Hey guys, as a staff member, I was all geared up to report for Botcon. However, the Tokyo Toy Show happened the very same week-end and took me totally by surprise. So much more to report. To the point where I found myself more excited to report for the Tokyo Show than Botcon, due to the reveals. And I was wondering if you guys thought the same way. Below is a recap of what was announced and first shown at each show, let me know which seems to be the better of the two.

Botcon 2015 (Hasbro):

New combiner Sky Reign (made up of Skylynx and 4 other autobots), new combiner Bruticus, new combiner Optimus Maximus (made up of a white Prime torso and 4 other autobots) Leader Thundercracker, Legends Shockwave, Chop Shop, Pipes, Trailcutter and Buzzsaw.

Tokyo Toy Show 2015 (Takara):

Unite Warriors Devastator (with remolded elbows and extra features), TAV Optimus (exclusive mold to Japan), TAV Jazz and Sideswipe, Legends Arcee, Slipstream and Nightbird, MP Ironhide, MP Gorila Convoy (Optimus Primal) (and not confirmed if by Takara but MP style Diabattle from Diaclone).

Personally for me, I'd say the Botcon reveals pipped my interest more. Sure we knew/predicted a lot of them, but damn Bruticus looks damn good, and Skylynx is awesome. Was also pretty sweet to see next year's TFSS being a set of combiners.

Tokyo Toy Show not so much, but the Devy elbows and more looks at the second fembot trio were pretty sweet.

MP is not my thing, so Ironhide/Primal don't really excite me that much.

Tokyo because of MP Ironhide, and Devastator. Though I will probably enjoy the latter through other people's photos.

Botcon also had a couple of interesting things: the Sky Lynx reveal was a huge surprise; and gotta have that Shockewave, even if at "Legends" size he doesn't scale with anything I have. I might hold off for the inevitable Takara deco, they generally go the extra mile. Just don't stick a RID sticker on it.

Not planning on getting the combiners but Combaticon Brawl looks pretty cool.

Initially I would've said Tokyo, but having digested the Ironhide photos I'm not impressed at all. Changing lead designers was clearly a massive mistake when 2 3P options (which both have major issues) are a lot better. The Constructicons were nice to see, but Tak just did what Hasbro should've done.

Optimus Primal almost won it on his own for me, but I was surprised by how many Hasbro reveals I liked.

Sky Lynx, Mirage, Prowl, Sunstreaker, Wheeljack, Hound, Smokescreen, Trailbreaker and Chop Shop were all great reveals and grabbed my attention more than I thought they would. So Botcon won it for me.

That white Optimus, seriously considering him, hopefully TT make a "Starconvoy" version of him. Stand alone, in the default colors, he'd look waaaaaaaaaaaay better than the not so nice recent release.

I feel like it depends on collecting scope. If someone's a Generations fan, Hasbro's reveals crushed it at Botcon. Masterpiece-centric collectors (of which there are a lot) would have shrugged at the Botcon news.

Personally I look at it as a very well-timed and clearly talked about set of reveals, and in the end, it's not a debate over who showed cooler stuff, it's just a good time to be a fan. They didn't step on each other's toes and presented, mostly, very different product. Sure, Devastator, but TT had to get that out there sometime soon so not much getting around that.

Agree with scotty, it's a bit of a matter of perspective. Gotta go with botcon on this one due to all the generations stuff they unveiled, plus freaking sky-Lynx. I want him now.

I'd go with BotCon because of all the Combiners and such, plus a lot of those we hadn't heard about before as being official nor seen before, afaik, vs Devastator which was widely known and seen prior to the Tokyo Con.
