what I'm doing. I need new parts for mine.

Just compared Takara UM and the 1st ed MP-10, chrome still bright, shiny with no corrosion (blackening of parts)

Both are made in Vietnam. Just like IH. Yet IH ver.1 has the worst corrosion.

Of the comparison? I only have ver 1. Ver 2 was recently released so no corrosion I assume.

Cobotron confirmed the corrosion in his ver. 1. Am I correct to assume that by your post recently transforming IH you got the latest release?

My UM and Convoy have no rust.

Pic of your Ironhide's bumper.

I got the first release. It wasn't a first transformation, I like to transform them from time to time. Applied another layer of Pledge just in case.

Crappy day was crappy so went to my rainy day pile. Pulled out Ironhide and opened him up.

Holy hell this figure is gorgeous! Perfect red, great accessories and one of the most satisfying transformations ever! So good that I went back to the pile and got out Ratchet who looks just that little bit better!

I LOVE both of these figures. Perfect looks, perfect transformation. Bliss!

I hate to rain on your parade but just as I love this awesome mold/design/feat of engineering, watch out for the chrome fading easily. :(

How long has Big Red been in that pile?
Glad you like him. He's pretty great.

He's been on the pile since release! All that remains in the pile now is Hotrod and FansToys Stomp (Sludge). :)

They are both great but if the chrome does fade, I can probably airbrush a decent chrome silver over if again.

Having issues with Hotrodimus chrome fade (I haven't ever handle the pipes on his forearms and just had a total of 2x transformation mileage. Same can be said with the hidden exhaust chromed pipes in in backpack.

Recently discovered this -- MP Ironhide and Ratchet have an extra neck-joint that allows you to display them from Sunbow-type of angles.

This is what it looks like from above.

Anyone get the "Shadow Fisher" upgrade kit for Ironhide and Ratchet? Thoughts?

Ideally, I'd prefer if someone found a way to relocated the side flaps to his behind, and relocate the wheels on his rear to his back while having them angle down so they could pretend to be jet boosters.

I love MP-27 & MP-30 but I'm not sure what I dislike more -- the side panels or the wheels. I can overlook them but I'm considering this.

The modded torso reminds me of the Studio OX model.

I got the Ratchet upgrade a few weeks ago, and it’s a massive improvement. Before I replaced the parts, I remember thinking “this can’t possibly make that much of a difference.” But it really does. I’m definitely picking up Ironhide’s upgrade.

I think these 3P upgrades are one of those instances where you look at the photos, and can see that yeah, it is a little better. But when it’s in hand, you can really see the difference.

Installed both kits today!

I never liked those side panels but I was able to ignore them. I considered the kits after getting MP-44 because the new MP Prime basically has zero "kibble" so I figured it was time to upgrade his right-hand man. Thanks to Bucky for convincing me to just go for it!

I like what it does for their torso, too.

Ratchet also really benefits from it.. the side panel obscured his main red area in profile..

And they've got more range of motion now.
