About a year ago I got the re-reissue Powermaster Optimus Prime from BBTS. However today when I looked at him the chrome on Ginrai/Hi-Q was not on most of is chromed engine! There's no signs of flaking and it's starting to happen to the front bumper of Prime too! Help!

No flaking but it's starting to disappear? Where is it going? Pictures might help, though usually once chrome wear has started the only real fix is to get the subject areas re-chromed.

Sorry if they're a little blurry I can't keep my hands very steady. I can't even find anything shiny near where he was sitting. They've been on a shelf most of the time. For the period they weren't I had all of Powermaster Prime in a sealed plastic bag when I was getting new furniture in my room and we I got them out they were still as good as new. The legs on the trailer are still completely fine though is what I don't get.

Light, heat, and humidity can do that to it, just very unusual for that to happen so quickly. Might not have been applied well to begin with. Handling will also do that, as the vac metal reacts to skin oils, but again, that'd be expected on a vintage Ginrai/Powermaster Prime and not a year old reissue. In other words, that's not uncommon chrome damage, but it's surprising to see it on a not that old, not handled a lot toy.

As for a fix, Chrome Tech is an option I've heard of, though I can't say I've used them.
