Thought I'd rant

I recently got a copy of the new Toyfare Magazine while I was recovering from surgery. I thought it was cool that they were doing an issue on Transformers and even a spotlight on the Classics line. So I opened the mag to the Transformers part and thought to myself "these guys work with toys every day, and they can't even transform the toys right for their Transformers spotlight!" In their Classics spotlight Jetfire was a mess and Optimus and Ultra Magnus were wrong.

I kind of felt cheated. Toyfare usually does a nice job with their spotlights, but on their Classics Spotlight they just got plain lazy.

Did anyone else have a chance to read and if so do you think they could have done a better job?

Thanks.

Its sad they can't transform them properly.

How on earth did they miss that other grill, on the back of Prime and Magnus, that actually has a waist line.

Jetfires nose even splits open when you fold him down, was that not enough of a clue as to how he's supposed to work?

Ohh and Rodimus' leg panels, they fold down for a reason.

Ohh what did they do to Bonecrusher?

Oh ****, that's tragic. Toys is what they do and report on yet they can't get the transformations right? For god's sake they come with instructions! Oh well.

Wow, they didn't even remove the clear band around Jetfire's nose. That's too bad.

Someone should get a written warning for that - it does both the toyline and the magazine a massive disservice.

Pathetic

And yet, amazingly, it was light years ahead of Toys R Us... who've been cutting off limbs during editing, mis-transforming, and not even having the FRONT of the robots facing the camera in their newspaper ads for almost 3 decades.

Its just something we all gotta live with, n00bs shouldnt be photographing tfs, as a matter of fact all tf photography jobs should just be given to ryan.

It makes perfect sense, it would save him time in the long run, he'd get a ew quid and the people would get decent pics!

Toyfare hasn't been the same for a while now. I haven't bought an issue for over a year, and TF has long been neglected in their book since the beginning.

I thought, "It couldn't be that bad. I bet you're just complaining about a few parts here and there out of place like Prime's windows or Jetfire's wings," but these mistakes are way more fundamental.

Looks like someone didn't read the instructions.

I like Toyfare, but I was very disappointed in that spread. It's like they shot the whole thing in 5mins. Anyone even remotely familiar with tfs could have done a much better job...

Hire a consultant Toyfare! Or better yet PM me.

I agree, and most of their "Toyfare" and "Wizard" books favor Marvel Comics something fierce, maybe they will give more exposure to the Transformers in their magazines now that Marvel is working with Hasbro.

I must agree, everyone would benefit from that deal.
